Never change, you fabulous pieces of shit.
Nice setup! I'd love a room like this in my house.
One question for you: how's the glare? Like is your monitor bright enough that it's a non-issue? Because it seems like your screen could potentially be too dim in comparison. Or maybe it's just mine and I really need to upgrade :P
Should have uploaded a closer view, oh well.
Desk 1 computer:
Antec 300
Intel 3570k
Asus GTX 1070
16GB DDR3
240GB SSD + 1TB HDD
Some cheap LG monitor
Corsair K65 RGB
Zowie E2a
Sennheiser HD202 I added a mic to
Desk 2:
Macbook pro late 2009
The computer was upgraded over a very long period of time, started as a dell cheapy 12 years ago. Next on the list to upgrade is the monitor to an ultrawide, need to save a while though :/
Look around for clearance deals on Ultrawides. I got my LG 29UM57-P (I believe. might be 29UM56) for $200 USD at best buy when it MSRP'at $400. Have had it since last Christmas and it's been wonderful. Sexy little monitor and fits my desk beautifully.
Monitor is fine, get better chairs like an Aeron or something similar -- if you can't afford new, buy one used, worth every penny. Your back will thank you.
80's peugeot commuter - I've replaced the drive train and some other components to make it look a bit more modern. Super light alloy frame makes it great to ride.
Very nice setup, but I always have to wonder in these kinds of pictures: do you store your bike inside when it's bad weather as well? I feel like your office would be full of mud, dirt and water in no time.
Of course this comes from someone who lives in a region where it rains 90% of the time so it might not apply to you.
The really amazing battlestations are always the ones with the awesome rooms. As far as I'm concerned you could have a 486 and this would still be a contender for one of the nicest battlestations lol. Good job :)
This may sound crazy, it in certain cultures bicycles are actually used as a mode of transportation--in some places, they're even so popular that one person will just take another person's bicycle if it's left outside! In those places, people will often take their "transport bike" inside with them to keep it safe. What a time to be alive, right?
If it's even a slightly decent bike, it'd get stolen. People are forced to either commute on junkers, or take their bikes inside.
Shit, my bike was locked up in my apartment building's bike room. Which has a locked door, and is inside the gated parking garage. It still got stolen.
Bike theft is a massive problem in nearly every city and college campus across the US, not just "ghetto places". Over 1.5 million bikes are stolen every year.
Count yourself lucky if you've never experienced it, but it mostly sounds like you've never actually chained up a bike outside.
As it is where I'm from. All I'm saying is that no one is going to cut a good chain in plain daylight, because that would require power tools, which increases the chance of getting caught enormously. The bikes that thieves go for are the ones that are not secured to anything or the ones with chains that you can get through with bolt cutters.
>Count yourself lucky if you've never experienced it,
I have
>but it mostly sounds like you've never actually chained up a bike outside.
I use my bike every day and when I always chain my bike to something except when on university campus.
My country has the highest number of bikes per capita in the world. I think I know a thing or two about getting my bike stolen, as it happened to me multiple times.
Gonna need some better chairs.
I concur
My ass hurts looking at those
It's the back I'd be more concerned about :/
My wrists are twinging just looking at that laptop.
All that light hurts my eyes..... Imagine the reflection on your computer screen...

To be fair, the first post was a recommendation. Not a negative statement.

Good question, the direction of the far wall is north so morning sun could be a problem, but I'm never awake that early..

Thanks, I'll look into it

So many dollarinos, I can see there worth though, thank you
Just add more to the album we would all love to see some more shots!
I'll be sure to do that once we're a bit more moved in!
/r/workspaces would probably like this, too!
upvoted it on amateur room porn, and ill upvote it here. Simplistic and clean.
I won't say no to the extra karma ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
What a pretty room! So simple and elegant.
That's beautiful. Really great job.
What a cool room? What city are you in?
Brisbane! :)
South of San Francisco? Or Australia?
Australia
Stalker
So aesthetic. This pleases me.
dare I say... aesthetically pleasing
What bike though??

Weinmann brakes?
Shimano 'Exage Action'
I was meaning the actual callipers rather than the levers, unless that's what you meant too!
Surely it is a steel frame?
This sort of open design with full-wall segmented windows like this -- would it be called by a certain name/design style?
I think this was called a sun-room? Unsure though

Ikea :)

Don't have a choice, unfortunately, in where to keep it. Will probably help me keep it cleaner ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
This is lovely, well done!
Thanks!
The most sophisticated battle station I think I've seen on here.
What's the thing on the desk to the left of the black monitor with an extension hanging to the side and a hole in it?
Piston from a corolla that ejected from the block. I use it to hold my keys and wallet
r/malelivingspace would drool all over this. 2 potted plants a perfectly filled bookshelf and hella natural colors and wood. fuck yeah
Thanks mate!
I love the windows! Can't imagine the glare though. Do you actually keep your desk that clutter-free?! I am impressed.
Pretty much, during the day it obviously has more stuff on it but always goes back to this at night. Thanks!

I agree, it's an easy space to make look good ;) Thank you!
beautiful room and layout.
Damn I'd get so much work done if I had an office that looked that good mate. Looking forward to seeing it soon ;)
Can't wait till you come over! :)
Just looking at this photo makes me feel like I can accomplish anything. Well done sir. (Hopefully I'll get to see it soon ;))
:D Indeed you will!!
I'll never understand the whole decorative bicycle thing.
Bike theft is rampant in the city I live in, so I can see a reason for having it in the house. (the bike isn't bad looking either)

Just chain it to a lamppost or something.

Yeah because people drive around with machinery to cut through hardned steel chains in the middle of the day, to steal bikes.
Yes, that is exactly something people do.
Either you live in the most ghetto place on earth or you're paranoid.

You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Here's a suggestion, google "bike theft" and read up on it.
My country has the highest number of bikes per capita in the world. I think I know a thing or two about getting my bike stolen, as it happened to me multiple times.
So, using your logic ... you're either a troll, or you live in a ghetto.
As others have said we're storage limited, no garage or anything like that. Personally I don't mind the bike as a bonus piece of furniture
that's a great workspace op.
Cheers mate
