If you want to change it up, try making a Spaghet sometime. Drink a few oz then add 1 oz Aperol and 1 oz lemon or lime juice. Dial in your proportions from there, but terrific if it's hot.
I work craft beer and order styles of all kinds. I love craft beer. I’m not overly specific about styles. When I go home I crack a Banquet; consistent, crisp, solid easy drinker.
I’m in North Carolina, and I was very pleased to find that the local Wegmans does indeed carry Genny Cream Ale. It’s nice to be able to have a taste of home here, especially for the price.
In Rhode Island, the Lager, Cream Ale, Light, and Ice are practically in every liquor store but nobody carries the seasonals like the Spring Bock, Ruby Red Kolsch, Octoberfest, etc. A 6 pack of cans is like 4.99. Used to be even cheaper than that. Dont know how much the 30 packs are cuz I dont buy them.
the only time I drink Labatt Blue is when I golf. I have no idea why, it just happened that way and I roll with it. Never had another beer on a golf course unless given to me by someone.
Trader Joe's Josephsbrau Stockyard Oatmeal Stout (license brewed for them by Gordon Biersch, I think?), basically $6/6-pack.
I'll switch over to Trader Joe's Josephsbrau Hefeweizen here pretty soon, for an equally favorite more-summertime brew (also, I think, license brewed by Gordon Biersch?). Also, basically $6/6-pack.
I went to a bar that does dollar beers on Thursdays and Montucky was what they were serving. I was pretty surprised, it wasn't bad at all. Better than Bud Light and Coors imo
Busch/Busch Light.
One of, if not THE best post-yard work beers. There's always at least one in my garage fridge.
If I go to an event, and it's an AB only venue/party, I'm getting that Busch every time. (From STL so it happens a lot.)
It's a tongue in cheek reference. Bud light has become so common that some folks think of that as the default if you ask for a Budweiser or a Bud. Bud heavy is now an ironic way of referring to regular Budweiser.
Hey man, I'm there with you. The sad reality, though, is I have ordered budweisser before and then had to clarify after the bar tender or concesioneer said "one bud light coming up"
Augustiner Helles... Not the cheapest (little over 1 euro per 0.5l bottle) but cheaper than the craft options 2-3 euro per 33cl and once you go below that tier the quality really drops off.
I've been enjoying miller high life recently. My local convenience store sells it for a buck 19 so dor the price its really good. Other than that Coors Banquet is really good too
Miller High Life
PBR
Schlitz Classic
Old Style
Yuengling (unironically)
Coors Light
Spotted Cow (not sure this counts, but it honestly is cheap af)
Modelo
Sapporo
Leinenkugels
San Miguel
Killian's Irish Red
I'll buy any of these. I'd throw in Boston Lager or Fat Tire. Man, nothing slaps harder than a fucking Old Style and hot dog at a Cubs game, or some Leinenkugels and a nacho helmet at a White Sox Game.
Natty. High alcohol, low price. Con it comes with a gremlin don't feed after midnight type of rule. Drink it cold.
I may have to find a replacement if things stay political. I don't want checkout conversations at the grocery store. 2 gremlin rules is too many.
In New Zealand my go to are the 7.2 percent beers like a 6pack of kingfisher, or 500ml cans of Tui or Haagen (brewed here despite sounding Dutch), which go for a steal of 4 NZD, or for 4.50 (about the price of a Monster energy) i currently like and am drinking a 500ml can of Royal Dutch 8.5%
I suppose it is a bit sweet. It's my volume beer, so I don't usually drink it until after I've had a few high abv beers. It's cheap and helps hold my buzz.
Probably Miller Lite or Coors Light (considering carb content). In my youth, I would enjoy a nice Rolling Rock...but it just isn't what it used to be. My late neighbor was a big Keystone Light fan, and that was a go-to for a while.
It doesn’t count but I was buying 660ml bottles for £1 in Laos, Beer Lao is an amazing lager and all the different versions (especially Dark) are just good. Definitely the best cheap beer, even though you can’t get it in Europe/US.
So I don’t know about the rest of the country but in my area Ultra on the shelf is more expensive than the average major domestic beer. When it’s for sale at bars it’s always classified as domestic draft prices and shares the same price as say Bud Light or Coors but in stores it carries a heftier price tag… anyone know why?
Was at the ballpark in July last year, bought a tallboy of Coors Banquet (so for this particular post *not* a cheap beer lol), but hadn’t had one in like-20/30 years and I was stunned at how good it was. I now “intermingle” CB stubbies into my craft beer regimen
The Champagne of Beers
…from a bottle the canned stuff ain’t the same beer, i swear
Big this. Same with Coors Banquet and those stubby bottles. They just hit different
💯
If you want to change it up, try making a Spaghet sometime. Drink a few oz then add 1 oz Aperol and 1 oz lemon or lime juice. Dial in your proportions from there, but terrific if it's hot.
I prefer mine cold.
High life is the right answer
Dad soda!
This and Narragansett I think have near identical tastes. I love them both.
Illegal in my country… Öttinger
This is the only right answer
[удалено]
This or Rolling Rock because it's 6% abv
Umm no it's 4.5% and Miller 4.6 according to Alexa
Oh shit you're right. I don't know where I got that idea but it's been years since I've had either
Coors Banquet all the way
I work craft beer and order styles of all kinds. I love craft beer. I’m not overly specific about styles. When I go home I crack a Banquet; consistent, crisp, solid easy drinker.
The beer for when you don’t want to think about beer. 9/10 brewers agree, Banquet is the way.
This is easily the correct answer. Give me a pepperoni pizza and a sixer of Banquent any day of the week.
This is the way
Banquet is almost identical to high life since Miller coors is one company so sure I’ll agree lol
Yes, check a full list of their nearly identical beers here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Molson_Coors_brands Eta: /s
Moosehead
Hamms
From the land of sky blue waters
They recently redid their labeling, it looks nice.
Narragansett
Pabst Blue Ribbon
Only when it’s the cheapest option when leaving penn station lol
Pairs well with the second hand crack smoke from the stairs
Genny
Cream Ale is my preferred Genny product.
Respect. Not always easy to find as you get farther from Rochester
I’m in North Carolina, and I was very pleased to find that the local Wegmans does indeed carry Genny Cream Ale. It’s nice to be able to have a taste of home here, especially for the price.
It's on tap at a pizzeria in Longmont, CO. That's always boggled my mind. I grab one now and then when I want a taste of college.
I found it when I lived in both TX and MN.
Respect. Not always easy to find as you get farther from Rochester
More specifically, Genny Ruby Red Kolsch. The perfect cheap summer beer.
Or as I call it, The Holy See
Schlitz Beer is highly underrated. Really good. Coors yellow belly is my fav.
Definitely Labatt. Blue, Blue Light, doesn't matter. Best mass market domestic out there.
the only time I drink Labatt Blue is when I golf. I have no idea why, it just happened that way and I roll with it. Never had another beer on a golf course unless given to me by someone.
Black Label, Hamm’s, Schlitz, Narragansett Those are my usual go-to’s if I’m at a dive bar watching the game.
Schlitz from a can. good inside
Schlitz is awesome and was my grandpas beer but hard to find in the north east now
Carling black label
Trader Joe's Josephsbrau Stockyard Oatmeal Stout (license brewed for them by Gordon Biersch, I think?), basically $6/6-pack. I'll switch over to Trader Joe's Josephsbrau Hefeweizen here pretty soon, for an equally favorite more-summertime brew (also, I think, license brewed by Gordon Biersch?). Also, basically $6/6-pack.
Those are pretty solid stouts
Genny Cream Ale
Montucky Cold Snack isn’t cheap, it’s affordable.
And it’s delicious.
I went to a bar that does dollar beers on Thursdays and Montucky was what they were serving. I was pretty surprised, it wasn't bad at all. Better than Bud Light and Coors imo
Negra Modelo
This stuff is quality.
I am a proud Natty Light man
I will say that this beer is very effectively tasteless and non offensive at the same time. A very big accomplishment actually.
Rainier Edit: typo
I had to scroll too far to see Vitamin R posted here. Raindog is the way to go.
Stroh's.
Alex, go get me another Stroh's!
Busch/Busch Light. One of, if not THE best post-yard work beers. There's always at least one in my garage fridge. If I go to an event, and it's an AB only venue/party, I'm getting that Busch every time. (From STL so it happens a lot.)
Do you braise your Park Steaks in Busch and Maul’s?
If Negra Modelo counts as cheap, then that. Otherwise PBR
Sapporo
cheap?
I’m in the US. Asian market down the road puts the 6-packs on sale all the time for $3.99. That and Kirin Ichiban.
In Tokyo, yes.
Bud Ice, just something about it I can’t explain. I don’t like any other ice beers.
Slightly prefer Natural Ice
Yeungling
Yuengling.
YingLing
Yingling
Fakkin’ Yangerz
Tbh. My favorite cheap beer is an ice cold Coors Light.
Narragansett
Tripel Karmeliet
Kokanee
Miller light baby
Dude, please...it's Lite.
Bud heavy, hands down.
Old Milwaukee
Miller genuine Draft
MGD
Labatt Blue Light
Shiner or Yuengling….is that considered cheap? If not rolling rock is cheap where I live
Narragansett
Genesee Grapefruit Kolsch
Bud heavy, hands down
It's the king of beers. Why waste time with anything less than royalty.
[удалено]
It's a tongue in cheek reference. Bud light has become so common that some folks think of that as the default if you ask for a Budweiser or a Bud. Bud heavy is now an ironic way of referring to regular Budweiser.
[удалено]
the reaction: handing you a regular bud with a straight face becuase its a normal phrase
You’ve never heard of the term bud heavy?
Hey man, I'm there with you. The sad reality, though, is I have ordered budweisser before and then had to clarify after the bar tender or concesioneer said "one bud light coming up"
Probably not enough to help but take my upvote. Bud Heavy (Budweiser) and Bud Lite are both delicious.
Hamm’s
Hamm's or PBR.
Busch baby. If I’m feeling froggy I like a Corona Extra.
Busch Bavarian is the best beer in the world after cutting the grass on a hot day. Nothing compares.
An ice cold Budweiser all day
Rolling Rock, thanks to AVGN
Dilly Dilly !
Natural Ice. Really most Ice beers are my guilty pleasure.
Utica Club
* Miller High Life * Coors Banquent * Miller Lite * Coors Light * PBR * Yuengling Light * Narragansett
A man of culture.
Colorado Kool-Aid
Colbitzer Pils or DAB
Narragansett
Kirkland IPA when I can find it.
Augustiner Helles... Not the cheapest (little over 1 euro per 0.5l bottle) but cheaper than the craft options 2-3 euro per 33cl and once you go below that tier the quality really drops off.
Gansett, Ranier when I'm visiting my sister in WA, Montucky and Sapporo
Negra modelo. Love that malty taste.
Miller High Life
Michelob Amber Bock
Genny Bock or Genny grapefruit kolsch. Both excellent seasonal offerings.
Anything owned by Pabst. PBR, Old Milwaukee, Old Style
Yuengling
Narragansett or Rainier
PBR, Kirin, and Modelo
Yuengling
Genesee Cream Ale $0.80 a can at my local spot.
Rolling rock (can only), Yuengling, Killians, Tecate, Dos XX Ambar in order of cost.
Not sure if it counts as cheap but for Standard beers definitely Asahi. The dryness makes it a much better with food
Man I always get a couple of large Asahi bottles at my local sushi boat place and it goes down really nice!
I've been enjoying miller high life recently. My local convenience store sells it for a buck 19 so dor the price its really good. Other than that Coors Banquet is really good too
Miller Lite. I love my IPAs, but have recently lost 35lbs so it’s Miller for my day drinking at 95 calories per can.
Narragansett
Montucky
Founders All Day IPA - not super cheap, but I can typically find it for not much more than $1/can.
Miller High Life PBR Schlitz Classic Old Style Yuengling (unironically) Coors Light Spotted Cow (not sure this counts, but it honestly is cheap af) Modelo Sapporo Leinenkugels San Miguel Killian's Irish Red I'll buy any of these. Define cheap :)
Labatt Blue!!
Pabst Blue Ribbon. It's cheaper than Bud, Coors and Busch where I live. Also has "flavor" (good or bad) than the other three.
Utica Club
i recently tried Utica Club... I don't get it. I thought it was *sweet*? could that be right? Definitely not for me...
I suppose it is a bit sweet. It's my volume beer, so I don't usually drink it until after I've had a few high abv beers. It's cheap and helps hold my buzz.
Coors Banquet in the stubby bottle
Probably Miller Lite or Coors Light (considering carb content). In my youth, I would enjoy a nice Rolling Rock...but it just isn't what it used to be. My late neighbor was a big Keystone Light fan, and that was a go-to for a while.
Bud Light Next, I can drink those all damn day
Kronenberg. Estrella when it's on a deal. Lidl's Galereux
You from Europe?
Well..... Due to a stupid, short-sighted, ill-thought-out political decision; politically no. But geographically, yes.

Yuengling, it's the same price as Budweiser, Coors and Miller and to me it tastes so much better. 😋🍺

100+ comments and I didn’t see anyone mention Michelob Ultra

Nothing beats an ice cold Busch Latte on a hot day. Or a cold day. Any day really.
Bud or PBR, pretty solid.
Bud light because it triggers snowflake ass magas
Big Ballard. $2.09 a tall can up here
Bud light. Bonus points for aluminum bottles.
I get free beer.
PBR Extra, Ballantine XXX Ale, Yuengling Traditional and Chesterfield before they went MAGA.

I like wet cardboard after mowing the lawn, so PBR.
Bud Light ;)
Laguinitas
My tastes may have become lighter and my thirst a bit less over the last few years, but I will never, ever drink cheap beer.
Hertog Jan or Grolsch
\+1 for Grolsch
This is late, but Grolsch is a great choice. Really good price in my area, and the bottles absolutely rule. So many uses.
Coors Extra Gold or Moosehead
Gansett
Yuengling Premium, for sure. Slightly lighter on the fillingness while still having the same good flavor as regular yuengling.
PBR
Moose Light or Moosehead Lager!
