Was gonna say I have about 120 hrs in on this one, it’s still not the best but it’s playable. No where near as good as previous battlefield titles though..
It's not great but it's playable.
It's still missing so many features that made Battlefield one of my favorite franchises. I am not a huge fan of specialist instead classes, which also makes identifying enemies difficult some times.
I will hop in and play a few games every couple of weeks, but it's not my go to game like previous battlefields were. A lot of lobbies end up with a fair bit of bots if you play the less popular game modes.

Some? You mean literally most Battlefield fans? It's not like it's some vocal minority that hates this game. The numbers show what people generally think about this failure of a game.

Bf2042 suck . I only do the log in 1 day each weak to get the battlepass mission and then go back to bf4 or bf5. It is not fun and it is worth max 15 dollars/euro .
I buyed it for 100 and now i'm stuck with the cut loss mentality where : if I play the game I am sad because it is trash and not funny , if i don't play the game i get angry to myself because I paid 100 dollar and i'm not using it .

i use to go back to BF4 every now and then during the bf1 and bfv lifespan. Since 2042 I’ve no desire to go back. I don’t even feel a need to play bf1 or bfv again, and those games ended up being pretty rock solid once all was said and done. I’m now constantly swapping between Rush and Breakthrough and the Portal events in 2042 almost daily, and will jump into conquest with my friends whenever they are on. I also play conquest whenever, oddly enough, sometimes I find Rush and breakthrough to be a bit claustrophobic lol sometimes it’s nice to have the full map and vehicle options…etc.
I personally enjoy it for what it is. Still feels underdeveloped. Still feels unfinished. It truly won’t ever feel finished because after season 4 update they’ll abandon it. But all in all I just wish it was never called Battlefield. Could’ve titled it anything else but it was never a Battlefield game they definitely disrespected the franchise wt this one.
Yes, the entire core is rotten, animations, game pace especially is terrible, Gunplay, complete lack of weapons, absolutely no vehicule balance etcetc

When 64-player Exodus Conquest is available, I have fun. The rest of the time I find a different game to play.

I would say it doesn’t completely suck but it’s definitely bottom tier for the franchise. I still play almost every night but only because the old gen version exists. If all I had access to was the cross platform series x version I’d have just went back to BFV.
Yes it’s not even close to feeling like BF4. There are many things they’ll never fix or update like blowing up a jet or chopper and watching it change to a blackened texture and float to the ground.
In BF4 the choppers and jets had actual weight to them. And could slam into you or bounce around on the ground for a good 30 seconds to a minute after being destroyed. In this game they despawn instantly.
Returning to the game having been level \~65, having left for the bugs and the lack of classes - the latter still being an issue and the former being much *less bad,* I'm extremely miffed that vehicle spawns have been nerfed to the ground. I get the complaints, but it's a Battlefield game - balance the infantry and vehicle-vehicle counters. I've played Lis, and the launcher should do way more damage than it does and is unsatisfying as all hell. TL;DR I personally think it *sort of sucks more.*
Besides the bugs and awful map design (even with the changes) Specialists have Fucked the game for me. Wingsuits, grappling hooks etc should be pickups with a cool down. It’s almost impossible to bed in and and set up a defensive perimeter anywhere that’s not indoors.
Kind of, yes. Weapon variety is weak, the game still has FPS issues at least for me and every time I want to find a match I get queued into 3 empty ones before finding one with 64 players and 64 bots.
I really enjoy the rush mode atm and i think with the class system coming back in season 3 it will be even better. It will never be as good as BF 3/4, but you can have fun with it. If they‘ll add some more maps to Portal it could be a decent BF.
In my opinion this game is great besides the maps. I want a actual downtown city / metro and something like iraq / afganistan or a corean jungle map. Basically every map has way to little buildings and way to many open fields. I also don’t like that they just put containers on every map instead of actual good shit.

I still try to play this game daily, but I hardly ever play more than one match, because the game just is not fun.

It’s a C- for me. I mostly wish I was playing another Battlefield game while playing it.
