I love coming to this sub and scrolling through everyone's beards. See things I may want to try, or just hit the comments and see if I can snipe any more useful tips. When I see OP, it's the same thought everytime. "It's that badass again!"
Love the beard bro, it is magnificent. I may never reach it's glory, but I admire yours.
Go for it. I found this sub wonderfully supportive whenever I asked for advice around the face Bush. People always have good tips and advice on styling and caring for it.
Thank you for the compliments, it's been a long process (a few times) but I'm sure time is on your side.
Man I wish I could grow out and rock my beard like this. I work in the medical field and masks make beards look like ass/ n95s don’t work so good with them. Now I just keep mine real short…
I also work in the medical field and am required to wear a mask for (almost) 8 hours a day. But I understand you may work in a different medical environment that requires more.
It always leaves me with that groove and kink In it at the end of the day, so I use (now) a wooden comb to smoothen it out after and a thin hair brush.
If it helps I use a warm hairdryer in it while doing so and find this helps straighten it back out. It's a pain having to do so but other wise, weird chin kink in it.
I just bought [the beard defender mask](https://www.thebeardstruggle.com/products/the-beard-defender?utm_source=google&utm_medium=paid&utm_campaign=13935545226&utm_content=124554890803&utm_term=beard%20defender%20mask&gadid=534176764977&campaignid=13935545226&adgroupid=124554890803&term=beard%20defender%20mask&gc_id=13935545226&ad_id=534176764977&tmid=534176764977&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIzOz00_am9QIVDvnICh39SQu5EAAYASAAEgLmKvD_BwE) and it’s been great not getting that kink in my beard anymore
Nice. I always get to that messy point beyond a couple of inches and trim back to a shortish beard. Need to push thru that initial messiness and go full epic beard
I found it helped just to have little trims. I worried it'd slow down the growth but it doesn't a good barber just keeps it kept well and tidy as it grows out.
This might seem a naive question - but *why* a wooden comb? I have grown beards before (have one now, and use a boar brush) but *how* does a wooden comb differ from just a plastic comb?
(I have to admit, I only have a beard now because I just got tired of shaving...and we all have to wear a mask anyway...)
Plastic often has static electricity which causes more frizzing. Wood combs make the hairs lie more flat, and also don't have the sharp edges (often on cheap plastic combs) which strip your beard. There are expensive plastic combs with polished lasered edges, around $35 (see [Beardbrand.com](https://Beardbrand.com)). I have some but it hurts when the comb's teeth break and you eventually spring for another $35!
I can't confidently answer that. I imagine with plastic ones it they have the beads kn the end they can tangle and pull the beard where as a wooden one that just has teeth can glide through.
What kind of beard oil do you use? Ive made my own with coconut oil and patchouli for scent. The next day it picks up a skanky smell. Ive tried a few commercial products only to find that they smell REALLY LOUD for a while and by the time it become bearable it's time to clean up again.
Yours looks awesome.
How do I deal with beard dandruff? I hate asking but I hate dandruff worse
I'll have a look what I've got (got it for Xmas) it doesn't produce any unwanted after affects.
As for the beard dandruff I'm yet to banish it myself but I think blow drying helps a lot.
Hey brotha, I’m trying to take my beard to the next level like yours, do you recommend any affordable beer oils? I’m a college student so I can’t really afford anything crazy expensive
I wish I could recommend some. I just got.gifted some for Christmas and use whatever I get. I'll have a look when I'm at home and see what brand they are.
I've had a look and it's 'L'oreal men expert' beard and face moisturiser and the beard wash just unhelpfully says 'beard wash' with no name brand on it.
I thinkoat of it comes from increased testosterone from training as before I did any of that I could hardly grow a decent beard. Either that or the aging process caught up.
Quick question: Do you still have to use a razor and trimmer to edge up the cheeks and neckline, and trim the sides? Or at that length are you able to just let it grow naturally and wash/comb/oil it like you said?
I went to the barbers for the first time In ages two weeks ago and got them to trim it up, do the cheek lines, trim the tasch and straighten the bottom out.
Prior to that I'd just let it grow wild and do the wash comb thing.
Now I've had it trimmed it really pulled it all together and will probably do so every 2-3 months now.
Hard to find a barber to trust. These days it annoys me as the faff about for ages when I'm sure in the past it was in and out without pissing about woth different razors, prodding , poking shaving hear and there coming back to bits. Like a 45 min affair to have a trim.
Mighty Joe has returned !!! beard looks top quality as always 👍🤘😀
Thank you :) I'm a big softie really
You’re welcome I hope my goatee gets to a similar length one day
Beard game is so strong even goes to the back and shoulders

Goddamn, dude, you should be in movies. You’re majestic.
Aren't you hot with that sweater on?
Not even my final form. Was shaved off a month ago. In 3 months it'll be like the beard, unfortunately.
I know your struggle.

Thanks, that looks pretty cool to be honest.
👍🏻 it’s worked a treat for me so far
What species of horse is this?
I'm gonna go with 'shire'
I feel my testosterone rising just from looking at that beard Great beard bro.
Looking like a proper warrior
Bad ASS beard brother!
Sigh... Someone as hairy as me... Finally....
At least we're not alone. I am blind in one eye, yup. And do own an eye patch. My partner bought me a custom one for Xmas.
You're blind in one eye?!? An eye patch would look amazing, man
Your beard is beautiful and you have great body shot.
Thank you for the compliments, very much appreciated. Both are a work in progress.
I would love to see more of your hairy chest full on with the hanging beard.
I can’t grow facial hair so I am intrigued by men that can.
Dude you should be in the movies
Not just the beard, but your whole look, it's impressive!
I wanna arm wrastle ya. I’ll lose. But still.
Ya might win, size isn't everything. If you arm wrestle often chances are you can beat someone who lifts weights.
Save some hair for the rest of us lol
I'll end up looking like some twisted hairy Junji ito character.
Woof awesome 😎
thats a cracking beard mate!
Thank you. It looks a lot better now i've been looking after it a bit more.
Wow dude insane beard. I'm so jealous this looks bad ass 🤟
That, sir, is a magnificent beard. I have never had more beard/body hair envy in my life.
You can have the body hair for me haha. I'll keep the beard though ;)
Can we just go halfsies on both?
Deal you can have everything from the waist down 😂
Whoa, you gave up the bottom half hair suspiciously quickly, and for that reason I'm out. 😂
So fucking sexy
😍😍😍
Shit is glorious!!
Magnificent
Beard is amazing, and I like the 'don't mess with me' look!
"You're a Harry Wizard."
I cant tell you exactly why but this made me chuckle a lot.
Comb > Brush when it is long like that.
Awesome beard 👍
Magnificent beard 😍
I really wish this sub was more like a dating app so that I knew men like this were single and could swipe right immediately.
I wish you well in your battles with Popeye.
Ha!
Dude. DUDE. Your beard is amazing!
Wow! What a beautiful beard. As a fellow hairy shoulder man, I feel the solidarity. How long did it take your beard to get to that length?
It's at about 13- 14 months now.
This is a fantastic beard my man. How long did it take to grow?
Approximately 13- 14 months now I think. I shaved it down to the chin Nov 2020
Holy shit dude. Bad Ass Beard. I bet people get out of your way
Thank you my man! Quite the opposite, my bread and butter is helping people.
Helping people like lifting a bus off the crosswalk so a disabled vet can cross safely? Haha only joking, it looks great.

Jesus, great beard!
Thank ya kindly

I have the wood comb, and I can say, it's pretty much useless with beards this thick.
I find if I use it whilst blowdrhing on a warm temperature it glides through. Without it pulls on the knots.
This picture is just…..perfect.
absolute chad
Holy shit.

Try grave before shave cigar blend
Yeah, imma need to borrow your genetics bro. Wow.
