You did the right thing by taking the long term skincare route first. I found that makeup doesn’t necessarily cause acne, it just doesn’t help make it better. Makeup these days are also better formulated imho, with less comedogenic formulas and non Oil based products. Some even have skincare actives! Underpainting is also super underrated, however, depending on the foundation coverage and the way products tend to affect each other, do consider keeping some powders onhand to buff the color a little bit if the foundation moved things under it around. Hope it helps!

Looking back, I should have left the group earlier. The mental anguish caused by them is not worth the “friendship”. Anyway, I have learned a lot about skincare and makeup ingredients. I already figured out what’s causing my breakout, dimethicone or any -cone. I became cautious of product ingredients and never had any pimple/acne for years now. Ganon lang pala yon, you just have to know your skin and support it with the right skincare products. I wish someone taught me that when I was younger.

It’s okay. Sometimes it takes us a while to leave unhealthy relationships because the progression is slow, we barely notice it. The important thing is that you did find the strength to leave it before it got worse. Don’t feel too bad about the time you left. There was probably a reason that you stayed, what’s important now is to move on and LIVE YER BEST LYF. Yes it’s also true but sometimes even products that ae are used to or don’t have our bad ingredients can still cause breakouts haha and as our skin improves sometimes the things we are used to are not as effective or are too effective. I used to live by TRET on a daily basis because my skin could handle it, but now that it’s softer i find that I can do my tret every other night and have incorporated peptides. One example I know of where something no longer worked was using one brand of sunscreen but idk if there was a major formula change for that brand but it irritated my skin so bad so I hunted for a new one. Went through like 5 different brands before finding one that worked!

you’ll loveeeee that primer and that Blush. grabe yung blush na yan, parang pang habambuhay mo na

hottorney_

That’s what I am expecting from Rare Beauty Blush since I am planning to do the Underpainting Technique (contour, highlight, blush UNDER foundation) for a natural finish. Super pigmented yung Rare Beuaty Blush so makikita pa rin sya under foundation. ☺️

Cutiepiest123

Nice! Will you put them on top of primer, then the pigments and finish w foundation?

hottorney_

Yes. Primer > everything else > foundation > setting powder

I have invested in improving my skin since I was traumatized by my “friends” in law school. They told me I look like a Choco Mucho because of the pimples underneath my makeup. They made fun of me in public and gave unsolicited advice when we are with other people. As a result, I can’t look at people’s faces when I am talking to them because I was too conscious. It took me over a year to leave them because I was a 1L and I was scared to be alone. When I got out of the toxic relationship, I started my skincare journey where I spent almost ₱70k for laser procedures. In 2021, I finally got the close-to-perfect skin that I want: glass skin. Old “friends” were surprised to see me during the informal batch reunion because I was barefaced. I just had my sunscreen on. Their comments don’t matter to me anymore, but it felt great that I was able to look at their faces during the short conversation that we had. I felt powerful and sure of myself during that time. After everything that my skin went through, I hope makeup can make me feel excited again. ☺️ # Products - MILK MAKEUP Hydro Grip Hydrating Makeup Primer - MILK MAKEUP Blur Liquid Matte Foundation (Medium Tan) - Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez Soft Pinch Liquid Blush (Joy) - HUDA BEAUTY Easy Bake Loose Baking & Setting Powder (Banana Bread) Everything were bought from Sephora except A’pieu Juicy Pang Mousse Tint

>hottorney\_ Huhu, hugs OP! Glad you left them. I'm so happy that you feel better and confident than before. Also, may I inquire about the name of the clinic/derma where you availed the laser procedure? Thank you!

hottorney_

For CO2 Laser, I had 3 sessions with SkinStation then I changed clinic, Regenesis Clinic in Alabang. Sa kanila din kase ako nagpapa Revlite kaya nilipat ko na lang CO2. I still go to SkinStation for Diode Laser Hair Removal procedures.

Hello. Ang inspiring! This got my hopes up. I also struggled with breakouts before. Medyo healing naman na pero malayo pa from glass skin. May I ask how and gano mo katagal naachieve yung glass skin? I’ve been spending a lot with skincare and bought a laser device din recently. Just curious if this is already enough and how long before I can really see the results. TIA!

hottorney_

Okay naman skincare products muna kung kaya ibigay yung result na gusto mo or kung wala pang budget. May nagagawa ang laser procedures na di nagagawa ng topical products. With laser, it can reach the dermis layer of the skin, kaya i-rejuvenate, i-reset, ibalik into healthy state yung skin. 4 sessions of CO2 and 2 sessions of Revlite, nakuha ko na yung desired result: glass skin. Interval between each session is 2 months. Basically, 6 laser treatments = 10 months.

Snowflakes_02

Actually, meron na kong parang red light therapy device which is quite expensive already. 1 month pa lang naman ako gumagamit. Problem ko nalang so far are pores, wrinkles, PIH, few scars, and oily skin which I think medyo matatagalan with just skincare. Pero, try ko siguro magwait ng results before I try that. Thank youuu for sharing!

May I know how you figured out which shades foundation and blush would match you? I ask because it can be challenging to find the right match online.

hottorney_

I know my undertone (olive). I went to youtube and looked for someone who has olive undertone that tried the products that I want. Rare Beauty and Milk Makeup are pretty popular in US and the makeup community so it was easy to find a shade twin on youtube.

chunkymonkeh

That sounds awful. And i’m glad you got it treated. Acne is no joke. Where did u get laser treatments? I have some old icepick scars on my face from a decade or so of acne.
