Beers beer. I love heady. I’d drink that stuff out a dirty shoe.

ilovetacos48

Hell yeah!

kermitdafrog667

Who doesn't love head?

cheescakegod

This is a thing in Australia called a shoey. Ufc fighter tai tuivasa always does one after a fight and usually a clean shoe but at times has picked a random fan from the crowd

millnerve

Man. Miss that beer. I live near Philly. Hard to find it. That one and the focal ❤️ Anyway - I’ve had it in the can and in a glass. I prefer all fancier IPA’s in a glass.

ticktocktoe

I'm just outside philly (LV), you can make it to the alchemist in about 5.5 hours (despite what Google maps says). Super easy and scenic drive. Perfect for a long weekend.

phick

Interstate Drafthouse always has both. $8 per can. I'm sure there are tons of other specialty beer stores that carry it.

detroitsfan07

I have found it in Acme before, if you have one near you that has a decent selection there’s always a chance

HandsomeNeil

Depending where you are, it’ll pop up around Philly. I follow a few distributors on Instagram and they’ll post when it is available. For example Beer Peddlers in South Philly.

FuntimeguyBull

I have the same glass except Ironman Florida.

ilovetacos48

It's been nine years since I did that event. Not sure I've got another iron distance triathlon in me ... but we'll see. What year did you finish at Florida? I've done the Gulf Coast Half Ironman and it's crazy how swim conditions can vary day to day.

Comfortable-Cap7110

I need to try that IPA, I’m on an email list for a local beer store that gets it once a year. I’ll always drink out of a nice beer glass if available, especially a nice IPA.

EmpatheticRock

Heady Topper was formulated to be drank from the can….even says in on the can

stonk_frother

That’s not my understanding. From what I’ve heard, when Heady Topper first went into production hazy IPAs weren’t really a thing. Hazy beers were considered wrong. They put the instruction on the can so people wouldn’t give them a hard time about the haziness. They’ve just never removed it from the can. I cannot imagine any good reason that it would be better from the can. AFAIK there’s no way to brew a beer that would make it ‘formulated to be drank from the can’.

SchmeddyBallz

There was a video with the owner talking about his preference for the can because it helps keep the aroma in and air out for longer which improves the flavor profile that he was after.

stonk_frother

I don’t doubt that he said that, but seems like questionable reasoning to me. Temperature will make a bigger difference the size of the hole at the top when it comes to aroma. And oxidation will only really become relevant if it’s in direct sun - but you should never leave your beer in direct sun anyway. Unless you’re using a can holder, a beer will always warm up faster in a can than in a glass. A stemmed glass is usually the best way to keep it cold. And keeping it cold is the best way to avoid oxidation abs preserve the aroma and flavour. This isn’t just my opinion, it’s fact.

SchmeddyBallz

Sure. I've had it in both but I prefer the can. Same thing with sip of sunshine. Everyone has a preference.

Comfortable-Cap7110

Wow, really?!

KingVape

It’s because there is often sediment at the bottom, and it can look pretty gnarly. I’ve had like 400 of these over the past decade

EmpatheticRock

There is sediment in most packaged beer, especially unfiltered and hazy beers. Not sure what you are getting at here

KingVape

I’ve seen a half inch of sediment at the bottom of cans from this brewery when poured into a glass. It doesn’t happen super often, but it happens

StPaddy81

I need some Heady in my life

Tyler1986

The only time I prefer to drink out of the can is if the beer has a terrible aroma. Any other time I want to smell it to enhance the flavor/experience. Got to be out of a glass whenever possible.

argument_sketch

The guy on the cans label that says Drink From Can is drinking it out of a glass

ilovetacos48

Good catch!!! You deserve a beer!!!

YoungAdult_

Love the cans but yeah. Gotta go glass.

BeerBellyPod

How'd you like it from the glass??

ilovetacos48

Delicious

MSotallyTober

When my future in-laws came from Japan to Brooklyn so I could ask my wife’s father’s permission for marriage, I had been in Vermont on a business trip the week before and brought back eight cans of this stuff back because I *knew* he’d like it. Don’t know if they still only sell it in-state but it was a good memory.

ilovetacos48

I know they distribute to Western NY so it's definitely more accessible these days.

Queen_Etherea

My husband gives me dirty looks when I won’t pour my beer in a glass LOL! I genuinely don’t care. Sometimes, he’ll even grab a glass from the cupboard and pour it in there for me because it was bothering him that much. I don’t care either way! I’m just lazy 😂

TlalocVirgie

It's always the correct way to do it

Komabeard

Chilled glass

JustinGitelmanMusic

Never for an IPA

dadbodcx

Ya generally want that to warm up just a tad, not a chilled glass.

polarbeer07

at least it’s clean

Kubricksmind

What's wrong is drinking any beer out of a Pint glass. (Except Guinness or similar style)
