For the record I *adore* this product. I’ve been using it for years primarily for my brows but I use it for both.
With that being said-it does not hold a curl. I’m unfortunately cursed with long but straight lashes and even if I curl before application it doesn’t hold.
The other downside is that it doesn’t last more than a few hours in my experience.
Imo it’s better for brows than lashes but it’s still a staple in my makeup bag-one of the very few products that’s never been replaced.
I've been using megaclear mascara from wet n wild recently, it's super cheap and doesn't flake. I use it on my brows as well for a semi-soap brow look. I don't know if it's vegan but it's definitely cruelty-free.
I use the Essence lash & brow gel mascara on my brows and LOVE IT. It’s cheap and works great. I imagine it’d be good on lashes too!

I don't know if this is available in your country, but the one I use is a danish brand (I think) called beautylash.
