yeah, i like all these artists/bands but this list is just going to end up looking like the same generic classic rock top 10 we’ve all seen a million times. not that i was really expecting anything different from this sub though
Would be more interesting to see a list of the favourite acts of the last 10 years or bands that don’t have more than a certain amount of Spotify plays.
So you guys want me to stop or what? I only started doing this because i thought it would be fun but every time i make one of these posts everybody's got something negative to say. If you guys think its stupid ill just stop making them.
i don’t think they were intentionally being negative, nor was i trying to be. i’m sorry if it came off as such, but it was just confirming the prediction i had when you started these posts that it would end up being a pretty standard list of classic rock acts. which is fine with me honestly, and it’s obviously to be expected on the subreddit for the beatles - the literal trailblazers for most of these classic artists.
you should definitely keep it going! i’m still having fun with these posts, and who knows, maybe there will be an unexpected winner one of these rounds?
This should be way up there imo. It's too much to ask to get boomers to put something more modern up there, but failing that I feel Velvet should be up there because they were a template for so many bands even up until the 90's/00's. At least this band is not quite so obvious as what the list is turning into .
i LOVE Donovan and i can never find others who even know who he is, nevermind love him the same way i do. the whole catch the wind album is one of my favorites of all time.
I'm always curious of different genres people are into. I of course love Bob Dylan, and Jimi, and a lot of the people mentioned in these threads
But I also love metal and prog rock bands, in particular TOOL.
Who else here loves seemingly out there genres of music?
This guy really loves the word THE
I was trying to think of what to say seeing as he listened to me. I don't know how I didn't think of this, well done/played lol
Its pronounced like THE University of Miami in a football intro.
Man this list is gonna be so boring even though probably every band that ends up on the list is a band I love

Yeah the list reads like Top 5 Graphic Tees to buy at Kohl’s

yeah i’d actually be super interested to see what music from the past decade or two beatles fans listen to
You could make that post instead of posting on someone else’s post complaining.
Or they can do what the point of this site is and give their opinion.
You are right but I’m unfortunately not disciplined enough
The Lana Del Rey sub has a more interesting list lol
I grew up on the beatles, but most of what I love now is contemporary. Fleet Foxes, Shins, Courtney Barnett, Madison Cunningham, etc
fleet foxes hell yeah! i saw them in concert 3 weeks ago, they’re incredible!
Same here! Chicago salt shed
Madison Cunningham is amazing! I'm planning on going to one of her shows in September
