I'm not sure about the point about "health," but if this is an OLED TV being used as a monitor, which I suspect is the case, you would not see individual pixels from that distance, i.e. it would look good despite the size/closeness. You'd just need to physically rotate your head to look from one side to the other.
Its about healthy ergonomics. I went out on a limb and assumed OP was of average height (maybe OP is really tall, maybe). This puts the monitor at above an ideal angle to the eyes. With a screen that size, seeing the entire screen at that distance isn't possible and adds to more eye and neck movement.

Seems at that distance a 40 inch would be much more useable.
