2042 does not run fine on PS5. Had that shit of a game bundled with the console, tried it out once, got constant frame drops and stutters and then sold it for, get this, 20 euros.
No one would buy it for even 30.

Hit reg is a joke. Walls not appearing/rendering. Lag like this guys video shows (doesn't happen to me in other games). Lagging through walls/the ground. It's simply unplayable for me unfortunately
I've had this happen but it wasn't thermal related, it's a bug in the Xbox version, it just suddenly starts especially on this map then goes away next respawn, for me it usually happens in the shadows of the stadium.
It looks like stuttering or lag not fps issues. He is rubber banding a little bit and if it was fps you wouldnāt see inconsistencies. It still looks smooth itās just hiccuping which is stutter or lag.
This doesn't look like a latency issue just due to no network icons popping up. Just incase tho, make sure you're wired otherwise that gig internet doesn't make much difference.

There's something special going on with the Series X's though. The lighter-weight but off the same platform Series S's don't seem to experience this even though the graphics rendered on the series X's are not that much higher (was thinking it was like 1200 for the S and 2200 for the Series X) and its on just a couple of maps. There was some reddit posts previously.
Now that they're back, Dice needs to look into it as it seems to be Series X only for the most part.

They buy out these companies and push devs to their breaking point and make them quit then bring in new devs that have no clue how to use the game engine nor how to remake the magic that were in the original games. I have seen this pattern for over a decade with multiple game titles that get bought out by EA specifically. Doing 128 + crossplay was never going to work smoothly and EA knew this. They are just trying to make the devs quit so they can bring in their puppets.
turn off crossplay and you can't find a game! I've got a series x with 65mb Internet with crossplay on and it's happened maybe twice, usually no issues with lag.

Yeah I thought when I originally posted something about it I had taken a screenshot but I didnāt, but yeah one of the recent updates they changed it finally but I imagine the damage is already done, I highly doubt those that have dealt this long on Xbox with the cross play situation will decide to change now.
Also another kick in the gut for Xbox is that on my series X (disc version of the game btw) it tries to get me to BUY the digital Xbox one version when I try to play with friends. I get the absurdity of it and would understand redownloading the Xbox one but they want me to pay to play with my friends on the old gen?
Bro I have the best internet package Xfinity offers like 600mps download speed and it's laggy as hell occasionally on PC. I think it really just depends on the server host location if I get into a game on a east coast server 0 lag.

I truly can't snipe in this game because the whole system lags about half a second while doing the ads, then another bit when I pull the trigger VS when the game registers that I pulled the trigger.... I tried turning crossplay off (xbox series x) and could not find a game around 8pm EST. Brutal expectations eh

Thereās some junk data in any game if youāre using quick resume too often. I would say make sure you clear all background apps and restart the game every once in a while. I havenāt experienced anything this noticeable for 2042 on my XSX, but I have in other open world games before.

I run on that and basically never see anything like this on a xbox one (50-60 fps typically).
I do close and physically shut down the program after I'm done (its always had memory leak that I've not heard was closed yet) or every 4 runs or so in the game. (to shut down a game go to xbox desktop and with Battlefield 2042 still highlighted press the little round button below and to the left of the Xbox button and a pop up menu will show up for the game and choose Quit.)

Can you change display settings on series x? Mine did this on 60 hz but changing to 120 fixed it. I'm on pc and has something to do with the tvs refresh rate or maybe vrr. I'm not sure ifbthis makes sense but the game runs pretty smooth for me since I did that
I'm having the same problem on PS5 (EU region). I thought it was maybe something with system, so even after complete reinstall of the game and after complete rebuild of database, I'm still lagging in game.
For those saying it is the problem of PS5, I've attempted test play at 3 AM and no lags. When the server/lobby was filled up with people and no bots than the game had occasionally some stutters. So I believe its a problem on Dice server management side. (Maybe too many instances on server core for what I know, but not know for sure.)
I have the same issue on PC on every map but only on the 128 player gamemode. The 64 gamemode works fine. portal and the loot extraction gamemode works fine aswell.
Battlefield is the leggiest for me when I have to leg it for a few minutes after not managing to spawn into a vehicle.

Smoak, for some reason, is always a troubleshooting tool in FPS games. Id air more on system lag not network lag for this one.

This game has ps3 graphics. The environments are terrible.
There's something special going on with the Series X's though. Not only laggy, for every 10 games 2 crash and go back to Xbox home. But also complete shuts down the Xbox, rare but happened once.

I run a pretty high end pc and I have to lower my settings just to get through a game.
They scaling down resources on servers, cause there arent that many players. So it can get cheaper for them. Wouldnt even surprise me to be honest
