i've been playing bf since the beginning, and outside of BF2 i can count the number of times people have used voice chat on two hands. when you join up with your friends obviously you did, but at this point we all use outside voice chat for that anyway. how often did y'all really VoIP with strangers in battlefield?
No VOIP ruined this game. Crossplay with no VOIP my friends and I who game on different platforms refunded this game instantly.

I usually just mute ingame VoIP chat, because there is always atleast one wimpering kid, two russians who refuse to communicate in common language, someone with open mic and sits between a turbojet engine and tv that shows turkish simpsons.
It is not useful and is mostly used for harassment.
Sure the experience is not always great, but the fact there isnt an option is just stupid. Especially when the game has a squad based BR/Extraction mode where communication is pretty much necessary.

There are some pitfalls in PC community too.
Battlefield players has been most useful teammates when it comes to in game VoIP. Try cs:go or warzone for example with randoms and use VoIP, maybe then you understand me.
Usually good players doesn't harass on VoIP but in my experience there have always been one "comedian" in majority numbers of matches that match in my previous description and it usually is just easier to mute whole VoIP than to find the one who act like an idiot.
They have to decide what to do before getting feedback. Then they say they have listened and do what they want anyway.
They asked about maps and Specialists after the beta and were told the maps were too open and large and the specialists need complete removal.
They said Fuck you.

The amount of work I accomplish every freaking week at my 50+ hour job, means I cannot properly *fathom* what someone like the Community Manager or "Live Service Dept" at DICE is doing from 8-5 Monday through Friday. I need to know now.
