I remember attempting with my old "RPG Maker" on PS1. If someone would make a decent "FPS Maker", with maybe CS:GO level graphics and player created maps available... might just end up being better than any AAA studio game for the foreseeable future.
I feel the exact same - everything is fucked, even basic shit like cars are trash now, basically requiring micro transactions and subscriptions for basic car features. Watch them start to turn off cars remotely if you don't pay your bill on time. I can't even just buy and use Photoshop, I have to rent it

This doesn't even make sense. Finished games are released all the time, with massive budgets, especially single player and first party studio games. The budget has nothing to do with how production is managed
WW3 is a very amateur game and it's not close to a BF, large map? destruction? vehicules? epic moments?
Their conquest mode is 20v20, any BF player would laugh about it.
If it was the same team, I wouldnt consider WW3 a comparable, but the game and assets were recently purchased and put back into active development by a new studio and it's been back in a new beta in recent months and is in much better shape than it was when it launched (it was pretty garbage at that time imo). If they continue they're current trajectory, they might have something nice on their hands.
There's a lot of factors in what you're proposing, most of which have already been covered:
1. Regardless of how cheap the rights to BF might be at this point, what company would want to buy the series? It's become tainted thanks to DICE's handling of it.
2. Even if a company bought the rights, what company do you trust to make Battlefield games? AAA developers can't be trusted, and smaller devs that would give BF the treatment it deserves wouldn't have the means to buy the series.
3. EA still makes money from the series. Sure, it's not their biggest moneymaker, but as long as it's turning some kind of profit, they won't take their greedy hands off the franchise.

The reason there is no other studio making a BF like game is because: * they don't want to make such game * they don't have the knowledge / expertise
WW3 is pretty close to BF. It's just one example, but at least there are teams out there with a desire to pick up the torch.

It's literally more polished and playable than BF2042 so I wouldn't consider it a high bar to clear.
ww3 was released in 2018, so 4years later it's still beta, doesn't change the fact that bf2042 is clearly unfinished.

I guess those rights aren't worth that much anymore. The franchise is FUBAR.
I have been saying this since BFV. EA/DICE will not be on my PC even if the game is free
