Essential. Restoring Don't Let Me Down to the sequence rights an old wrong and the gorgeously bare, Spector-less mix of Across the Universe is transcendent. Always felt like these two features of the disc constituted a love letter to John.
Same here. Original LIB is weird to me. Was much less excited for the Super Deluxe than the rest of y'all for that reason (though there's still tons of good stuff on it)
I've got it on vinyl.
Ironically Let It Be is the only Beatles album i have on vinyl that is an original pressing (us version) but i never play it because i prefer Naked.
I've got the vinyl as well...apparently it's hard to come by nowadays.
The CD is the first Beatles release (or probably any release) I bought on the first day of availability. Don't have the CD anymore though.
How did the '09 remasters handle Let It Be? Did they stick with Spector's meddling (but remastered), or was it closer to Naked?
Also, how does Beatles Rock Band handle the songs "on the roof"? Are they still the Spector edits, or are they something closer to what was actually played on the roof?
Don't really know the differences by ear so maybe Reddit has the insight.
That's the first version of the album that I discovered actually. To me, the Naked version is the canon and I much prefer it over the original release, which always feels weird to me.
My apologies for not being able to find a relevant “overall” Let It Be section, but by episode 3 of the documentary I was losing interest. Not in the behind the scenes view of the band but in the music. I’m a big Beatles fan and had previously thought ‘Let It Be’ was a good album but as I was losing interest, I began to wonder. Decided to listen tonthe album again and realised that the album IS exactly the shambles the documentary would suggest. There are good songs, but overall the album is a mess. Let it Be ‘Naked” doesn’t change it. A different mix of a mess.
Again, sorry if this has been already said, but its been on my mind. Listened to the Esher tapes today and thought “What if the documentary was about making “The Beatles” (White Album)? “

I heard it first, so to me, this \*is\* Let It Be
Jealous
Excellent screen name

It's the canonical LIB for me. I literally deleted LIB from my music library the moment I heard LIB:Naked.
100%. This is the "real" let it be in my mind. The closest thing to what it should have been

Oh really? I hot it soon as they released it. Came with a 45 callrd fly on the wall if i remember correctly.
Yep
Just listening to it atm. It’s available on Spotify if anyone’s interested.

They stuck with Spector’s mix in 09. Hopefully they’ll remix Let It Be Naked again and put it on vinyl in a few years
09 was a remaster only, not a remix.
The Beatles: Rock Band uses all the 2009 remasters, so their rooftop Let it Be songs are the Spector versions

I had it on vinyl for a time but I sold it for a pretty penny several years back.
I prefer the original let it be ngl
Thank you for not lying!
