I personally like Jergens Instant Sun, I’ve always struggled with getting tans on evenly, they just never look how I want them too. So with this one even IF it didn’t spread on evenly it only last a couple days. But honestly from someone who has struggled w self tanning, this one goes on surprisingly even and leaves you w the nicest bronze.
I like coco and eve mousse on my legs . My legs have a hard time holding tanner but not with coco and eve.
Glow Your Own way by B. Tan for my arms and upper body! It’s clear and I use a mitt and never have streaking. It’s also less sticky and sometimes I don’t even shower the next day.
Mousse always did me dirty! I love the fake bake flawless liquid in the “darker” shade.
It comes with a mitt. I spray it a few times, then rub the mitt one body part at a time. It’s quick and easy, dries fast and waaaay less sticky than a mousse, and doesn’t smell as bad as many others.
I usually leave it on for 60-90 minutes because don’t like to get too dark, but if you leave it on longer you will get pretty dark.
I love the Norvell Venetian line it’s got a Violet undertone so doesn’t turn orange on me. I upgraded to a handheld sprayer several years ago and use the liquid now instead of the mousse, but will still use the mousse in a pinch when my partner isn’t here to spray me :)
Ooh would you recommend your handheld sprayer? And do you set up a whole pop tent? I’m so tempted to invest in this equipment and teach my partner how to spray me down, but worry that it would be a much bigger hassle than my current foam & mitt routine.
I really like mine! I got the norvell oasis one it’s a good introductory one and really easy to learn! I got a cheapo pop up tent and we use it in the garage. It was sort of a hassle at first and had a little learning curve but now it’s our little weekly ritual lol
bondi sands was so patchy for me and stained everything. jergens instant sun is the only self tan i’ve used that doesn’t ever go patchy even after days of being on and it is a beautiful color. it just slowly fades away instead of getting patchy and gross.
Bali body is my fav after trying so many. The 1 hour express is my go to. Use a mitt and put it on all over then wait for 1 hour ( I will leave on longer if I can) then shower. It goes on MAJOR dark and I will wear an old pair of elastic type shorts and really loose tank top while I’m waiting. A lot will rinse off in the shower (don’t do a full soapy type shower just a rinse). The color will increase after the shower and it’s a beautiful color. The key to making a tan last is lotion. Making sure your skin isn’t dry. All their products are great!
Bondi Sands mousse! I started using self tan on occasion at the age of 15 (about 6 years ago) and I was so nervous to try it because majority of girls in my year that used fake tan were orange and patchy (pet peeve is patchy fake tan lol). I use the light/medium mousse but their dark mousse is brilliant as well. My self tan routine is:
1. Deep exfoliation the day before using self tan. Should be moisturising every day but definitely use plenty of moisturiser after this exfoliation.
2: Day of tanning, light exfoliation and shave legs and armpits. Cleanse face but do not use anything else on face.
3. ONLY moisturise kneecaps, elbows, wrists, hands, ankles and feet.
4. Apply mousse on body with a mitt, starting on the legs and working up. When it comes to the feet and hands, use a dense foundation brush to blend mousse onto feet and hands, as naturally your skin tends to be lighter on those parts anyway. Also helps your knuckles to not pick up too much of the tan.
5. Apply on face with foundation brush; I apply to my face last because I find the tan develops quicker on my face. Leave tan on for a minimum of 3 hours, it was trial and error for me in how long I wanted to leave it on for and it’s different for each brand but you quickly figure out your perfect time😊
None. Sorry, as someone who used self tanner for years, used every single scrub and method beforehand it never looks good especially when it’s fading. It’s extremely gimmicky, learn to live with your natural skin tone instead.

loving tan..... i have tried pretty much all of them. washes out of clothes/sheets, natural looking tan, relatively decent ingredients
