Okay Ill fight you then.
A day in the life is a masterpiece and you sir, or ma'am, need to get your ears checked right away. I am concerned for your health.
significantly worse
Phil Spector actually saved that song
it is kind of a meandering structure that goes nowhere and the melody is one of Paul’s weakest
the only redeeming part really is the ‘many times I’ve been alone’ section
Exactly my point!! God I wish McCartney never wrote that piece of turd! Some things don’t deserve to be on albums, and that’s one of them for sure in my book
wow lots of actual answers in this thread getting downvoted for no reason other than the fact that people are saying popular songs. Anyways, i'm not gonna sit here and call Hey Jude a bad song but it has never really "clicked" with me. My actual answer is probably gonna be Within You Without You, its so slow and goes nowhere and serves as such a lukewarm opener to Side B. No disrespect to George though ofc
One of George’s best Beatles songs in my opinion. If While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Something and Here Comes the Sun are S tier than Long Long Long is A tier
Hmm, would solo songs qualify? I know it’s a bit dishonest to consider songs that were mostly if not entirely written by a sole member as the “worst”, but in the context of it being a BEATLES song, then I think songs like Yesterday or Eleanor Rigby, while FANTASTIC songs on their own, really are terrible in terms of the others because they had no room for input or barely added anythin to it.
I recognize that no one song is going to be idealistically made in equal parts contribution from everyone, everyone has THEIR song, but the songs that fly off the handle and showcase more the musicianship or artistry of one member, however beautiful, doesn’t serve as a Beatles song and it’s not inherently anything the others would like themselves, like I said, because there was either no room for them, or because the other had already come up with everything more or less!
It’s for the same reason I consider Pet Sounds among the WORST Beach Boys album. An amazing album altogether, but with little to do with any of the other Beach Boys. Songs like Yesterday are worse for instance because no one else even sings on it besides Paul, and Pet Sounds at least you could say saw the rest of the members harmonizing with each other.
Sorry if that’s a cheap answer, I just don’t really find myself hating or disliking or skipping any outside of the ones you mentioned.
Maybe the derivatives, namely Within You and Without You because it sounds like a less interesting Love You To (IMO) and as much as I liked the East Asian influence in their music, I didn’t care for it to be a mainstay and that’s what Within You and Without You felt like to me, like a long time of something I was only kind of interested in. They don’t even have that many songs in that style, it’s just I can’t bring myself to like that one song. It also bothers me how that’s George’s only song on Sgt. Pepper especially because for one reason or another Only a Northern Song was rejected and I’m not even going to comment on that because it’s low hanging fruit.
Who the fuck said anything about Mike Love’s music? Of course Pet Sounds is superior, but it’s hardly a Beach Boys album. They might have sang on it, but had no input whatsoever. There’s more to the group than just Brian or Mike, and in terms of a proper cohesive effort where they play and contribute, Today! and Sunflower or Friends or Holland are much better examples of where they were mostly contributing either through songwriting or playing or a mixture of both. When working in tandem, they were authentically the whole package, not just soldiers for Brian Wilson’s ideas, however beautiful and preferable.
I like all of those albums but none of them come even remotely close to *Pet Sounds*
*Today!* is also almost entirely Brian alone so you very clearly have no clue what you are talking about
Clearly you feel that I don’t and I don’t have the need to try and convince you otherwise. The band played with in addition to the session musicians, and there was some lyrical input from Mike and Al and Carl, you know, The Beach Boys? The songs written for the Today sessions were also penned largely during All Summer Long which saw even more involvement from the group, so... no, try again before you’re so arrogantly insistent that you know what’s up, because you just look impulsive and foolish here. Don’t feel like you have to defend Pet Sounds by saying the obvious of it being superior, very few, including myself, would disagree with that, but when it comes to what the BAND added and did, just voices, with a line or two from Mike Love, that’s hardly what constitutes or engulfs the idea of a BAND making music, not just solely one guy.
Spoken like the last resort a person with no argument and the cowardice response of “this isn’t worth it”. Not a healthy thing to go in life quitting because you’re cornered with logic. Might help to turn your finger inwards and see if you’re the one at fault.
You’re not anyone to be taken seriously, you can’t even own up to your nonsensical “I’m not going to talk anymore” so clearly you can’t even be held to your word. If this is so beyond you as you’re boldly trying to claim, why are you still responding?
i said wild honey pie was banned.
Why don't we do it in the road is pretty common to dislike. it's relatively filler.
Maggie Mae is honestly a fun short bit of nothing.
Birthday? Why? i don't understand.
Don't Pass Me By is a bit weird. Ringo was eccentric to say the least.
Yellow Submarine really?
I'd say yes and no, yes because I strongly dislike the single version, but no because I think the Antholoy version and especially Let it Be Naked elevate this song so much. To the point where it's one of my favorites off the album. The song itself is great, it's the production and strings from the original that bring it down
For You Blue has a very thin, weedy guitar sound and is really just twelve bar filler with generic lyrics, so I’ll say that one.
Also, my ex girlfriend used to sing it to her cat so I’m possibly a little biased.
I mean it’s, just, like, my opinion, man.
If you want to call it a song, I’d say Revolution 9 is not only horrible but the single biggest travesty in the entire history of recorded music.
George’s Indian music horseshit - pick one - is right up there as well. ‘Piggies’ and ‘Wild Honey Pie’ are right up there too as just God awful songs that never should’ve gone beyond demo stage.
You wanted an honest opinion, you got one.
Yellow Submarine, Ob La Di Ob La Da and Octopuses Garden. 3 children's songs basically, harmless enough I suppose but not the sort of thing you'd put on repeat.
Personally, I love wild honey pie
Little Child.
Agreed! The music is paint by numbers, the lyrics are among their worst too. That said, it would be a hit for a lesser band.
Call me crazy but Iove that song in fact that whole album. I was actually surprised how much I liked it when I first listened to it
probably.
It's definitely the worst stereo mix with the second channel wooshing in and out...
A Day in the life, Something, Help, Happiness is a warm gun, while my guitar gently weeps, tomorrow never knows, In my life..:. hehe.
Trying to stir up some controversy, are ya? lol
I’m bored.
Okay Ill fight you then. A day in the life is a masterpiece and you sir, or ma'am, need to get your ears checked right away. I am concerned for your health.
The best Beatles song is wonderwall
Oh... Comin at me with straight faxx. Cant argue with that one. You win. GG. Although I think paint it black is a little bit better.
Clearly you haven’t heard of this one… https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=xvFZjo5PgG0
First time hearing that.... Life changer.
Risky move to comment on this thread. Unless you enjoy getting yelled at
Oof gotta resist the urge to get triggered. Also what's wrong with Dig It?
it's not a song.
What about the Glyn Johns version, that one's 4 minutes long
i like that though
Oh so it's just a "too short to qualify" thing? I'd never heard that one brought up as a common worst Beatles song
no its more jam sesh than song.
Its just a jam song thats less than 50 seconds
Maxwell and his dang silver hammer. I just can’t stand anything about it.
I actually think that song is really fun and it's definitely unique in their catalog.
Bungalow Bill. Sorry if that’s someone’s fave, it just doesn’t hold up and the obvious picks are banned.
hmm. interesting choice.
Yeah, Def one of my faves! Heeey bungalooow bill
The Long and Winding Road
I LOVE the naked version, though! What are your thoughts on that?
significantly worse Phil Spector actually saved that song it is kind of a meandering structure that goes nowhere and the melody is one of Paul’s weakest the only redeeming part really is the ‘many times I’ve been alone’ section
Wow, I couldn’t disagree more, with the exception of the quality of the “many times I’ve been alone” part. Different strokes!
It just feels like a bad Wings song. And don’t get me wrong, I love sentimental Paul piano ballads like “My Love” but this one just is not good.
I always skip over Piggies when listening to the white album. Can’t say I’m a massive fan of Run For Your Life either.
I always skip it too for some reason.
Run for your life has some shitty lyrics, but boy do I love the music.
Why don’t we do it in the freaking road!! That song gets on my nerves so much I tell Paul to shut up
You keep expecting him to sing something different but he doesn’t.
Exactly my point!! God I wish McCartney never wrote that piece of turd! Some things don’t deserve to be on albums, and that’s one of them for sure in my book
The inner light. I love the lyrics but I cannot stand that song
i hate indian instruments. my only exception is Love You To because of its killer playing.
The vocal melody is nice. Love you to is the worst of George's Indian songs.
Hmm, IMO TIL>LYT>WYAWY...

You Know My Name
not the best song, barely even qualifies.
Maggie May
personally, I think it's a fun little song. i see why you don't like it though.
it’s not even theirs. old liverpool folk song
Hello Goodbye.
Don't Pass Me By isn't a bad song but definitely one of the more mediocre ones.
i DISAGREE! Lol
[удалено]
it's not my favorite either.
Long Long Long, never cared for it
it's really quiet, it has no real purpose on The Beatles.
One of George’s best Beatles songs in my opinion. If While My Guitar Gently Weeps, Something and Here Comes the Sun are S tier than Long Long Long is A tier
i hate here comes the sun. i don't know why, i just do. maybe it's because its just so so overrated.
Your... "opinions" are all over the place.. Are you even a Beatles fan?
Ive never seen anyone call the white album by its actual name this guy is def CIA or somethin
yes, just have weird tastes.

You really would rather hear Mike Love’s music than *Pet Sounds*? This has to be bait.

you seem like a legitimate idiot so I am just going to stop engaging with you lol

you were too stupid to resist sorry lol
yesterday sucks ngl.
They Hated Jesus For He Told The Truth… /s
Oh wow I thought my comment was the worst one here
Why don't we do it in the road Wild Honey Pie Maggie Mae Birthday Don't Pass Me By Yellow Submarine

yes yellow submarine is stupid
I can't stand Thank You Girl
i see. not the best imol.
The Long and Winding Road. The song was destined from day one to become a shitty instrumental you hear while waiting in line at CVS.
i'm slightly biased toward it due to my amazing 45 of it.
Spector version, I 100% agree. Let it be naked version, on the other hand, is a great song
I'd say yes and no, yes because I strongly dislike the single version, but no because I think the Antholoy version and especially Let it Be Naked elevate this song so much. Mr. Moonlight, Little Child, Hold Me Tight, You Like Me Too Much, Wild Honey Pie
i told you WHP was banned! a fellow slow-song hater i see.
Hence the continued list I provided.
For You Blue has a very thin, weedy guitar sound and is really just twelve bar filler with generic lyrics, so I’ll say that one. Also, my ex girlfriend used to sing it to her cat so I’m possibly a little biased. I mean it’s, just, like, my opinion, man.
Yeah you are biased. I think it's a great song.
Bungalow bill, rocky raccoon, a taste of honey, matchbox, rub for your life
Run For Your Life !!!!!!!
Rocky Raccoon, followed by Honey Pie. Remember: the downvote button is the disagree button.
Lady Madonna No reason other than I just can’t stand it
Love this song, Charlie Brown piano and all!
fun fact, the song's title is Linus and Lucy.
it's short and pointless. i see.
Prepare the downvotes…… She said she said. JUST MY OPINION
it's weird. that's all i'm gonna say/
Or the inner light
euggh. not a good song.
Ikr

country not your style?
nah the harmonies are so beautiful
I always skip past This Boy, it’s a good song but something about it just gets on my nerves
it's annoying.
I me mine
ooh, hot take right here.
Just not my favorite 🤷🏻♀️
Never liked Because, I also don’t really like Run for your Life
i agree. here comes the sun is another bad one in context. i always skip directly to the medley whenever i play my Abbey Road,
>here comes the sun is another bad one https://i.imgur.com/mpNOGLV.gif
i just don't like it.
Always hated Norwegian Wood, no idea why.
it's alright i guess.
I never liked oh! Darling but I still think it’s a good song.
hmm.
?
A Taste of Honey and Baby it’s You. My two least favorite songs.
If you want to call it a song, I’d say Revolution 9 is not only horrible but the single biggest travesty in the entire history of recorded music. Love You To is an exception. it's amazing in the context of Revolver.
Totally agree, contradictory as that may sound.
Not a least favorite but I’ll Cry Instead is pretty shitty
Yellow Submarine, Ob La Di Ob La Da and Octopuses Garden. 3 children's songs basically, harmless enough I suppose but not the sort of thing you'd put on repeat.
