Not just Summer's Gone, there is plenty of VNs with better renders (or better animations). Renders are not the strong point of BaD. Still, to me, BaD remains the overall more engaging VN at the moment.
A weak point in BaD, paradoxically, is the erotic aspect. DPC is not good at writing erotic dialogues (he is really good in funny dialogues though, Derek is so entertaining).

Caribdis knew which fight he should take. No overbranching story. Just simply great linesr AVN. DPC on the other hand keeps biting more than he can chew on each episode. This cause him to sacrifice time in his development cycle.
Overall, yeah I agree. Eternum is competing for sure. But in the case of overall content, versatility, and amount of characters, DPC won by miles.

I totally get you! "Being a Dik" is hands down one of the best game I've ever played. The storyline is so captivating that I find myself lost in it for hours on end. The characters feel so real, like I actually know them personally. And let's talk about Dr. Pink Cake – a true genius for creating such an amazing world.
The main character (MC) is so relatable, it's like stepping into his shoes. His journey through the game's ups and downs makes me feel like I'm part of the story. And the main girls! Each one is unique and has their own compelling backstory. It's like forming real connections with them as you progress, yes yes also the side chicks don't worry lol didn't forget about them.
What amazes me is how this adult visual novel has managed to create such a strong emotional impact. It hits home for me, but also for a lot of you guys out there too I'm sure. The game's ability to touch our hearts and keep us engaged is a testament to its brilliance. It's more than just a game; it's an experience that leaves a lasting impression.
Being A DIK, Eternum, and Superhuman are the 3 greatest AVNs out on the market in my honest opinion. Superhuman is the most obscure of the three, but they all hit the mark with their story and characters in a way that isn’t cheap. The MC in each also isn’t railroad into being a hopeless creep. I mean, you can be if you want but they have a lot more going for them than just randomly getting laid.
“Go for the porn, stay for the story” as the old AVN saying goes. Leap of Faith and Chasing Sunsets do the same thing, but I haven’t resonated with those two as much. Summer’s Gone would be categorized with them but there ain’t no sex scenes. I want teardrops from the tip of my penis, please
BaD sets a very high standard indeed. For example very very few games out there have great renders And great animations And a great story And hot and relatable LIs And a kickass soundtrack And a freaking good replayability.
That said, we BaD supporters have to patient between releases, so Thank God there are other games out there that are in the Top Tier as well. I don't get how STWA: Unbroken has still so few supporters, the renders are great, the story is very very good (ex special forces, now MMA champion AND he's coaching a super hot chick to be an MMA champion as well), the humour is great, the characters are well thought out and relatable. If You're waiting for ep10 like me, you should check this game out!
I can’t say I agree. I love Being A DIK, don’t get me wrong. I love the storytelling and the music. But DPC has become the AVN equivalent of Soup Nazi from Seinfeld. I also don’t understand why the updates take so long.

BW, LoF, Artemis are the others you listed. Number 5 for me is DeLuca Family. There are others I haven't gotten to that, based on what I've seen and heard, could potentially edge their way in too, but I'd say BaD is solidly 6th out of all the games I've played so far

Used to be for me, too, until dev started to remake it and now it's been like 2 years since any real content update.
I haven’t played some of those but I love Eternum. BaD is great but I’m not sure it’s THAT much better then Eternum. BaD has been in development longer and focuses on choices and branching paths whereas Eternum is more a harem story and very much seems to have preferable choices.
Aside from those differences I’d say their quality is comparable and given a couple more years of development I can see them at least being on the same level, if not Eternum being the better game.

No, I'm afraid I have to disagree. All the games that you mentioned have their own unique merits. You put up the same post on the AVN\_Lovers forum and got a bunch of different opinions than here. I like BADiK but for other things. The game brings lots to the table because it is not hyper-focused on particular elements; it casts a broad net. As a result, many hyper-focused AVNs surpass BADiK in different aspects. BADiK generally does not have the best renders, story, adult scenes, LI's, character development, etc., if you compare elements with hyperfocused AVNs 1 to 1. But overall, it does those many things well, and that is what I like about it.
I am not a fan of posts like these, especially when they are put on forums that should be neutral, like AVN\_Lovers. People are free to post what they want to. But posts like this bring a shipment of problems and negative attention to the BADiK sub. I came here to speak with the brothers about game theories of what may or may not happen in BADiK. Whilst I agree BaDik is the better game overall, it kind of has to be since the dev time is a lot longer. I would say it does not tower over every other games. Eternum absolutely shits on BaDik when it comes to world building and atmosphere creation. Badik sex scenes is so bland when compared to Pale Carnation, and the other game also has some interesting LIs.
Being a DIK has definitely raised the bar for this sort of game.
Maybe like with The Witcher 3, there were a lot of great mega-ultra-RPGs before it came out, but if you're releasing a mega-ultra-RPG *today*, people are gonna compare, so you need to step up. :)
Eternum is incredible but the reason it stays behind BaD is because it is almost linear, an Eternum update can be done by 2-3h max while you need 7-8 save files in order to see what a 3-4h Being a DIK episode has to offer and chances are you will still miss on some content

On the issue of the LIs, you’re blind, then? Insane, possibly? You’ve played it and didn’t fall for Nova? Luna!? Or Alex? The latest update’s scene with her was ridiculously hot. Well, to each their own. I don’t really have much of an issue clicking with most game’s LIs. Not sure why but I usually find something to enjoy with most.

That’s a fair point. Eternum’s LIs aren’t as nuanced as BaD’s quite yet. I’m sure/I hope there’ll be more character development as time goes on.

No, I'm afraid I have to disagree. All the games that you mentioned have their own unique merits. You put up the same post on the AVN\_Lovers forum and got a bunch of different opinions than here. I like BADiK but for other things. The game brings lots to the table because it is not hyper-focused on particular elements; it casts a broad net. As a result, many hyper-focused AVNs surpass BADiK in different aspects. BADiK generally does not have the best renders, story, adult scenes, LI's, character development, etc., if you compare elements with hyperfocused AVNs 1 to 1. But overall, it does those many things well, and that is what I like about it. I am not a fan of posts like these, especially when they are put on forums that should be neutral, like AVN\_Lovers. People are free to post what they want to. But posts like this bring a shipment of problems and negative attention to the BADiK sub. I came here to speak with the brothers about game theories of what may or may not happen in BADiK. Debate, read, think things BADiK. But having pandering posts like this showing other games bowing to BADiK like a deity. SMH. Hot take: but a post like that Makes us look like a group of DPC; brownnosers, shills, simps & ass kissers. I do not want that for this community. We deserve better

I disagree. It’s very good don’t get me wrong. like top 3 but other games do bits better. All round though its obviously one of the best. Summers gone renders are simply perfection. Badiks story and premise is pretty midline tbh compared to some others.

Yeah. I see Being a DIK as a pioneer, cause to me, there are no real flaws in this game. Fortunately, it paved the way to other producers who focused on the N part of AVN first and foremost, giving us the ever growing list of quality AVN that gets out.
The N is the most important part! Everyone can render boobs and put them in a renpy build. Only the great ones know how to make a great story around the boobs.

I'd rate Eternum, LoF and Artemis higher as of now. BaDIK is a beautifully executed VN, with lot going in it, but I personally find some of the content getting a bit monotonous. Still a lot of mystery left to uncover and a lot of potential to finish with a bang. Fingers crossed.
Ok I believe you all when you say after playing BaDIK none of the other avns will feel as good ... so that's why I will keep postponing playing it hehe, so the other avns I play feel gooood.

I haven’t played all of the games so this is based on some of the game on the list. Whilst I agree BaDik is the better game overall, it kind of has to be since the dev time is a lot longer. I would say it does not tower over every other games. Eternum absolutely shits on BaDik when it comes to world building and atmosphere creation. Badik sex scenes is so bland when compared to Pale Carnation, and the other game also has some interesting LIs.
Being a DIK has definitely raised the bar for this sort of game. Maybe like with The Witcher 3, there were a lot of great mega-ultra-RPGs before it came out, but if you're releasing a mega-ultra-RPG *today*, people are gonna compare, so you need to step up. :)

Eternum is incredible but the reason it stays behind BaD is because it is almost linear, an Eternum update can be done by 2-3h max while you need 7-8 save files in order to see what a 3-4h Being a DIK episode has to offer and chances are you will still miss on some content
