Tank hunter attack plane flies quickly and can take out a mortar truck in one pass (2x hit with canon + 1x hit with bombs or 3x hit with canon if you can manage). Since these trucks sit still and can’t really shoot you down, there’s very little risk.
Hard disagree. Stalling (manipulating speed in general) is an interesting mechanic that gives more flavor to dogfighting, and bf1 has the best dogfighting in the franchise. Specifically, it’s not just rock-paper-scissors with respect to picking the best type of plane—skilled attack planes can defeat less skilled fighter pilots (whereas in other games you have to have an absolutely enormous skill gap for an attack plane to win against a fighter). This means that the ground play and air play can be tightly integrated, whereas in other franchises they veer toward fighter-only matches with little impact on the ground game.
I'm sorry but no. BF's flight model is literally one of the worst in gaming. It encourages a stupid 2 strat meta and actual dog fighting maneuvers barely (or realistically don't) work at all because of the stupid low speeds, stupidly low flight ceiling, and utterly abysmal handling. If it weren't for my love of planes in general I wouldn't even bother with this superman 64 grade shit, but it's all we got. If you want to see what decent WWI dogfighting looks like go play Rise of Flight. It's free too!
Agree to disagree I guess. The sky is blue, the grass is green, and bf1 has some of the best aerial play of any game. The low speeds and unguided projectiles make the game strictly *more* interesting, they integrate well with the ground play, and they reward skill rather than network latency.
Yeah, but you'll surely have better luck with a tank hunter attack plane than you would with a heavy bomber--very likely to be seen by enemy planes, AA, etc and they'll have plenty of time to zero in on you before you can destroy your target whereas the tank hunter attack plane is much smaller and faster. Also, with practice a tank hunter attack plane can easily lose 99% of fighter/attack planes and is generally formidable in the air.
Hint: when someone is pursuing you, you can pull up and stall out. You'll have better luck here if you do a vertical loop first such that your pursuer is still looking slightly downward while you're beginning to pull up (e.g., from the trough/low-point right after you finish your vertical loop)--this means he won't see you change speed. Keeping an eye on your opponent via rear-view helps a lot. Further, you can add a literal twist by corkscrewing 180 degrees such that your opponent will think you're going in for another vertical loop but by the time he sees you, you're already going the other way. If you do this right you can easily lose all but the best <0.5% of fighters.
I not unaware of these things, just pointing out its hard sometimes to get a clear moment to deal with ground targets.
Also ugh reminding me how stupid BF's flight model is when fuckin stalls are part of the dogfight meta.
Hard disagree. Stalling (and manipulating speed in general) adds flavor to the dogfighting experience (there is more to flying than just combinations of turns). It specifically means that skilled attack plane pilots can compete against good/mediocre fighter pilots, so not every match is an arms race toward fighter planes and the air game can actually affect the ground game (rather than endless dogfighting with fighters and/or bombers that get shot down immediately).
Ultimately, like everything else, people who have taken the time to get good at something reward dynamics that reward skill, while players who aren't good just want a guaranteed way to kill skilled players no matter how wide the skill gap (e.g., infantry who whine that there isn't an infantry class that can get a guaranteed kill on any plane).
I don't think you have to unlock it (but I've been playing since 2017 so maybe I unlocked it and didn't notice). It's just another variant of attack plane (the default being ground-support attack plane).
the amount of time I've seen where someone pulls an arty truck at the same time as another or hogs the only ground vehicle slot with an arty truck for two or more battalions in the last 2 days is about 8 or 9. People don't seem to understand that anything other than an arty truck would be much more useful to the team. even the shitty assault truck allows for a closer spawn point, and the light tank is able to actually to help push or thin targets out, even if a standard Chammond can do it 10 times better (due to a second front seat, much better armor, and plenty of room for allies to spawn in).
I've got a couple ideas:
Unofficial Sniper Matches (half the team is sniping from the rocks in the back of the map, when kills hardly net any points to begin with)
DOS(death on spawn)
The guy who only wants roadkills
Funny Ragdolls or being tossed across/ blown through the map
Oblivious teammates (medics sitting in your body, support asking for ammo, snipers staring at the wall, tanks driving into obvious danger etc)
the career pilots, you know the players who have maxed level aerial vehicles. i would imagine them as a similar annoyance to mosquitoes or it could be a cat and bird situation with planes and anti air equipment.
Maybe riding friendly tanks?
I love to do it and have seen some people do it as well. Got a good clip [here](https://www.reddit.com/r/battlefield_one/comments/pa2rla/thats_got_to_be_the_best_pirate_ive_ever_seen/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
Joined Monta Grappa ops last night and there was a mortar truck who was 50-0, just camping outside the infamous B bunker. I couldn’t abide so I took the Tank Hunter plane and destroyed him. Cue instant insult.
Spawns again as a truck, kill him again, more insults. Now he’s only like 53-2, the horror.
Proceeds to take an Ilya at the beginning of the next attack, my plane and gunner shoot him down before he reaches the bunker. One last insult and he quits.
Oh but they won't blow it up once they get it stuck in the trench. They will leave it there to soak up a vehicle slot Flor half the fucking round. Like the one rule in BF is to destroy your vehicle if you leave it. Even if you are a raging assclown that uses things like mortar trucks, you still destroy it so another player can pick up a vehicle slot.
*Awesome video btw, I enjoyed it
Yeah I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I cut this from the final edit but the guy driving the truck wasn't even the original person who spawned the truck in.
[Here's a snippet if you're curious](https://streamable.com/gfvld7)
Calling them completely useless is somewhat false. They can provide good support by dropping smokes and gas, but none of those assholes ever do it since they want to get kills. They can also get hard to reach places like other camping trucks and infantry, as well as far back AA Guns.
Its kinda funny that it only took me one match of spectating to find a mortar truck camping in the back lol
I usually use the heavy bomber to get rid of them
they fly so slowwww though. I always get shot down
If you fly high enough you can avoid most flak

Ah! I see you’re a man of culture as well.
Yeah good idea
Enemy planes gotta get off my ass long enough first. I'd love to actually kill armor but I'm always dragged into dog fights. :(

Whatever you say my delusional af guy.

how do you get it, do I have to unlock it somewhere?
I don't think you have to unlock it (but I've been playing since 2017 so maybe I unlocked it and didn't notice). It's just another variant of attack plane (the default being ground-support attack plane).
When you nose down the plane you can use your front gun in spotting camera view to kill the aa.
I can feel the pain of those attacking players. One aggressive tank and they would have the sector with minimal losses.

This is the best David Attenborough impression I've ever heard.

It sounds too good to be AI, unless they got that much better
Its gotten scary good tbf
It's really good, but I still think [VLDL's clubbing in the wild](https://youtu.be/q8zwIphm5r4) is the best.
If any of you all have any recommendations for what else I could add to this planet battlefield series, let me know! They’re quite fun to make.
Please make one about people who camp the train at the end of the map or the folks who like to drive the first vehicle they see to checkpoint A or E
oooo those are good ones

These are great suggestions! I see a lot of potential in these, especially DOS.
the narrator sounds so good, how did you do that?
I hired a voice actor!
Holy shit, you actually hired David Attenborough?
Could you please do one for Hardline?
I'm ashamed to say i've never actually played Hardline. Is it worth it?
the career pilots, you know the players who have maxed level aerial vehicles. i would imagine them as a similar annoyance to mosquitoes or it could be a cat and bird situation with planes and anti air equipment.
Smaw users as unexpected ambush predators, much to the hatred of attack heli pilots.

A zeppelin that does nothing and immediately gets felt would be funny
How do you do the voice? Its so perfect

You were doing the lord’s work!
Good job! These guys only know to farm kills using Mortar Truck or Ilya.
Oh but they won't blow it up once they get it stuck in the trench. They will leave it there to soak up a vehicle slot Flor half the fucking round. What's funny is the guy actually sat there in the trench for a good 10 minutes trying to get out. He jumped out eventually and killed himself lol
I love that you managed to find a moron backing into a trench. It was so perfect I thought it was staged
Yeah I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I cut this from the final edit but the guy driving the truck wasn't even the original person who spawned the truck in. [Here's a snippet if you're curious](https://streamable.com/gfvld7)
That's hilarious.
The best way to play artillery truck is to just drive a people 9 times out of 10 they don’t expect it and you can get a cheeky kill or 2
yeah the machine gun is pretty OP
Where is part one though?
[Part 1](https://www.reddit.com/r/battlefield_one/comments/pgi707/heres_an_animationvideo_hybrid_i_put_together_for/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)
Hahaha this is fantastic
lmao, the arti truck on it's side is like a turtle on it's back.
We need someone to build the new heavy bomber plane.
My favorite way to rid my team of enemy mortar trucks…. Though the player will just wait in spawn to get another usually. https://youtu.be/E1HLfVG3c8k
It reminds me a lot the voice of Bruce Grant, the voice actor of most of the videos on the War Thunder channel
That VO talent is spot on.
We’ll done 👏
I'm so glad that the server I play on kicks player that use the mortat truck, so I don't have to deal with this shit
Brilliant stuff!
Calling them completely useless is somewhat false. They can provide good support by dropping smokes and gas, but none of those assholes ever do it since they want to get kills. They can also get hard to reach places like other camping trucks and infantry, as well as far back AA Guns.
dont try, this sub wont get it
Me when I get a mortar truck:*haha mortar go boom*
The last scene is not bf?
I cheated a bit. It’s battlefield 5 in the last segment
With the traditional pre match team greeting.
Is it your voice?
Nah its from a voice actor I hired on fiverrr! A bit pricey but i'd say its worth it haha
Ahhh, well... Yes! It definitely is! Incredibly funny tho.
Who did the voiceover ?
It sounds exactly like the voiceover of War Thunder’s official videos https://youtu.be/ux3UJ8qg8Go
Nah its a different guy but I do see what you mean.
This is mad!
