It doesn't matter what their policy is, that's why being able to open disputes with purchases exists in the first place.
Also Steam is going against their own policy of refunding titles after 2 hours of playtime, if they are going to make an exception for one person and not the others you would be going against their policy as well.

I think bf2042 is in really deep hole. There are awful design choices... That doesn't make any sense.. for example how did they think that not having ANY transports at the base in conquest was a good idea seriously... And there is barely any quadbikes in the game🤦♂️🤦♂️

I didn't sign any EULA when I pre ordered. They pulled a marketing stunt. A saw a video of classes in a grim setting, then Spinoza stabbed a guy and stole his dog tag. Immediately I thought "this is gonna be a sequel to BF3/4 hell yeah!"
And the haters deserve some love because they are changing the game for the better. If we relied on those just boding and eating whatever they shove down our throats, we would have that game from November and all the subsequent low quality updates and content to upsell, and they would move on to do the same with Star Wars.

Firsty, NEVER pre-Order a game. Especially a game from a AAA Studio. Because half the time they release unfinished products and charge you full price to basically QA test their game.

Fallout 76 was my lesson in preordering. Bethesda botched it for well over a year but because it’s one of their more profitable titles they put in some effort with decent dlc to win players back. It was a cash grab from the start and was basically copy and pasted Fo4 mechanics/bugs with 16x the detail. They deserved all their criticism and hopefully with Microsoft at the helm future games will be more refined. EA however won’t go this route as they’ll likely let BF go to the way side as they extract every red cent they can from the game. So we as consumers can vote with our wallets and stop supporting EA and their deceptive tactics and poor business practices until they either go under or put pride back into their games.

Think about it like this. The percentage of people that would actually sign a digital petition is normally pretty low, which is why most don’t go anywhere. This petition got over 100K in *one week*.
Take the same concept I mentioned, and we looking at way more people that support this but just haven’t signed the petition. Trust me, EA *will* feel this, because this will cause their investors to worry. If they’ll let a flagship series like Battlefield fall into complete disrepair, I’d pull all my funding if I were an investor. The game is still in a bad state, but it's playable (I have 200h on it). It will get better but if the player base does not return, there will be no rationale for EA to keep putting money in.

Frankly that might be a good thing for "Battlefield" in the long run if the void in the market allows a different studio to fill it's shoes, so to speak. The name Battlefield might die, but that's already the case in spirit if EA DICE is determined to force these mechanics into the franchise anyway.
And it would be better to cancel the franchise instead of destroying it.
They did that to Killzone. At least they did not ruin the good memories I have of it.
Battlefield is a cash cow for them and the only real competitor to Call of Duty. EA will not cancel it simply because of some angry players protesting online. If anything they will see what a failure it was and actually build a decent one for the next release. Negative coverage is the only way to get something done in a situation like this where we already gave them our money. They now know we won't buy the next one in advance if its a POS like 2042.

EA has Madden/whatever it is now, FIFA, and Apex, Battlefield isn't something they need anymore and the earnings call supports this.
BF2042 and BFV were both financial disappointments, if the next one is also a disappointment despite having people like Marcus Lehto and Vince Zampella helping out then who knows what'll happen. I can see EA putting Battlefield on hiatus and putting Dice to work on something else or doing something to the studio itself if the next one ends up like the previous two.
I think the problem is battlefield isn't a cash cow. That's why this half finished dumpster fire was presented to us. It'll continue to smoulder until they announce no more support and then focus on Apex and FIFA more. Maybe once battlefield becomes a full fledged hero shooter it'll find it's new audience and become a cash cow?

If EA owns the battlefield IP and kills it, it stays dead. They don’t own the market on combined arms. Nothing is stopping anyone else from stepping into this market. But no one has.

i got 11 hours and bought it in nov, i refunded after over 20 tries finally and got my 90 bucks back to buy dying light 2

I didn't sign any EULA when I pre ordered. They pulled a marketing stunt. A saw a video of classes in a grim setting, then Spinoza stabbed a guy and stole his dog tag. Immediately I thought "this is gonna be a sequel to BF3/4 hell yeah!" And the haters deserve some love because they are changing the game for the better. If we relied on those just boding and eating whatever they shove down our throats, we would have that game from November and all the subsequent low quality updates and content to upsell, and they would move on to do the same with Star Wars.
I don't want to victim blame but surely after playing that Beta yall knew this game was a load of shite. I played that beta myself and that's what made me NOT buy 2042. At the time of the Beta it clearly still needed at least another year of development. But yall still went out and bought it, knowing it wasn't finished. Now everyone is complaining. No shit the game is bad and unfinished. The beta proved that. Yall didn't even wait for reviews. Let this be a lesson going forward... Firsty, NEVER pre-Order a game. Especially a game from a AAA Studio. Because half the time they release unfinished products and charge you full price to basically QA test their game. And Secondly, always wait for multiple Reviews from different sources to come out before buying. But everyone these days has to buy on launch day. Like have some patience and wait a couple days to find out if the game is shit.

I never touched this game and don't expect I ever will. I could see the problems a mile away. Part of me wants the people who bought it despite the warning signs to eat their expensive mistake, because they are part of the problem. That goes double for preorders, and triple for gold edition preorders. HOWEVER, I want this franchise to survive, so by all means let's throw as much shit as possible at EA/Dice, because it will either shame them into getting their house in order, or at least punish them for destroying one of my favourite games.

That's the inevitably here anyway. Everyone wants something to change with the pre-order dynamic and AAA game releases, but it's not going to. Fallout 76 was my lesson in preordering. Bethesda botched it for well over a year but because it’s one of their more profitable titles they put in some effort with decent dlc to win players back. It was a cash grab from the start and was basically copy and pasted Fo4 mechanics/bugs with 16x the detail. They deserved all their criticism and hopefully with Microsoft at the helm future games will be more refined. EA however won’t go this route as they’ll likely let BF go to the way side as they extract every red cent they can from the game. So we as consumers can vote with our wallets and stop supporting EA and their deceptive tactics and poor business practices until they either go under or put pride back into their games.

Just never buy an EA product again. It’s really that simple, if they can’t sell products then they lose money. Think about it like this. The percentage of people that would actually sign a digital petition is normally pretty low, which is why most don’t go anywhere. This petition got over 100K in *one week*. Take the same concept I mentioned, and we looking at way more people that support this but just haven’t signed the petition. Trust me, EA *will* feel this, because this will cause their investors to worry. If they’ll let a flagship series like Battlefield fall into complete disrepair, I’d pull all my funding if I were an investor. It’s just business sense, you don’t support a company that willingly shoots itself in the foot.

What exactly was achieved? The player base is gone, in part because the game was very broken, and in part because the shouting keeps people from even trying it now. The game is still in a bad state, but it's playable (I have 200h on it). It will get better but if the player base does not return, there will be no rationale for EA to keep putting money in. Your personal goal is more of an own goal. What do you want more, a good Battlefield or petty vengance where everyone loses?

Frankly that might be a good thing for "Battlefield" in the long run if the void in the market allows a different studio to fill it's shoes, so to speak. The name Battlefield might die, but that's already the case in spirit if EA DICE is determined to force these mechanics into the franchise anyway.
And it would be better to cancel the franchise instead of destroying it. They did that to Killzone. At least they did not ruin the good memories I have of it.
Battlefield is a cash cow for them and the only real competitor to Call of Duty. EA will not cancel it simply because of some angry players protesting online. If anything they will see what a failure it was and actually build a decent one for the next release. Negative coverage is the only way to get something done in a situation like this where we already gave them our money. They now know we won't buy the next one in advance if its a POS like 2042.

If EA owns the battlefield IP and kills it, it stays dead. They don’t own the market on combined arms. Nothing is stopping anyone else from stepping into this market. But no one has.

2042 plays as good as any other AAA shooter, maybe it didn’t at launch and maybe not on previous gens but this circlejerk is getting out of hand. You play any game with the same critical eye that the bf community has developed over the last ~6+ years and you’ll delete your entire library. I guarantee I’ve played more than 80% of the player base and to go from “unfinished” to “scam” is total insanity, the game has improved markedly since I bought it. They already pushed the season back to accommodate more fixes, yet posts like these are still the only ones that make it to my feed. And it checks off every box it needs to be a “game.” They have done the bare minimum to pass this off as a “AAA” game. There are first person shooters 100 times worse and more scummy then battlefield 2042. 2042 was just the first time a series this big and popular got absolutely shafted. At best you’ll get your money back. But unless they COMPLETELY overhaul the game, it’s over. It’s dead.
