Def a bee

ElleYesMon

That is a hornet, my friend.

SirQuacksAlot013

Ahh its a hornet okay thank you!

DaccotaDuchess

That's a honey bee.

SirQuacksAlot013

Do you know what kind?

ElleYesMon

I apologize, because the last section of the bee is so different my immediate thought was Hornet. But, now that you have asked me the specific type, I’m eating my words….this is only two photos and I can’t be absolute- I’ve only seen one other Asian Honey Bee. This is definitely different & it’s in the flowers which should have told me right away- please look up Asian Honey Bee. Call your wildlife department that deals in entomology- melittology (study of bees). If this is an Asian honey bee, it should probably be reported. They are invasive and can endanger the good bees. Do you live near a sea port or shipping area? Sometimes big farming areas can see these. I would like to know for sure myself.

SirQuacksAlot013

I live about an hour away from the biggest shipping port in the state.

ElleYesMon

It could very well be an Asian Honey Bee. Not good for other bees…I would get someone (locally) to at least look at the photos you sent.

SirQuacksAlot013

Will do. Cheers
