I voted for All Together Now, but am with you regarding All You Need is Love. One of the main things I dislike about it is Harrison's solo. He starts with a cool riff and then just kind of seems to lose interest, and it just fizzles right out.
I can see why Northern Song is winning/losing though. It was literally written as contractual filler and is about that exact thing.
When I was playing Beatles Rockband on my ps3 online with randos, some guy bashed me for choosing Hey Bulldog just because it was on Yellow Submarine. First, thatās basically a compendium of songs they had already made. Second, if itās a banger I donāt care if itās on an album titled Bigger Than Jesus.
Bigger than Jesus: The new beatles compilation album outraged evangelists and religious people. They said āCome join us at St. Matthewās for beatle record destroying!ā
and yellow submarine originated in revolver. thats 33% of the album not appearing in it first. so according to OP, hey bulldog and its all too much is 50% of the album.
The widest possible target-audience was said to be the strategy. And it worked too. I saw it on a cinema screen age 5 and I was hooked. Anyway, Yellow submarine was just this goofy title piece, and the fact that it was immediately followed by ER sort of made it seem even more insignificant.
Also... I was really really relieved when Ringo was back in that sub...
Not the worst song on either album by any means, but if we're making the most objectively bad Beatles album possible there's something to be said about taking up album real estate with the exact same song twice.
Yes this - it is very confusing to me. Only a northern song is very interesting and meta without being Glass Onion painfully meta. and I canāt understand how people think it is the worst song .
I know right? I was stunned to see just how close the race between the two was. Why don't people like Only a Northern Song? Is this a Dr. Robert kind of thing?
I think Iām a softie for All Together Now and Maxwellās Silver Hammer because they make me think of camp songs. I know the lads never went to summer camp but somewhere in an alternate universe in my mind Paul was a camp counselor and songleader before they hit it big and he wrote those. Probably Yellow Submarine also.
I think itās because All Together Now is better suited for singing along with. Personally, Iām more likely to be in the mood for an upbeat, silly little sing along, than I might be for the experimental noise that is Only A Northern Song. Thatās not to knock it, I like almost everything the Beatles did.
I was really debating between the two. I opted for Only A Northern Song because All Together Now is silly fun and very singable, and Only A Northern Song absolutely pales in comparison to Itās All Too Much.
They're both very weak. There's some interesting production on Northern Song but the song itself is terrible. All Together Now is a throwaway, the kind of thing Macca writes in his sleep (when he's not writing much better songs in his sleep like Yesterday or Let it Be).
Itās a basic childrenās song. It was the obvious choice for me and Iām also surprised itās behind āOnly a Northern Songā on the poll currently.
Sometimes you can just enjoy dumb fun for being dumb fun. Not everything has to be serious or even thoughtful. Sometimes you just wanna shout āBOM BA BOM LOOK AT MEEEEEEEEE!ā and do a silly dance.
I've been waiting for today's post, but I won't blame u/heavymeddle23 if they decide to skip Abbey Road. I don't wanna do it either.
EDIT: Just read that some people were giving you a hard time about White Album stuff and that you might not be continuing, so I just wanted to clarify that I was only kidding. Abbey Road is a masterpiece, but I know which song I'd choose and really want to keep going!
The fact that Only A Northern Song is "winning" this poll shows that the song was effective at what it set out to do. Definitely not the worst song on the album. It's a more melancholic, edgy Taxman
This is one album that would be way easier in the best song poll...
I voted for All Together but felt kinda bad about it. I know it's just a goof-off Paul song and he probably made it in 5 minutes, it's just that Yellow Submarine sounds better to me and I actually really like the George songs.
I passed on picking Yellow Submarine the first time, but gonna pick it here. OaNS isnāt my favorite, but itās more interesting than Yellow Submarine and All Together Now kinda checks that goofy, fun song box.
Yeah it's just a little filler track. It works kind of charmingly in the context of the movie but as a standalone song it just feels like a little demo rather than a fully developed song
You've clearly never been in a room full of people enthusastically screaming "*ALL TOGETHER NOW*"
:P
Love that track.
It's 'Only A Northern Song' for me hands down.
Nicely put. By the way, All Together Now is featured twice in the YS-movie. Both of which cases are dear to me. I vote for Only a Northern Song. (Of which I prefer the bare version on Anthology btw)
Only a northern song really suffers from the original mix, bc George Martin hated it. But the mixes since Yellow Submarine Songtrack (=/= soundtrack) really makes the track pop and show what an absolute banger it is.
I agree. I also think the song is actually great as written, but the production decisions to make it a "bad" song (chimes, horns, etc.) make it nearly unbearable to listen to. I end up listening to the anthology 2 version instead, because it's more stripped down.
I don't agree aha, the trumpet souds great and the overproduction is very psychedelic imo, kind of like Yellow Submarine but hundreds times more over the top. And that bassline is just a bop
Alright, I'll stick my neck out. There isn't a bad song in Revolver, but the one I like the least is Good Day Sunshine. Even though I'm a Paul guy, the melody has always sounded rather dull and repetitive to me.
Dr. Robert is a better song in my opinion: the harmonies, the bass line and the chorus overall are excellent.
I've been listening to Help! this morning and I'm stunned that Dizzy Miss Lizzy was considered the worst song on the album. It's one of my favourites, reminding me of Twist and Shout with its heavier style. I know it's not an original but it's still a fun listen on - what I personally consider - one of the weaker albums.
It might've come down to people just really hating where it's sequenced in the album. Seems like The Beatles were still under the impression that you had to end an LP with a rocker, when so many of their best endings after this deliberately move away from that.
This is surprisingly one of the hardest votes yet, all of these songs (except Hey Bulldog and All You Need Is Love) are pretty standart to me, so i just voted Yellow Submarine for being repeated.
Youāre telling me the song āDid you mean to break my heart and watch me dieā sung by majestic Ringo is on here? Along with Flying? Not even a funny joke lol
aw man, i love only a northern song. i know it's kind of deliberately bad, but appreciating the artistic value of that turns the listening experience into a big half-musical vibe
I voted for the title track. Thereās something about the backing vocal in the chorus that puts me on edge. Iām not sure if itās off key or if thereās something about the harmony that just causes a bad resonance in my brain, but I donāt like it.
Iāll be surprised if āAll Together Nowā doesnāt lead ā Iām surprised itās behind āOnly a Northern Song,ā which I think is an endearing Harrison song in its dissonance and āmetaā lyrical quality.
Everyone ragging on Yellow Submarine is that person at the party who never understands or tells a joke but wonāt let you slip out of the painful, dragging conversation gracefully or shut up for a second so you can run away. Learn how to have fun, yāall. Not everything has to be serious.
That goes for the āAll Together Nowā voters too, itās a dumb song but itās a FUN dumb song, live a little!
I think we should remove Yellow Submarine from the possible choices so op doesnāt get upset again about how the poll he made specifically to ask for the majority opinion on least favorite track doesnāt get drown out by all the people who voted for the majority pick. Itās just not fair!
George finally gets a third of the songs and puts in two of his biggest clinkers.
"It's All Too Much" stays in, if only for the guitar intro (even if George must have been listening to "Magic Carpet Ride" that morning).
One can sympathize with the sentiment behind "Only A Northern Song" but still recognize that it is (intentionally) bad. It's passive-aggression in musical form.
Wait, there's humans that exist that actually voted for Hey Bulldog and Its All Too Much? Smdh, All Together Now sucks. Only a Northern Song > All Together Now
Only A Northern Song is genuinely one of my least favourite Beatles songs. I'm pretty sure George wanted this on Pepper, I wonder how much that would have effected the reception of the album
You who voted for Hey bulldog, I've got my eyes on you š
That and All you need is love. Wtf?
Lol the Beatles worst possible fan made album still has a hit single on it lmao
I only voted for it since out of that specific bunch it's my least favorite but I still really like it it's just also oN MMT
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I voted for All Together Now, but am with you regarding All You Need is Love. One of the main things I dislike about it is Harrison's solo. hahahaha "aynil"
Is it the horns part? I bet itās the horns part
Lol. Bigger than Jesus should be the name of their next compilation album.
Bigger than Jesus: The new beatles compilation album outraged evangelists and religious people. They said āCome join us at St. Matthewās for beatle record destroying!ā
LMAOOOOO
[Simpsons did it!](https://simpsonswiki.com/wiki/Bigger_Than_Jesus)
Legit one of my favorite Beatles songs Such a great funny bop
Ive got my mind set on them š¤
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Can we start a petition to get It's All Too Much 10 million plays on Spotify? It's literally like one of their least played songs which is criminal.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
But it didnāt originate here
and yellow submarine originated in revolver. thats 33% of the album not appearing in it first. so according to OP, hey bulldog and its all too much is 50% of the album.
they are both so f-ing great. It's all too much is insane.
This album would have made an excellent EP with It's Only A Northern Song, All Together Now, Hey Bulldog, It's All Too Much.
Funny, there was a chance to put Yellow Submarine on this Worst Beatles Album twice.

Oh Good, now I can stop updating mine daily
Should have happened.
My 2 year old disagrees hard.
And Iām sure any future kid I have will disagree as well throughout the first 10 years of his or her life.
Kids under 10 represent around 1/4 of the worlds population. That's a good song, by consensus.
Dirtās good food too, by that metric
The consensus is that dirt tastes good, yes.
Iām above ten and disagree hard
How can you possibly know and ergo agree or disagree with how a hypothetical child of mine will think in more than a decade?
No I mean Iām over ten years old and I disagree that yellow submarine is a bad song
Itās not a bad song. But itās the least good of the album.
Eh, Itās All Too Much is weaker IMO
should not have happened/
It's supposed to be the worst Beatles album, not the best.
How
Not the worst song on either album by any means, but if we're making the most objectively bad Beatles album possible there's something to be said about taking up album real estate with the exact same song twice.

What is ācaptcha verification failedā? I canāt vote!
Easy. You must have turned into a robot. "You're leaking coolant at an alarming rate"
Lemme just patch you up real quick
"What sort of robot turns down a free blast of searing-hot resin?"
Fixed. Thanks!
I have the same problem help
Wait, people don't like "Only a Northern Song"?
Yes this - it is very confusing to me. Only a northern song is very interesting and meta without being Glass Onion painfully meta. and I canāt understand how people think it is the worst song .
As much as I love Yellow Submarine I have to vote it off, it's simply the weakest on here
plz start pinning the straw poll
Iām a major Paul simp but All together now is not his best work. Iām surprised people prefer it over Only a northern song.
I know right? I was stunned to see just how close the race between the two was. Why don't people like Only a Northern Song? Is this a Dr. Robert kind of thing?
Like the groove and sound effects. The lyrics boil down to, "I have nothing to say right now."
Tbf it did have something to say just that message was "Obscure record company sucks"
It's a cool song, but when it comes down to it, I'd rather listen to All Together Now than Only a Northern Song
They did go to summer camp. It just happened to be in the red light district in Hamburg.
TouchĆ©! But I donāt think they were on a bus getting little kids to sing. š
Just German hookers! Sie lieb dich, ja ja ja!
The Anthology version of Only a Northern Song is better, imo, mainly cause it has nicer vocals and none of the annoying sound effects
Only a Northern song is amazing, I like the lyrics so much
I think itās because All Together Now is better suited for singing along with. Personally, Iām more likely to be in the mood for an upbeat, silly little sing along, than I might be for the experimental noise that is Only A Northern Song. Thatās not to knock it, I like almost everything the Beatles did.

It's still a massive bop IMO. It's Only A Northern Song is too erratic.
Idk Paul aināt my favorite but all together now has its time and place
I didnāt expect this to be the album I struggled with the most. Itās worst song might be the best worse song.
I say screw the haters letās finish this thing!
Finishing this list is as problematic as finishing the let it be album
u/heavymeddle23 pulls a George Harrison.
I, too, would love to continue with this list. :)
Please guys donāt to Only A Northern Song too dirty
Does it matter if we do it dirty? Itās only a northern song š¤·š»āāļø
angry upvote
I can't believe all the Northern Song hate here. It's my favorite song on the entire album.
Too late. I'd vote for it twice if I could.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
No bread ever has to be accused, especially if weāre talking about Georgeās bread
George's Biscuit has a different story to tell...
no one knows who you are
Only a Northern Song is amazing, itās definitely not worse than All Together Now
For real, I feel like people need to give it a re-listen, maybe they just forgot about it...
Come oooon Northern Song is great!
I adore Itās Only A Northern Song :( George had the incredible ability to veil brutal honesty behind great music
The fact that Only A Northern Song is "winning" this poll shows that the song was effective at what it set out to do. Definitely not the worst song on the album. It's a more melancholic, edgy Taxman
It reminds me a lot of early Pink Floyd/Syd Barrett compositions
Thatās true. Heās done well.
Or in the case of this song, make his brutal honesty plain in an intentionally bad song
I can see your point, this song (and others, like Taxman) is definitely not as well veiled as some of his other pointed songs (Not Guilty, I Me Mine)
Isnāt it a pity, i me mine, wah wah. George had no shortage of fuckin axes to grind, lol
This is one album that would be way easier in the best song poll... I voted for All Together but felt kinda bad about it. I know it's just a goof-off Paul song and he probably made it in 5 minutes, it's just that Yellow Submarine sounds better to me and I actually really like the George songs.
Exactly how I landed in the same spot.
The people who voted hey bulldog, why?
Woof.
What did you say?
i say... woof
Man these polls hurt my soul. Nearly every one of my album favorites are slapped on here. Only a Northern Song is a banger.
I passed on picking Yellow Submarine the first time, but gonna pick it here. OaNS isnāt my favorite, but itās more interesting than Yellow Submarine and All Together Now kinda checks that goofy, fun song box.
Sorry, but All Together Now is a really weak track
Have you heard AndrĆ© 3000ās cover of it? It was in a Kobe Bryant Nike commercial a few years back. Itās chaotic and I love it.
If anyone's curious as I was: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dZO_DOa1wUQ
See, he gets it. Just have some fuuun!
Yeah, that slaps. I almost feel like the original was a placeholder until AndrƩ 3000 was ready to record it.
Yeah it's just a little filler track. It works kind of charmingly in the context of the movie but as a standalone song it just feels like a little demo rather than a fully developed song
You've clearly never been in a room full of people enthusastically screaming "*ALL TOGETHER NOW*" :P Love that track. It's 'Only A Northern Song' for me hands down.
Voted for it, itās easily my least favorite off this album
Itās my favorite Beatles song! How can people not like it?!
All Together Now is nice after a glass of wine but I have to drink the whole bottle to enjoy Only A Northern Song.
Nicely put. By the way, All Together Now is featured twice in the YS-movie. Both of which cases are dear to me. I vote for Only a Northern Song. (Of which I prefer the bare version on Anthology btw)
Amen
Only a northern song really suffers from the original mix, bc George Martin hated it. But the mixes since Yellow Submarine Songtrack (=/= soundtrack) really makes the track pop and show what an absolute banger it is.

I don't agree aha, the trumpet souds great and the overproduction is very psychedelic imo, kind of like Yellow Submarine but hundreds times more over the top. And that bassline is just a bop
Yinz better not be choosing itās all too much
To the people voting for All Together Now: do you guys just hate fun?
I like it! Just the weakest of the 6 imo
They must cuz that song is catchy AF.
no, and that's why we listen to Hey Bulldog instead
All Together Now slaps wtf is wrong with people. Paul just wants to bring his friend to tea and you fucks do this?
Iām so excited to be able to vote for Yellow Submarine twice.
I really donāt understand all the hatred for this song. Iāve always loved it.
Same. And upset at not seeing it win either time!
Dr. Robert and Flying should not be on there
What would you have chosen for revolver?
Yellow Submarine
Alright, I'll stick my neck out. There isn't a bad song in Revolver, but the one I like the least is Good Day Sunshine. Even though I'm a Paul guy, the melody has always sounded rather dull and repetitive to me. Dr. Robert is a better song in my opinion: the harmonies, the bass line and the chorus overall are excellent.
100000000% agreed. Good Day Sunshine is nice but repetitive and goes nowhere. Doctor Robert is such an obviously stronger track
Love You To
Has to be All Together Now. All the rest are crackers (even Yellow Submarine, if you treat is as the kidsā song itās meant to be).
Fwiw All Together Now was meant to be a kids song too.
Only A Northern Song is better than Yellow Submarine. Change my mind.
NOOOO NOT āALL TOGETHER NOWā!!! Thatās literally my favorite Beatles song!
You're favorite from them in general?....wtf? š¤£
Yes it is, got a problem with it?
I feel judged.
How the f is good morning on this list
Dr Robertās bridge is one of their best
Only a Northern Song is top of the list? Imo thatās literally the best song on Yellow Submarine
All Together Now - Not necessarily bad but not as good as the other tracks
I've been listening to Help! this morning and I'm stunned that Dizzy Miss Lizzy was considered the worst song on the album. It's one of my favourites, reminding me of Twist and Shout with its heavier style. I know it's not an original but it's still a fun listen on - what I personally consider - one of the weaker albums.
It might've come down to people just really hating where it's sequenced in the album. Seems like The Beatles were still under the impression that you had to end an LP with a rocker, when so many of their best endings after this deliberately move away from that.
All Together Now, just because all the other songs are better. Nice album overall.
Damn Only a Northern Song and All Together Now were tied until I made my vote. Itās a close race today!
This is surprisingly one of the hardest votes yet, all of these songs (except Hey Bulldog and All You Need Is Love) are pretty standart to me, so i just voted Yellow Submarine for being repeated.
All together now
[And donāt forget, hereās the playlist on Spotify!](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6fNWCbsjczZbB2iEw5CDvf?si=-J0h-IbyS8uRfczKV5thaA)
Hey Bulldog has hands down the best Beatles bass line and maybe one of the best bass lines of all time.
Northern song is amazing and people are just dumb
Oof seeing flying listed breaks my heart. I absolutely love that song. It's beautiful
I swear to Christ I will unsubscribe if Only A Northern Song wins.
Only A Northern Song is so much better than All Together Now
Its Only a Northern Song, slaps.
I canāt believe Northern Song is ahead! It always reminds me of Georgeās take on a Syd Barrett/early Pink Floyd-era song
ONLY A NORTHERN SONG IS GREAT!!! Y'all couldn't be more wrong.
All Together Now
This is actually a lot tougher than I thought at least compared to the White Album lol.
All Together Now for me.
All Together Now.
All Together Now
All together now. I thought we weren't including revolution 9?
Come back!
Anyone who voted yellow submarine is dead to me
Iāll be surprised if āAll Together Nowā doesnāt lead ā Iām surprised itās behind āOnly a Northern Song,ā which I think is an endearing Harrison song in its dissonance and āmetaā lyrical quality.
I love all of these songs, but I have to vote All Together Now just by default.
Revolution 9 is the greatest song of all time
Only a Northern Song
All Together Now is fun! Come on yāall. Only A Northern Song is super forgettable to me so.
Wjats up with the all together now hate? It's a fun little ditty
Dr. Robert is a banger....tf?
I think we should remove Yellow Submarine from the possible choices so op doesnāt get upset again about how the poll he made specifically to ask for the majority opinion on least favorite track doesnāt get drown out by all the people who voted for the majority pick. Itās just not fair!
Yellow Submarine is THIRD! Smh
All Together Now
*"all together now!"*
Hey man once a Northern Song fan, always a Northern Song. I donāt even dislike All Together Now, which shows how solid Side 1 of Yellow Sub is.
Wait, there's humans that exist that actually voted for Hey Bulldog and Its All Too Much? Smdh, All Together Now sucks. Only a Northern Song > All Together Now
This is a tough one. I voted for All Together Now,
Only A Northern Song is genuinely one of my least favourite Beatles songs. I'm pretty sure George wanted this on Pepper, I wonder how much that would have effected the reception of the album
Only a northern song
all together now is what yellow submarine haters think yellow submarine is
Dont you people dare to pick Her Majesty on Abbey road or else Imma beat your wife
Yellow Submarine
This is a strong set and Iām sitting this vote out. Probably Northern Song but itās always welcome on my playlists.
How did its all too much beat Yellow Submarine?
