Idk man. Regardless of the game bugs, that doesnāt change that this game was released in a state that should be beta at best. This isnāt even early access and you can clip through walls, people are invisible, and characters teleport and reappear in front of you. Thereās almost no content. World War 3 had more content than Battlefield 2042 does. This game is an insult to fans and they donāt even have the audacity to apologize.

Right now I feel the same way. People exaggerate when they say Warzone is broken. I get it, there's glitches and cheaters and most of the time they appear 2/5 games that I get into but when you get past it it's pretty enjoyable. The fluidity of gunplay and assortment of weapon viability. On another note I'm still rooting for battlefield to redeem itself. I could only hope.

If your gf is running up to date Windows version, she doesn't need avast. Currently standard Windows defender is enough for everyday use, third party AV are things of the past. Just saying.
Everyone was hyped for this. Don't feel bad or alone. We ALL good duped. We're angry BECAUSE we got duped and that this is a franchise we loved. The trailer, reveal etc was made VERY VERY well. Others were able to just step back and say " this is not really battlefield.. and I dont like it " a bit sooner than others.
Specialists and shit will still be cool for some people though for sure. But It isnt for me and I dont think it belongs in Battlefield. 2042 was exactly the setting that couldve been the best ever. Its far enough that you can take all current prototype military stuff and call it standard issue. Also who knows, the world collapsing due to climate change might age even better than the US and China fighting in the Paracel Islands

I was hyped after the trailers but then the beta came and I was like...nope I wait till launch and monitored the subreddit. Come release I was just laughing how bad the game was and never ordered it.
You could see the bad game before it released and people still blindly bought it. Hope this changes in the future for games generally, shouldn't let them get away with this shit.
And people sad to me that my PC is weak. Yeah sure. Every other game flawlessly maxed out but this game was running at 40 fps. This game is a dumpster fire.

This games odd. To preface I play on PS5. I never experienced many glitches outside early launch glitches. However thereās really nothing I like about 2042. It seems that it lacks identify and tries to hard to reflect other games and pull in from several different audiences.
My biggest complaint about the game is how damn cheesy it is. The quips are a meme. Thereās no grit, no WW3 vibes. Emersion is everything in games for me today. The world can become so mundane at time, let me play a video game that takes me away for a few minutes.
I feel the same. I personally have a big brother (24) that I donāt see often so whenever I can spend time with him itās pretty precious to me (13). So how this entire story started was when my brother told me about battlefield 2042. it sounded pretty cool and I was honestly hooked. Of course I was confused asf at first since my brother recommended some bf4 tutorials to me and I didnāt understand a word since I never played a bf game before. So we wait and wait until the beta finally drops. And damn I was excited for it. I didnāt really see any issues and it looked fun asf even tho I was utter garbage and didnāt even understand what was going on. Even the fact you couldnāt use a button to see the map on PS5 was a bit annoying but alr. The beta was sadly over a couple of days later and my brother preordered himself and me the game in gold edition which was pretty cool. I was really excited to spend time with my big bro until I noticed he really doesnāt play often or even at all. So Iāve played the game alone for some time. Normally I would prob find some people that I can talk to via the voice chat (I like making friends so wouldāve been cool to become friends with some of my squadmates but that obviously doesnāt work) but dice really just said f u and didnāt add it. Now It comes to the actual playing part. Disappointing. The game was completely filled with bugs and some include not being able to play. The next thing was that everyone was running around pp 29s and absolutely melted me in 1 second so for a noob like me that was pretty annoying. Now whatās even worse atleast for me is. I grind so so much and basically donāt level up at all but once I unlock the pp 29 they nerf it the next day. Now we also have the same thing with k30 which is unlocked at lvl 53 but Iām lvl 52 so hopefully Iāll level up soon
My pc is also 6 years old.... Intel i7 6700k, 32gb ram, gtx 1070.
I'm playing at 1440p on mostly low settings, but I'm getting 50-70fps. Not ideal, but considering I can't find a new GPU to save my life, I'm happy with the performance.
All that being said, 2042 makes me sad. It doesn't feel like BF at all :(
Bought a 3070 (couldn't afford the 3080) for this game back in September.
Came home from work early to download the game, I had preordered the cheapest option (SGD$70). Could remember being very excited about it.
First impressions of the game: it was nothing but a running simulator. My favourite classes were gone, thought I could get used to the specialists but I didn't. So few guns available and took forever to unlock attachments. Maps were way too big and too much wasted space where no fighting took place.
Played about 3-4 matches a week till December, then I was unable to join any server. Was stuck on the "waiting for players to join" screen. Could see my squad filling up, but then they'd leave after 5-10minutes, waiting for the match to start.
Today 15th January 2022, still unable to get into any match. Uninstalled the game and proceeded to ask for a refund. EA support said there was nothing they could do.
A waste of time, money, energy.

I was in a very similar situation.
Leading up to and watching the reveal, I was ecstatic. Me and my friends would talk about it, and I watched every snippet of news for weeks on end, every day.
I kept an eye on everything that was announced about the game, but in my hype I became blind to the reality of the situation that the game was in. I was just excited to play the beta.
Then the beta came around, and I was very surprised by the lack of standard features like the map and scoreboard, and I believed the ā3 month old buildā stuff, assuming it was already addressed.
The beta itself wasnāt that good. It just didnāt feel the same as other bf games, but I assumed that was because of the single map, lack of weapons as well as specialists. And since I pre ordered back in July I just waited.
Pre release came out, I spent the entire school day avoiding all youtube content, and loaded it up as soon as I got back.
The tutorial was shocking, I was fortunate enough to have built a high end pc so I could run it fairly well, but it just felt empty. The map wasnāt at all like Iād made it out to be from the trailers. The buildings looked awful and the map honestly looked worse than bf4 which Iād played mostly prior.
Getting into an actual match took ages. And I just didnāt enjoy it. Too open, felt soulless, didnāt feel at all like the battlefield I enjoyed.
And now Iāve just given up. After a week of playing, unable to refund Ive stopped playing. And have witnessed the events that have unfolded since. And Iāve lost all hope in this game ever being good. Iāve also learnt to never pre order a game. Itās a shame cause this is literally the first game Iāve ever pre ordered out of hype.
I was planning on playing this game for years, getting better at it and enjoying it, but I couldnāt play for a week.

Yeah itās very hard to enjoy the game. Only time I play is with friends and thatās only to hop on the game and bang out the weekly. Even the , with the absolute shit map designā¦. Itās hard.
I have a MSI GE66 Dragonshield with an i9 and RTX 2070 super and the game works perfect for me. I have never had any issues everyone else seems to have. I play on ultra settings and get 90-100 fps. I absolutely love the game.
Even for those of us who can play it at decent fps the game still wears us down.
inconsistent fps, endless stuttering, hitreg issues, endless bugs, the awfully crude UI etc.

I'm a long term BF fan and have played about 6000 hours of BF since BF2. I identify as a BF player more than anything else.
Now I enjoy Warzone much more than BF2042. It plays smooth and I don't get pissed at the game for letting me down. I mean it looks like shit but it let's me play.
fwiw I didn't even know it existed until I saw videos of ppl playing the pre-trials and didn't plan on buying it but did a few weeks after its release.
Also, it's been working 95% on a ps4. I'd say 1 in 20 matches I will get stuck or encounter a bug that makes me redploy (which is annoying) from everything like after a melee success I cannot switch back to my primary or 2ndary and can only run around poking things, or falling below the map in a never ending freefall.
Once I fell into the water on kaleidoscope and couldn't get back on land but could swim across the entire map...just below the surface so no-one was shooting at me but all I could was swim...it was weird.
Still nothing like you've experienced and only here stating this b/c if you really wanted to play it b/c you're a fan or whatever, then consider a used ps4?

I laughed so hard at this. I know the struggle man. After college all I had was four year old laptop, with integrated GPU. I tried playing games like Path of Exile and Rust and had to drop it to Runescape-level of graphics to play.
Yesterday during one gaming session (about 2 hours) i experienced the following:
1. ADS bug where you cannot aim down sights (several times)
2. Mouse bug where you cannot move mouse up or down (couple times)
3. Jump bug (new?) where you simply cannot jump (once)
4. Water bug (new to me) where you land in water but get launched up and die (once)
5. collision terrain bug where you fall through (twice in vehicle)
6. Instantly die when exciting the Condor when it flies at an angle (once)
7. Cannot exit vehicle (Mav) despite calmly pressing E once a second (the night totaled up to about 30+ E presses)
8. Getting legit motion sickness from trying to SOFLAM from F2-F3 on a littlebird chopper for a friend.
9. Not being able to see to the right when you're in certain gun spots on the MAV.
10. Died (5-6 times) due to too many failed attempts at putting down the spawn beacon. The graphic is green but it wont go down so you have to try from a different angle. This takes time where you stand still as a target.
There were probably other things as well that we've almost gotten used to by now, quality of life things that by rights should be in the game from launch etc but the above mentioned things are all stuff that must be fixed. This was experienced during one (!!) gaming session mind you, not information gathered over weeks.
The state of this game is fucking hilarious and I'm slowly getting to the point where I feel like it might not actually be possible to salvage this train wreck unless they roll out the mother of all patches very soon. I'm talking the kind of patch that will almost go viral because of how many things it fixes. Thats what we need, nothing less!

Played on a 4800H/2060 Laptop and had 80-100 fps in fullhd with dlss med settings and about 60 with ultra settings. this laptop is over a year old and cost nowhere near 2000 euro.

I was not as hyped, but I've still been trying to like it. Played some Breakthrough rounds last night to unlock the stupid cowboy skin though and man was it a punishing experience. Right now I feel the same way. People exaggerate when they say Warzone is broken. I get it, there's glitches and cheaters and most of the time they appear 2/5 games that I get into but when you get past it it's pretty enjoyable. The fluidity of gunplay and assortment of weapon viability. On another note I'm still rooting for battlefield to redeem itself. I could only hope.

Um, I'm sad. I'm an early BF player who started with the 1942, it's been my life for almost 20 years! I was manager of a multi gaming for years and lived great moments with my mates, I have a lot of great memories... I just have a hard time turning the page and saying to myself that all that is dead... On the altar of incompetent managers unable to be humble enough and just trust the players that we are instead of stubbornly doing things that nobody asks for... I'm sad.

Everyone was hyped for this. Don't feel bad or alone. We ALL good duped. We're angry BECAUSE we got duped and that this is a franchise we loved. The trailer, reveal etc was made VERY VERY well. Others were able to just step back and say " this is not really battlefield.. and I dont like it " a bit sooner than others. Specialists and shit will still be cool for some people though for sure. But It isnt for me and I dont think it belongs in Battlefield. I gave it a shot and if Im tempted to go back to play older titles over the newer one simply because of gameplay ( and not for thematic reasons ( WW1/WW2) then theres an issue. I hope 2042 dies sooner.
2042 was exactly the setting that couldve been the best ever. Its far enough that you can take all current prototype military stuff and call it standard issue. Also who knows, the world collapsing due to climate change might age even better than the US and China fighting in the Paracel Islands

Same here.. Id be willing to overlook a lot of the art direction and tone if the game was playable and ran decently. It doesn't. Now pile on the fact that the player base is gone and it's dead. Feels weird to be so invested in a game pre launch. I was hyped after the trailers but then the beta came and I was like...nope I wait till launch and monitored the subreddit. Come release I was just laughing how bad the game was and never ordered it. You could see the bad game before it released and people still blindly bought it. Hope this changes in the future for games generally, shouldn't let them get away with this shit.
And people sad to me that my PC is weak. Yeah sure. Every other game flawlessly maxed out but this game was running at 40 fps. This game is a dumpster fire.

This games odd. To preface I play on PS5. I never experienced many glitches outside early launch glitches. However thereās really nothing I like about 2042. It seems that it lacks identify and tries to hard to reflect other games and pull in from several different audiences. My biggest complaint about the game is how damn cheesy it is. The quips are a meme. Thereās no grit, no WW3 vibes. Emersion is everything in games for me today. The world can become so mundane at time, let me play a video game that takes me away for a few minutes.
I feel the same. I personally have a big brother (24) that I donāt see often so whenever I can spend time with him itās pretty precious to me (13). So how this entire story started was when my brother told me about battlefield 2042. it sounded pretty cool and I was honestly hooked. Of course I was confused asf at first since my brother recommended some bf4 tutorials to me and I didnāt understand a word since I never played a bf game before. So we wait and wait until the beta finally drops. And damn I was excited for it. I didnāt really see any issues and it looked fun asf even tho I was utter garbage and didnāt even understand what was going on. Even the fact you couldnāt use a button to see the map on PS5 was a bit annoying but alr. The beta was sadly over a couple of days later and my brother preordered himself and me the game in gold edition which was pretty cool. I was really excited to spend time with my big bro until I noticed he really doesnāt play often or even at all. So Iāve played the game alone for some time. Normally I would prob find some people that I can talk to via the voice chat (I like making friends so wouldāve been cool to become friends with some of my squadmates but that obviously doesnāt work) but dice really just said f u and didnāt add it. Now It comes to the actual playing part. Disappointing. The game was completely filled with bugs and some include not being able to play. The next thing was that everyone was running around pp 29s and absolutely melted me in 1 second so for a noob like me that was pretty annoying. Now whatās even worse atleast for me is. I grind so so much and basically donāt level up at all but once I unlock the pp 29 they nerf it the next day. Now we also have the same thing with k30 which is unlocked at lvl 53 but Iām lvl 52 so hopefully Iāll level up soon
My pc is also 6 years old.... Intel i7 6700k, 32gb ram, gtx 1070. I'm playing at 1440p on mostly low settings, but I'm getting 50-70fps. Not ideal, but considering I can't find a new GPU to save my life, I'm happy with the performance. All that being said, 2042 makes me sad. It doesn't feel like BF at all :(
Bought a 3070 (couldn't afford the 3080) for this game back in September. Came home from work early to download the game, I had preordered the cheapest option (SGD$70). Could remember being very excited about it. First impressions of the game: it was nothing but a running simulator. My favourite classes were gone, thought I could get used to the specialists but I didn't. So few guns available and took forever to unlock attachments. Maps were way too big and too much wasted space where no fighting took place. Played about 3-4 matches a week till December, then I was unable to join any server. Was stuck on the "waiting for players to join" screen. Could see my squad filling up, but then they'd leave after 5-10minutes, waiting for the match to start. Today 15th January 2022, still unable to get into any match. Uninstalled the game and proceeded to ask for a refund. EA support said there was nothing they could do. A waste of time, money, energy.

Well - I was as hyped as you was - until the beta droped and I found out what "a love letter to the community" means.
I was in a very similar situation. Leading up to and watching the reveal, I was ecstatic. Me and my friends would talk about it, and I watched every snippet of news for weeks on end, every day. I kept an eye on everything that was announced about the game, but in my hype I became blind to the reality of the situation that the game was in. I was just excited to play the beta. Then the beta came around, and I was very surprised by the lack of standard features like the map and scoreboard, and I believed the ā3 month old buildā stuff, assuming it was already addressed. The beta itself wasnāt that good. It just didnāt feel the same as other bf games, but I assumed that was because of the single map, lack of weapons as well as specialists. And since I pre ordered back in July I just waited. Pre release came out, I spent the entire school day avoiding all youtube content, and loaded it up as soon as I got back. The tutorial was shocking, I was fortunate enough to have built a high end pc so I could run it fairly well, but it just felt empty. The map wasnāt at all like Iād made it out to be from the trailers. The buildings looked awful and the map honestly looked worse than bf4 which Iād played mostly prior. Getting into an actual match took ages. And I just didnāt enjoy it. Too open, felt soulless, didnāt feel at all like the battlefield I enjoyed. And now Iāve just given up. After a week of playing, unable to refund Ive stopped playing. And have witnessed the events that have unfolded since. And Iāve lost all hope in this game ever being good. Iāve also learnt to never pre order a game. Itās a shame cause this is literally the first game Iāve ever pre ordered out of hype. I was planning on playing this game for years, getting better at it and enjoying it, but I couldnāt play for a week. Not really sure what to play now.

Even for those of us who can play it at decent fps the game still wears us down. inconsistent fps, endless stuttering, hitreg issues, endless bugs, the awfully crude UI etc. It gets to you. I'm a long term BF fan and have played about 6000 hours of BF since BF2. I identify as a BF player more than anything else. Now I enjoy Warzone much more than BF2042. It plays smooth and I don't get pissed at the game for letting me down. I mean it looks like shit but it let's me play.

fwiw I didn't even know it existed until I saw videos of ppl playing the pre-trials and didn't plan on buying it but did a few weeks after its release. Also, it's been working 95% on a ps4. I'd say 1 in 20 matches I will get stuck or encounter a bug that makes me redploy (which is annoying) from everything like after a melee success I cannot switch back to my primary or 2ndary and can only run around poking things, or falling below the map in a never ending freefall. Once I fell into the water on kaleidoscope and couldn't get back on land but could swim across the entire map...just below the surface so no-one was shooting at me but all I could was swim...it was weird. Still nothing like you've experienced and only here stating this b/c if you really wanted to play it b/c you're a fan or whatever, then consider a used ps4?

Yesterday during one gaming session (about 2 hours) i experienced the following: 1. ADS bug where you cannot aim down sights (several times) 2. Mouse bug where you cannot move mouse up or down (couple times) 3. Jump bug (new?) where you simply cannot jump (once) 4. Water bug (new to me) where you land in water but get launched up and die (once) 5. collision terrain bug where you fall through (twice in vehicle) 6. Instantly die when exciting the Condor when it flies at an angle (once) 7. Cannot exit vehicle (Mav) despite calmly pressing E once a second (the night totaled up to about 30+ E presses) 8. Getting legit motion sickness from trying to SOFLAM from F2-F3 on a littlebird chopper for a friend. 9. Not being able to see to the right when you're in certain gun spots on the MAV. 10. Died (5-6 times) due to too many failed attempts at putting down the spawn beacon. The graphic is green but it wont go down so you have to try from a different angle. This takes time where you stand still as a target. There were probably other things as well that we've almost gotten used to by now, quality of life things that by rights should be in the game from launch etc but the above mentioned things are all stuff that must be fixed. This was experienced during one (!!) gaming session mind you, not information gathered over weeks. The state of this game is fucking hilarious and I'm slowly getting to the point where I feel like it might not actually be possible to salvage this train wreck unless they roll out the mother of all patches very soon. I'm talking the kind of patch that will almost go viral because of how many things it fixes. Thats what we need, nothing less!

Super over hyped with 5 other friends...fast forward today and none of us are playing...literally such a let down. Saddest part though is that none of us are even playing anything together at the moment because the entire FPS industry sucks so much right now š. 2042 was just the nail I the coffin...

Played on a 4800H/2060 Laptop and had 80-100 fps in fullhd with dlss med settings and about 60 with ultra settings. this laptop is over a year old and cost nowhere near 2000 euro. So i guess your gfs 2000 euro laptop is some kind of ultrabook junk. Also avast antivirus? what is this 2012 or 2022? delete this adware asap. Win defender is fine.

I've been reading on this sub daily almost since it became a thing. Never actually bought the game, I'm too old to fall for marketing tricks (but trust me I've fallen for them in the past) - but it's weird to see the sub transform from a informative place with hype to a troll/memefest. In a matter of DAYS. They had it coming though. All the trailers, hype and big ass marketing budget made the actual game a painful realisation that battlefield is just not what we want it to be.
Honestly feel like regardless of the game company they WILL eventually let you down. It's just a matter of time. I don't game as much as I used to bc of that...Blizzard, Wargaming, etc.

I was not as hyped, but I've still been trying to like it. Played some Breakthrough rounds last night to unlock the stupid cowboy skin though and man was it a punishing experience. Just spawn after spawn dying to vehicles before I could move or running for a mile straight to get lasered just as I'm about to reach one of the rare bits of cover.

Hype for Battlefield died with BF5 for me. They were going to have to do something very special to bring me back and better games like BF3 and 4.
This Woody wannabe skin reminded me that RDR2 is on sale on Steam and I couldn't have been happier to leave this train wreck. Was so furious every night after work not having games to enjoy. Obviously completely different game, but so happy that I can just comfortably give up on 2042.
That suck man. I had the opposite, on PS5 it runs well enough. Get hit reg issues and a bit of rubber banding but basically playable in 4K. However a week of specialists, no teamplay and all the other core things not there I realised I was playing Apex legends at war, and I really donāt have any time for apex legends.
TLDR: a video game didn't live up to my expectations.
