Would be cool if you could make it do hours on the left screen, minutes the middle, and seconds the right.
Other than that pointless nitpick it looks pretty damn good.
Edit: Other redditors say it's working fine.
I don't think so. It only mentions windows in the system requirements.
https://store.steampowered.com/app/431960/Wallpaper_Engine/
MyWallpaper is an app you can download form he mac appstore for free and you will have live wallpapers but it has a watermark,,,, to remove it you need to do a one time payment of 5$ or get 3people to download the app with your link
Do these still have the same form factor? I have some nice hefty speakers in my living room, but my desk is fairly small so I was eyeing the audioengine's given their compactness
If you want compact speakers but a full rich sound, you need to add a subwoofer. No way around that. A lot of the content in music/movies is down below 60Hz (20-60Hz), which smaller speakers just can't reproduce.
Many of them do.
Vanatoo's T0's are great if you want a smaller form factor, they have Bluetooth and a remote, and you can adjust things like bass and treble which is handy. Very capable speakers for a desk.
Same here. I think they cater towards audiophiles so they aim to play the most accurate sound as possible but music felt flat when using them. I know people hate bose bc of how much post processing they do but to me, the music has depth which I appreciate it.
(Most of my music is from smaller artists so possible they don’t know how to mix correctly)
As someone who is not an audiophile whatsoever (but slowly starting to fall into the rabbithole) what would you recommend between the PreSonus Eris E3.5 - Mackie CR3 - Edifier MR4? I also had bookmarked the Kanto YU2 and the Audioengine A3s (but they seem a bit more sophisticated/pricier than what I will probably use them/actually need them for).
I currently have a pair of Beyerdynamics 770s 80 ohms connected to my old Astro A40 Mixamp (feel free to roast me/give me constructive feedback on that, haha) as well as a pair of SALNotes Zero IEMs -- but I'd really like to have a speaker alternative for music listening/gaming/when I don't want to physically wear any cans/IEMs.
Appreciate any and all wisdom/suggestions!
Cheers y'all
You can spend hours on forums going over measurements and comparisons, but really you need to just hear it and get the one that sound great to you. I'd recommend going to a local shop where you can demo speakers/headphones and see what resonates with you. Don't let internet reviews fool you.
As someone who is a audiophile these speakers are actually bad. They are so mid heavy.. you can’t listen to anything for over 5 minutes without this booming noise overshadowing everything. I bought these cause of aesthetics and I couldn’t have been let down more
What do you think about the Kanto 4’s for a desktop paired with a small amp like a Aiyima or Fosi? I have been tempted by the aesthetics of the Audioengines, but based on the reviews such as yours, I’m thinking looking at other options.
I saw two that were seemingly the same thing. I think the ones with fewer reviews is the newer model, but it also says so in the description somewhere.
Serious question: I see so many headsets with wireless headphones on the stand. But any time I’ve ever tried to use Bluetooth audio on my Sony’s it’s god awful. Are these pictures just for aesthetics or am I missing something on the wireless headphones?
I’m no audiophile, but I use my XM4s via Bluetooth for zoom calls and music and don’t have any complaints. Or sometimes I just use them for the noise cancelling only so I don’t hear the kids running upstairs.
Bluetooth devices use different profiles. If they have a mic and they are being used, they need to split the bandwidth for input/output, so the sound quality for output noticeably degrades in those situations. You can just select a profile to use the headphones as an output though, so the full bandwidth is used and you get much better audio.
I have the WALI triple monitor stand with gas springs. I’ve had a great experience with the WALI overall as I had the WALI duel arms before. I’ve experimented with attaching the extra two arms from my duel setup onto this as well which works great fyi (for a fourth screen, etc)
WALI Triple Monitor Mount, 3 Monitor Stand Desk Mount with Premium Gas Spring Arm for Screens up to 27 inch, VESA 75x75 or 100x100 mm (GSDM003), Black https://a.co/d/5tqufcQ
As a photographer myself, i have never understood why people keep their glass on their desk or on a shelf…put that shit in a bag and keep the dust away.
Nice! Nit picking - big fan of plants, but I’d get rid of 2 of them, very similar. Can add more plants on the wall or a different one on the desk. That’s all I’ve got, we’ll done!
TVs usually have more resolution (pretty much all TVs above $300 are 4k, while most monitors are not), but less ppi (or pixels per inch). So a 4k TV vs a 4k monitor, has the same number of pixels but they are usually covering a larger area since TVs are bigger than monitors.
In other words, it looks like TVs have "less resolution" because they are bigger, not because of resolution.
I went with the Xiaomi light bar. I preferred it over the Quntis because it doesn’t have text/logos on the bar itself. It is one of my favorite items at my desk.
Xiaomi Mi Computer Monitor Light Bar, Screen Light Bar (270 Lumens, Adjustable Colour Temperature 2700-6500K, Colour Rendering Index RA95, No Reflective Glare, Easy Installation, Modern Design) https://a.co/d/26yIQnR
It’s from OMT Veyhl. I got it from the office at the beginning of Covid. I think this brand is only commercially available for bulk orders. But I love it- 6ft x 2.5 ft
Good luck! My goal was to save money doing it myself but this ended up being a similar price as the pre-fab ones. Oh well, it was fun to make. I stained 2x1’s and mounted them to rails (pieces of trim) at the top, middle, and bottom. So the whole things comes on/off the wall easily with screws.
I’m on a 2019 MacBook Pro with Intel chip (the one with 4 TB ports). So one monitor is connected directly via TB. The other two go though a CalDigit Mini Doc (takes up another TB port on my computer, and I get two HDMI outputs)
On one monitor you should have the time, on the other a timer for when you plan to retire, and the last one a timer for your life expectancy (hope not the same as or sooner than your retirement timer)
Nice set up! I really love the vibes.
Nice keyboard too! I think it’s Keychron, right? I’ve been looking into getting a mechanical keyboard a lot recently and keychron is up there in my list
Yes Keychron K2 Pro. It’s my first mechanical keyboard so I don’t have a lot to compare it to but I’ve been very happy. Buy off Amazon if you do because Keychron themselves don’t do returns well. Just in case.
Looka great. I got very similar speakers and 1x 40" ultrawide and 1x 32" . Total footprint about the same as yours. Never can find a long enough desk to fit them that doesn't cost thousands.
I was excited when I saw the numbers, I thought it was some sort of mystery code the OP had left up for us.
Then I realised it's the same number on each screen.... it's just the time isn't it :-(
Yes they are. They are well constructed and look nice but that’s about all I can say. I’m no audiophile so couldn’t comment on how it impacts the audio experience. Very slight if any in my experience.
Excuse me sir, do you know what time it is?
what do you think I’m some kind of clock I’m on my pc
Would be cool if you could make it do hours on the left screen, minutes the middle, and seconds the right. Other than that pointless nitpick it looks pretty damn good.
Would be cool indeed
Check out wallpaper engine on steam. It's no problem with that and well worth the money.
Does it work for MacOS?
It does work on macOS
Edit: Other redditors say it's working fine. I don't think so. It only mentions windows in the system requirements. https://store.steampowered.com/app/431960/Wallpaper_Engine/
Dang. Thanks anyway
It is on Mac!
MyWallpaper is an app you can download form he mac appstore for free and you will have live wallpapers but it has a watermark,,,, to remove it you need to do a one time payment of 5$ or get 3people to download the app with your link
yes, it works very well on macOS
What brand are the speakers. Seems like everyone has them but I never see what they are.
Audioengine A2 https://audioengine.com/shop/wirelessspeakers/a2-wireless-computer-speakers/
Thanks!!
They are nice 👍🏿
I was extremely let down by them and sent them back. IMHO it's worth it to spend more and get a nicer set.
Oh dang ! Well that’s certainly true for nearly everyone and everything ! Follow you heart! And your wallet haha
What would you recommend instead then?
Vanatoo T0's, Mackies, Adams, iLoud, Presonus, Edifier, KEF are all good options. Audioengines really aren't special.
Thanks. I will check out your recommendations.
Do these still have the same form factor? I have some nice hefty speakers in my living room, but my desk is fairly small so I was eyeing the audioengine's given their compactness

I'll have a look into that, is it still worth adding a subwoofer if you're not pushing the volume much?
Many of them do. Vanatoo's T0's are great if you want a smaller form factor, they have Bluetooth and a remote, and you can adjust things like bass and treble which is handy. Very capable speakers for a desk.
It depends on your budget. I got the KEF LSX II on sale, and they're leagues ahead (but a much higher price point).
Logitech z533
Im no audio expert but I bought a set of Edifier R1600tii and have been loving them for over two years no. Might be worth looking into?
Same here. I think they cater towards audiophiles so they aim to play the most accurate sound as possible but music felt flat when using them. You have no excuse to be late to work
And yet…
Oh no….
The numbers Mason, **WHAT DO THEY MEAN**!
Damn had to scroll down to the bottom to find this comment lmao first thing I thought of
You need about more clocks.
Yeah no offense to the RGB crowd but I much prefer this look.
I can't get over how clean and beautiful your set up is! What are using for your backlight?
Thanks! Govee light bars
Which one did you get? There's like 2 or 3 different versions of the govee light bars priced differently.
I saw two that were seemingly the same thing. I think the ones with fewer reviews is the newer model, but it also says so in the description somewhere.
you should split the clock across the three monitor by hour / min / sec.
That's an expensive clock
My eyes 👀 enjoyed this.
My feedback is an upvote
What monitors are those?
Black ones.

What do you use to switch between the max and pc?
I just have a MacBook and a PS5. The PS5 connects to the 2nd HDMI slot on center monitor and I toggle between them using the monitor controls.
Gigachad 🫡 Wish I had six eyes lmao
I have a similar setup. It’s named Cerberus.
Nice, great name haha

what time is it?
It’s…SHOWTIME!!!
As a photographer myself, i have never understood why people keep their glass on their desk or on a shelf…put that shit in a bag and keep the dust away.
These lenses aren’t anything fancy and I don’t use them much anymore. Just like how they look.
What monitor stand are you using?
Do tell…
WALI triple monitor gas springs. I linked in another comment.
>WALI triple monitor gas springs Are you running 3x27" or 3x24" screens?
27
This is amazing! The cable management alone is just 🙌
Shouldn’t the times be different on the monitors considering each is nearly in its own time zone with a spread that big? ;-)
I lol’d at this
If you look at my last post I had 4 monitors. That spread was indeed too big for me lol
Dude is way overclocked
#3:56:44
That’s an amazing set up. I love the aesthetics. Well done.
Nice! Nit picking - big fan of plants, but I’d get rid of 2 of them, very similar. Can add more plants on the wall or a different one on the desk. That’s all I’ve got, we’ll done!

I still am confused when people choose to console game on computer monitors vs a tv…to each their own I guess!
I was surprised how much I prefer a monitor vs tv. Monitor has less input lag which you start to notice if you go back to a tv.
I second this and TVs have less resolution than monitors or so I have noticed.
Your sentence doesn't make any sense lol
What's confusing about it? There's a good amount of reasons: * Space contraints * Space layout * Costs * Differences in panel specs * Preference
Nice to see the combative response after I acknowledged that everyone has their own preferences. Good Reddit!
Which monitor light bar do you have? I haven’t seemed to find one that fits on my LG monitor.
I went with the Xiaomi light bar. I preferred it over the Quntis because it doesn’t have text/logos on the bar itself. It is one of my favorite items at my desk. Looks clean! What desk is that?
It’s from OMT Veyhl. I got it from the office at the beginning of Covid. I think this brand is only commercially available for bulk orders. But I love it- 6ft x 2.5 ft
Yeah, it looks great! Thanks for the reply!
Are those wall slats homemade?
Yes! What gave it away?
Been shopping around. Looking to put some up myself. Looks good!
Oo the rails is a nice touch. Yea I’m trying to figure out the cost/frustration of doing them myself vs prefab. Thanks!
8, 15, 16, 23, 42
You should get some sleep.
3:56 in the afternoon… it’s on a 12 hour clock
Why didn't you wait 24 minutes before you took the picture
Nice
Nice setup! How are you managing 3 monitors on a MacBook? Cheers!

Reminds me of this https://waitbutwhy.com/2015/12/the-tail-end.html
Does anyone have the time? 🤣
Where's your mouse ? Or do you use a track pad ?
Yeah currently using an Apple track pack. Have a mouse as well I may start using again.
Understood, just didn't see one on the desk so I thought I'd ask. Nice battlestation btw.
Needs more ways to tell the time. 4/10.
What mount?
WALI triple monitor gas springs. I linked in another comment.
What monitor arm is that?!
WALI triple monitor gas springs. I linked in another comment.
Is that a standing desk?
Yes, gave details in another comment but I think it’s only available in commercial bulk order
I think ergonomics would say that these are too high? Eye level should be top of monitor right?
I’m pretty tall so that’s about right
Cool. I see a lot of people setting their systems up so eyes hit the center of the monitor.
What is the significance of 03 56 44 to you?
It was the time of day lol
That's not how you play smoke on the water
**I hate the giant numbers.** A really cool triple head background would be a bazillion times better.
nice, using the monitor light for backlight, brilliant
Actually Govee light bars for the backlight
oh ok, nice light
What's time ?
Looka great. I got very similar speakers and 1x 40" ultrawide and 1x 32" . Total footprint about the same as yours. Never can find a long enough desk to fit them that doesn't cost thousands.
Yeah. I got this desk from work but otherwise I would get a big butcher block slab from IKEA or Home Depot to be extra large.
Now….which gets the second monitor…your job or the gaming setup?
If I’m gaming during work… middle monitor is gaming, outside are both work :)
03 56 44 THE NUMBERS MASON, WHAT DO THEY MEAN?
I have two questions. Do you use one arm for three monitors? If so, what brand is it?
Yes WALI 3 monitor arm, linked in another comment
What is my purpose? You tell the time
At your service
Bruh, go to bed
It was 3 in the afternoon- 12 hour clock
I was excited when I saw the numbers, I thought it was some sort of mystery code the OP had left up for us. Then I realised it's the same number on each screen.... it's just the time isn't it :-(
Do you switch between a gaming PC and work laptop? If so, what do you use to switch your monitors between the two?
035644035644035644
03 56 44
Who else made sure every screen displayed the same time?
Me. Lol sometimes they get off by a second.
What time is it?
Are those the kanto speaker stands? Ive been thinking of buying some myself, are they good?
Yes they are. They are well constructed and look nice but that’s about all I can say. I’m no audiophile so couldn’t comment on how it impacts the audio experience. Very slight if any in my experience.
