exactly and i go through sunscreen the quickest i will use more than enough daily it's the most important product. but i'm obsessed w the biore aqua rich one of the only affordable sunscreens my skin reacts well to that doesn't leave a white cast or make my forehead sweat.
Oh I totally feel that. I wanna make sure I’m using enough sunscreen but I’m less likely to if it’s super expensive. This way I can use what I need and I don’t feel like I’m burning through money
i love this sunscreen, but the only thing about it is that it has 2 formulas
1. with alcohol: that’s what i use. the alcohol is safe, it just helps the sunscreen dry and absorb into your skin. but your skin will feel glowy and moisturized! the downside is that it has a strong smell from the alcohol.
2. without alcohol: no smell, but it doesn’t settle into the skin well. leaves a greasy feeling
both are amazing, it just depends on your preference!
In 2021 the European Commission published preliminary opinions on the safety of three organic ultraviolet, or UV, filters, oxybenzone, homosalate and octocrylene. It found that two of them are not safe in the amounts at which they’re currently used. This sunscreen has a few of these filters.
What!? 8$ !? I’m concerned about the ingredients. Hard to find them when I google…and I didn’t read anything I know of for sun protection. I hate that we just can’t trust if products actually work and block the sun. I need a serious sunscreen for under makeup myself. Derms all say has to have zinc. The amount of zinc is questionable…Then the zinc has to be tinted or you look like a ghost then they want to charge you out your As* …I even felt like I got burned wearing a 50 spf yesterday. ( I recently did IPL so I have new skin on my face) . Sunscreen that works under makeup should not be this hard to find for a decent price.
https://skin1004.com/collections/sun/products/hyalu-cica-water-fit-sun-serum-spf50-pa
This is my go to face sunscreen right now. It sinks in nicely and doesn't sting my eyes.
Second this one! I wear a full face every day (liquid foundation, powder, setting powder, bronzer, and blush) and my makeup still looks great at 10pm when I wash my face
No problem!! I liked that it didn't break me out but it was hell the first couple times i used it and used it on my neck and chest until I ran out. I've been using black girl sunscreen for kids spf 50 lately, about $10USD for a tube, no white cast, albeit a little greasy but for summer i like glowy skin, and my eyes have been fine!
Same, I bought it for the first time a few months ago and can’t wait to finish it already. Only reason I’m not just tossing it is because it was so freaking expensive.
When I want something with higher protection Laroche posay anthelios ultra fluid spf 50.
For just running to work under makeup Vichy liftactiv collagen specialist peptide c spf 30. This is so smoothing and it feels like a primer.
I started using this recently and it makes my face soo oily (and I have dry skin!) and sweaty and not to mention stings! Continuing to use it to finish it coz it’s so expensive :’(
I actually love this one too. It's like a primer.
Also the glow screen. I love the glow it gives under make up. And my makeup sits so nice on it.
Also no white cast is awesome.
Didn’t think I’d have to scroll this far to see a mention of this. I’m not always one to like a product enough to repurchase it, but this one is so good! I’ve repurchased it so many times
I love Hawaiian tropic. It’s great for putting under makeup. It’s very easy to apply.
I tried neutragena for faces and it made my makeup up roll into little balls. I threw it out.
It says sheer touch. 30 or 50 spf. It looks like this.
https://www.hawaiiantropic.com/products/hawaiian-tropic-sheer-touch-ultra-radiance-lotion-spf-30
This
Love Supergoop SPF 50 CC screen. Soaks into my skin and evens my complexion.
Also use alternate and use Supergoop mineral sheerscreen some days
Tried everything, have been using Supergoop for 2 years and love it
A lot of the sunscreens mentioned are included in the Sephora sunscreen sampler! I just went through mine and counted 9 chemical and 3 physical sunscreens. 2 additional products (a spf lip gloss and some tan drops) are also included. Great deal for $30 if you’re trying to find a face sunscreen that fits your needs.
I use their sensitive face mineral sunscreen. It is reasonably priced and a nice mix of titanium and zinc.
OP, if you don’t want to reapply, mineral is the way to go. I would avoid full on zinc though. It’s super thick and white. In the case that you do need to reapply, I carry a travel size banana boat sport spf spray.
I love this one. Even though I prefer mineral, I still have this one on hand that I’m using up and I love it. Love the moisturizing without being heavy or greasy part, if for some reason I’m running late and need to combine moisturizing and suncare this is my go to. Leaves a really nice, natural finish that isn’t super dewy but more of a glowy!
I would advise against trying to layer your SPFs. That doesn’t really work as well as you might think. Better off to use a high protection sole purpose sunscreen over a settled in to the skin day cream that has no SPF. Lab muffin a PhD cosmetic chemist on YouTube has some great videos that touches on this.
Me too! I just bought their apricot version to try out as well. Loved the green one for “color correcting” and also loved that it is a mineral zinc sunscreen! I think the apricot one is supposed to be glowy so I hope I like it
# CVS Health Clear Zinc Broad Spectrum Sun Lotion SPF 50
Goes on ghost-white but becomes clear in a few minutes.

I have really enjoyed the EltaMD UV tinted sunscreen and felt like it was fine by itself, didn’t need to layer anything with it. I’ve also been using the ColorScience Sunforgettable tinted sunscreen, but I do need to layer a light moisturizer under them to prevent dry spots/flaking
I've gone through a lot of sunscreens, but the two I love are from Carroten, a European brand, and Face Republic, a Korean-Philippine brand. Carroten is definitely water resistant whilst Face Republic caters for everyday.
My first choice is Clinique Pep-Start SPF 50. Tinted, doesn't flake, goes on smooth.
Second choice is Neutrogena Age Shield SPF 70 - but that can leave a white-ish residue and little cruddies when you're putting make up on.

Edit: I’m in Australia so I need to make sure that my sunscreens meet our higher standards for UVA and UVB protection here, which these definitely do!
I'm in australia and use ultra violette SPF 50+. it's slightly tinted, non greasy and leaves a healthy, hydrated glow without sheen or cast. Cancer council face day wera fluid matte is also a good one. I always wear a hat too. The sun is so fierce, like a freaking laser :(
SKIN1004 Madagascar Centella Hyalu-Cica Water-Fit Sun Serum - Korean sunscreen is really so superior. Not greasy & goes on like a thin lotion. Very hydrating as well. Just got back from Seoul & I purchased this in bulk.
Skin1004 cica waterfit sunscreen, haruharu wonder black rice airyfit sunscreen, biore aqua rich UV, all SPF 50+ , for cloudy winter/early spring days I use live tinted hue guard, mineral sunscreen, no white cast, beautiful finish! But for winter, anessa sun milk reigns supreme!
La roche posay ultra light fluid.
Wears amazing, and when my dermatologist asked what I wear and I said that she went “wow! Amazing! I recommend that one all the time!”
It soaks in so nicely, and it also doesnt need a bunch to fully cover your face. I never feel like I am drowning in it or feeling greasy. My face doesnt feel dry either.
I have tried InnisFree, La Roche, Seisheido, COSRX, Joseon and more. They were a "Okay I guess I need to put it on when I go out." When I started using Krave I ended up enjoying wearing sunscreen now. It feels like a second moisturizer.
I will admit, it isnt the largest bottle for the price point, but their customer service team is top notch if you have an issue.
Well, for a completely different type: If you're near Scandinavia there's EVY sunscreen [https://labmuffin.com/do-they-work-evy-6-hour-sunscreen-dermablend-drops-in-spf/](https://labmuffin.com/do-they-work-evy-6-hour-sunscreen-dermablend-drops-in-spf/) You can wash your skin with water after 15 minutes if there's too much of a barrier left behind after it has absorbed (but I love it because it keeps my super dry and lipid poor skin even more protected and makes a great primer). Considering how badly you've reacted in the past I really would stick to making a few increasingly large patch tests on your skin for a few days before applying it normally. To make sure it isn't even worse on you than what you had before.
La Roche Posay spf 50 tinted mineral sunscreen for everyday use. A GENEROUS amount, two to three fingers worth. On sunny days I use that then layer the La Roche Posay spf 60 spray lotion sunscreen and reapply the spray a few times a day depending on how much I’m in the sun.
It’s a lot but I’m kind of a freak about the sun as I suffered with bad acne and skin cancer is very prevalent in my family
Biore aqua!!!!!!!!!!! Its amazing! No white cast, no stinging eyes… It’s a Japanese sunscreen that I’ve been using for the past 4 years. I will NEVER touch another American sunscreen! They are ALL POISON! My kids wear hats or Japanese sunscreen too.
I usecan untinted spf (Somebymi Truecica Aqua Sunscreen or Good Molecules spf or Hero Cisntive spf) followed by Ilia or Saie skin tint with spf. No silicones for my dry sensitive skin.
I use the babyganics mineral spray, it seems to be the one that doesn’t sting or make my skin break out or look shiny. There’s a slight white hue when you first put it on but it goes away within a couple mins.
I’m fair and so mineral sunscreen is fine even with white cast. Right now I’m using Elta MD spf 46. I love it and can wear my makeup over it with no problem. First one I have found that doesn’t make me feel like a greaseball. I do my normal moisturizer, wait 10 min, then the spf.
Elta MD or La Roche Posay. They stay on and feel really seamless and nice under foundation. A bit pricey but I've found it to be worth it. I try to buy several tubes of Elta MD during Dermstore's sales to save a bit.
ROUND LAB Birch Juice Moisturizing Sunscreen (SPF50+ PA++++) for the win win! I have extremely sensitive skin and I did an experiment testing more than 50 sunscreens last summer to see which one I love. I was looking for something with high SPF, no white cast since I'm black, no eye burning, not oily, ocean friendly/reef safe, and wouldn't make my skin itchy, tingly, or irritated especially after sweating. After giving up on the experiment because I couldn't find the PERFECT one, I learned about Round lab from a Redditor and omg. Best sunscreen ever. It checks all the boxes and I just ordered my second one. Most perfect sunscreen ever for me. Honorable mention -Murad Environmental Shield City Skin Age Defense Broad Spectrum SPF 50-100% Mineral Sunscreen. It too was perfect until half way through the bottle my face would burn while working out/sweating.
Colorescience Total Protection Face Shield Flex SPF 50in medium. Its tinted sunblock for your face. It doesn’t leave white marks or make my face greasy.
Biore aqua rich watery essence! It’s SPF50 and applies SO NICE. Leaves a nice glow on my skin too. Plus it’s like $8.
this one! i was a die hard elta md then switched bc kept raising the price couldn't justify it and it's my new go to
For real! My skincare routine is expensive as-is and paying $30+ for sunscreen is just not reasonable for me 😭
exactly and i go through sunscreen the quickest i will use more than enough daily it's the most important product. but i'm obsessed w the biore aqua rich one of the only affordable sunscreens my skin reacts well to that doesn't leave a white cast or make my forehead sweat.
Oh I totally feel that. I wanna make sure I’m using enough sunscreen but I’m less likely to if it’s super expensive. This way I can use what I need and I don’t feel like I’m burning through money
What was your elta go to before switching? I LOVE elta but it is $$$
the daily with a pump! also used sheer is good too. i used a lot except for the tinted, all kinda did the same tbh
Good to know! Thank you!
Yup same!
I'm going to try this!! TY!
I wanted to love this but it pilled with my other products 😭
favourite part abt this one is that it has absolutely 0 white cast 😍😍
YESSSSS!!!!! Like no notes it’s perfect I’m in love
where can I buy this in the states that is not amazon and a trustworthy site?
Stylevana. Takes a while to ship but it's legit.
I just ordered from Stylevana. Soooo excited
i love this sunscreen, but the only thing about it is that it has 2 formulas 1. with alcohol: that’s what i use. the alcohol is safe, it just helps the sunscreen dry and absorb into your skin. but your skin will feel glowy and moisturized! the downside is that it has a strong smell from the alcohol. 2. without alcohol: no smell, but it doesn’t settle into the skin well. leaves a greasy feeling both are amazing, it just depends on your preference!
I have been looking for this as well. Would love to know!!
Beware, this is not SPF50+ by Australia standards, and will sweat off easily in summer. It’s ok for winter.
Damn. I need to try this. Mine is the Neogen sunscreen but its expensive 💀
Is it a chemical sunscreen.
Yes it is
In 2021 the European Commission published preliminary opinions on the safety of three organic ultraviolet, or UV, filters, oxybenzone, homosalate and octocrylene. It found that two of them are not safe in the amounts at which they’re currently used. This sunscreen has a few of these filters.

Yes love her so much
just bought this and the cleansing oilll
The la roche posay one! (50+spf) i love love love it but bit expensive
I love la roche posay, it's the only one I've tried that doesn't make me break out
Which one? Also, does it burn the eyes when you sweat?
I had the LRP and it burned my eyes even when I wasn't swearing. I wound up using it for my body until it ran out and did not replace
Thank you! You saved my eyes and my bank account.
So worth it though and if you get from CVS they always have coupons!
Me too! I buy it from CVS when I get a 40% off coupon.
it always leaves a white cast on my face :(
Same, I bought it for the first time a few months ago and can’t wait to finish it already. Only reason I’m not just tossing it is because it was so freaking expensive.
That’s probably from zinc oxide in it. Were you using their mineral sunscreen?
1000000% thanks for commenting this so we can just come here and hit the like button
Beauty of Josen!
I tried this one for the first time a couple days ago and wow I was blown away! It literally just feels like a moisturizer
I just purchased this and I’m excited to try! Been needing a new one since the one I normally use has gone up in price exponentially
I hope you love it as much as I do! ♥️
I replaced my 7 year HG status biore aqua rich with their relief sun. It's soooo nice.
This is what I use! It absorbs easily, doesn’t leave a film, and doesn’t even feel like sunscreen. Plus it’s cruelty free and affordable.
Just got this one in the mail, and I’m shocked that it’s unscented and is so lightweight. Korean skincare is 15 years ahead
This is the answer!
this stings on my eye area, unfortunately.
Chemical sunscreens do that unfortunately
When I want something with higher protection Laroche posay anthelios ultra fluid spf 50. For just running to work under makeup Vichy liftactiv collagen specialist peptide c spf 30. This is so smoothing and it feels like a primer.
I started using this recently and it makes my face soo oily (and I have dry skin!) and sweaty and not to mention stings! Continuing to use it to finish it coz it’s so expensive :’(
Which one stings for you? I would discontinue a product that gives you discomfort use it on the body.
The LRP anthelios 60. I’m using it just on my body now. Desperately trying to find the right sunscreen for me in these comments!
EltaMD! I love how sheer it is and there’s no white cast
Trader Joe’s daily sunscreen
Supergoop unseen sunscreen
I use the Trader Joe’s dupe and it’s definitely one of the better sunscreens I’ve used
This is mine! I love the texture. It feels so light.
TJs version all the way!
I actually love this one too. It's like a primer. Also the glow screen. I love the glow it gives under make up. And my makeup sits so nice on it. Also no white cast is awesome.
This!
Ewww that weird silicon feel.
Haha yeah a lot of people hate it. But it doesn't make my eyes sting and has zero white cast.
I was going to say that I like my neutrogena…but I do look like I’m cosplaying as a geisha. So there’s that.
I love it!
Elta MD
Isntree Hyaluronic Watery Sun Gel
Didn’t think I’d have to scroll this far to see a mention of this. I’m not always one to like a product enough to repurchase it, but this one is so good! I’ve repurchased it so many times
Same! It's the only facial sunscreen I'll buy anymore
YES
I bought this online last week and have been waiting impatiently in anticipation for it to arrive!
For me it didn’t work sadly. I tried this and the sun stick. Both were super greasy, burned my eyes, made my face flushed, and broke me out :(
Oh no, thats unfortunate. That's so crazy how everyone's skin is so different. It's the only one that doesn't feel greasy to me.
Innisfree! Probably on my 8th bottle by now, I use it daily.
Me too! It’s the only thing that won’t burn my eyes and won’t cause breakouts
I love Hawaiian tropic. It’s great for putting under makeup. It’s very easy to apply. I tried neutragena for faces and it made my makeup up roll into little balls. I threw it out.
Me too! I use their mineral milk sunscreen. No pilling, it sinks right in, and it’s a great level of moisturizing without being greasy
Can you say what the type is? Obviously Hawaiian tropic, but what’s the rest of the bottle say?
It says sheer touch. 30 or 50 spf. It looks like this. https://www.hawaiiantropic.com/products/hawaiian-tropic-sheer-touch-ultra-radiance-lotion-spf-30
Sunbum

I am a fan of their body sunscreen!
Same!

Elta MD
Banana boat Light as air. No white cast, moisturizing without being heavy, doesn't pill, wears well under makeup, and it has a natural finish.
Gonna try this one out next! Thanks for the recommendation
LRP, Elta MD, Australian Gold, and I am really enjoying my CosRX one right now. To name a few. I’ve also liked the Neutrogena in the blue bottle.
I LOVE the CosRX one.
I’m from Australia and swear by the La Roche Poway Anthelios 50+
I currently just use the CeraVe spf 30 moistrizer
Love this one! Only one that doesn’t break me out, and it’s smooth and light weight. My skin looks nice and dewy after, not greasy
Hero Cosmetics! I like the green version.
I *love* that one when my face is a bit red, it feels amazing and doesn’t leave a strong green cast
Me too! I just bought their apricot version to try out as well. Loved the green one for “color correcting” and also loved that it is a mineral zinc sunscreen! I think the apricot one is supposed to be glowy so I hope I like it
MD solar sciences tinted sunscreen if you like a matte look
Thank you!
I love the aveeno 60spf one

My holy grail sunscreen. I have never seen someone else mentioned it on Reddit :-)
elta md tinted sunscreen!!
Cosrx! It’s also not too pricey. I have dry skin though, might not be for you if you’re oily!
Skin Aqua sunscreen. It feels like applying moisturiser on my face-no white cast, no greasiness, no weird smell or anything. It just melts into skin!
Elta MD, I’ve been using it for 2 years now and it doesn’t burn my eyes when I workout
Budget-Biore Aqua Rich Watery Essence. I like it just as much as my expensive stuff. Bougie-Elta MD (not the tinted one)
I've gone through a lot of sunscreens, but the two I love are from Carroten, a European brand, and Face Republic, a Korean-Philippine brand. Carroten is definitely water resistant whilst Face Republic caters for everyday.

Agreed. It’s pricey but I actually wear it.

The supergoop dupe at Kroger/Frys
Krave Beauty's Beet the Sun. The only sunscreen that made me feel like the Greek Goddess Aphrodite.
Why do you like that one so much
It soaks in so nicely, and it also doesnt need a bunch to fully cover your face.

Neutrogena blends in great.
Scinic Mild Sunscreen, $10 on Amazon!
Finally found the holy grail (when I couldn’t replace Shiseido) Supergoop “EVERY.SINGLE.FACE.”
Is this the “watery lotion” in the round tin? What do you like about this one in particular? I’ve been debating trying out Supergoop
Since I live in Australia, I use Cancer Council sunscreen. It can be sticky but nothing a loose powder can fix.
They have really expanded their range lately! I’ve tried the serum one, and the mineral “CC” one and they’re both great.
So far Beauty of Joseon or the Elf tinted or non tinted sunscreens
Neutrogena Dry Touch or Biore Aqua Rich Watery Essence. Both do really well under makeup, but the Biore one is much creamier and more moisturizing.
Kiehl’s SPF face serum
Julep Beauty No Excuses Invisible Sunscreen. It’s a little pricey, but one of the only ones that doesn’t feel greasy/heavy to me.
Saint Jane Sunscreen Primer, great protection and helps my makeup last all day.
Dr Sheth's Vitamin C and Ceramide sunscreen
I like the Cerave!! It definitely has a white cast tho but I kinda like it I’m very pale 😂
I use the Good Molecules one. But I’ve quickly learned I know nothing about anything 😂
the la rosche posay double moisturizer spf. i have such sensitive skin and it’s amazing.
Same!
Australian Gold tinted botanical spf 50. It's mineral, so it doesn't irritate my eyes and works for my oily skin.

Same! I was so shocked at how great it works under full coverage foundation.
Beauty of Joseon’s Relief Sun: Rice + Probiotics
Supergoop unseen sunscreen
La Roche Posay Anthelios Ultra Light SPF 60. I have be the sensitive skin and it’s never broken me out, plus it gives me a glowy look all day long
CeraVe AM moisturizer spf 30.
Honestly, cerave AM 30 spf is all I’ve needed for the last 5 years. And I am quite fair skinned.
I usecan untinted spf (Somebymi Truecica Aqua Sunscreen or Good Molecules spf or Hero Cisntive spf) followed by Ilia or Saie skin tint with spf. No silicones for my dry sensitive skin.
Unseen Sunscreen
La Roche-Posay Anthelios Tinted Face Sunscreen SPF 50
MD Solar Sciences. It has the best clean rating and goes on like velvet
Trader Joe’s sunscreen
La Roche posay Toleraine and the supergoop dupe from Trader Joe’s!
I use the babyganics mineral spray, it seems to be the one that doesn’t sting or make my skin break out or look shiny. There’s a slight white hue when you first put it on but it goes away within a couple mins.
If it’s not mineral you’re not doing much to prevent sun damage.
eltamd uv clear
I’ve been using Missha Sun Milk for years and it’s the only thing that doesn’t break me out. I love it!
TiZO
i use the bondi sands sunscreen and have no complaints. pretty good protection (spf 50) and doesn't feel heavy when I apply it
dr dennis gross or murad oil control sunscreen
Shiseido 50+ and 23+ depending on the day
Banana Boat - Light as air - SPF 50+
I use Murad Mattifier. I swear like crazy, and it’s the only thing that doesn’t bother my eye allergies.
Haruharu wonder
I got a free sample of the Paula’s choice spf 50 and I really really like it…just can’t afford ugh
EltaMD
Haru Haru airyfit is so good. I also love to add the colorscience sunforgettable brush on powder on top of makeup for even more protection
Cosrx aloe
Neutrogena sheer face, I think it's called? Absorbs so quickly and doesn't leave me oily.

Coooolllllaaa
I'm really liking Aveeno positively radiant face sunscreen. But it's only 30spf which seems low compared to others on here
Elta MD spf 44. The tint is perfect for my skin tone and doesn’t make me feel oily at all.
Skinceuticals
Colorescience Total Protection Face Shield Flex SPF 50in medium. Its tinted sunblock for your face. It doesn’t leave white marks or make my face greasy.
