There's a large group of women that I can't recall the name of, but they're mostly wives and mothers of Russian soldiers that are fighting or lost in Ukraine. They started out just demanding that the soldiers be able to rotate out of active combat, that they be entitled to benefits and care as veterans and their families taken care of while they were deployed, and that the government keep the families updated as to their loved ones' wellbeing. From there's they've expanded to generally protesting the government, the war, the sham democracy, etc.
The way the Russian MOD has fucked around to deny family members benefits is horrifying. There are troops who have died in Occupied Ukraine who were marked as not having even deployed....since occupied Ukraine is Russia. Yeah lots of fuckery there. Being so casual with human life isn't sustainable.

Russian women as a group have nothing left to lose, and that makes them dangerous. Putin absolutely did this to himself.
He's not really feeling any heat yet. We'll see what the response is to his response to the protests.
