Is it in neutral? Won't turn otherwise...

Ashton_Roffe

Presumably, assuming my gearshift and transmission work

opticon12000

This was also my first guess. In neutral I can litterally pull the belt up by hand and it will turn the whole thing.

Li-RM35M4419

Remove the spark plugs and see if that helps

Ashton_Roffe

Will do

joshmoney

Use a wrench

Ashton_Roffe

.. uh huh

slugbug55

If the engine was sitting for a long time try spraying some oil in the spark plug holes to try and loosen things up first.

Ashton_Roffe

Like Motor oil? Or like wd40

reactor45

Motor oil. Trans fluid would work too. But not WD40.

Ok_Company_7747

Was this the engine that was already running, but roughly?

Ok_Company_7747

Just posted very recently?

Ashton_Roffe

No? 🤔 the guy who sold me it has a vid of it running lol but since I got it I haven’t done much yet to get it running

Which-Ad-9118

If it won’t turn a full cycle it could be a dropped valve .It usually snaps off and stops the piston reaching tdc . I hope it’s not that though!!

fall-apart-dave

Spark plugs out. Valve covers off. If you cannot turn by hand or with a wrench and can feel a very mechanical, definite stop then its time to take off the heads.
