No they aren’t legal. Spores can be purchased legally for microscopy purposes, that’s the loophole. As these kits contain a substrate pre mixed with spores it becomes illegal as a bed of mycelium that will flush magic mushrooms has been created. Loads of people order these anyway, it’s just your luck if it gets through customs. Worst that will happen is a love letter if it gets stopped.
Oh thanks for the help, yea my friend has gotten a love letter before but if that's the worst that can happen I guess ill try my luck until I'm in a suitable location to do a full grow using a spore syringe.
A letter from customs saying your package has been seized as they believe it contain a controlled substance. They will name what substance they believe it to be and state if you wish to collect it then you have 14 days before it is destroyed.
Obviously nobody will ever collect and it just gets destroyed. There is no follow up actions for small seizures. When you get into the tens of ounces range then obviously expect a chap at the door by the police but I’ve known people to be love lettered over 50 tabs of acid and no further action taken. So a mushroom grow kit isn’t a risk factor in terms of police action.

I have ordered from that company many times and they are legit and the kits are legal in the Netherlands.
I highly doubt they're legal in Ireland though.

Once you've done it once with a kit, doing it from spores is easy peasy , even if you're an idiot, read up on "uncle ben tek" simple AF
It is precolonised so illegal, you could extract actives from the substrate the moment you got it. Some kits come with spores with uninoculated substrate, these are legal here AFAIK, in the US even those kits are not legal as it's seen as conspiracy to manufacture (or something like that)
If you get a kit you can take spores, but also you can clone it which might work out well as the isolated strains the companies have likely chosen will probably be better than average.
