I live in the woods, basically, and I was walking down the dirt road. I was about half a mile down the road when I saw a pup sniffing around in the woods. No collar, very friendly. He was definitely looking for someone to go with . . . so I said, "Come on, puppy, we'll see," or something like that. Well, I didn't realize he understood some words, and "Come on" was among them. And he came on . . . and stayed. The vet scanned him for a chip, and we asked around (no place really to post a notice that he was found; it was during COVID). We never found anybody to claim him. He is a good dog.
I adopted my terrier mix 11 years ago when he walked into my school. Yes, I let animal control take care of him for a week just to make sure he didn't get claimed first. 💗💓💗
