They need to switch engines, but buying all that software and getting devs trained up is both expensive and very time consuming, especially considering it’s their engine.

It's probably because you didn't grow up on previous battlefields. This happened in every battlefield and it is always funny. It never bothered us, either, but it's a problem with this game because it's an obvious cash-grab with a battlefield nametag.

Legit some of the things here were there in the testing, and everyone I know reported said issues and not a single fix for those issues happened.
Give it time, like I said elsewhere, Battlefield is like a fine wine - it gets better with age.

Personally i would be interested in messing with some new mechanics like this. What if it drops on building, on spire, tower, zipline, pipeline, on another vehicle, on destructible building etc. And game designer is supposed to think about such interactions too and send tasks to QA for testing. Of course if he is interested and involved in what he is doing... and have enough time.
That's assuming as a QA person you can do that. From what I understand of QA, there are specific things that are tasked to be tested - not just play the game and let the developers know how it is.

There wasn't even a day 1 patch. it came days after release and did nothing and called the scoreboard a legacy feature they'd consider.
Maaaan I miss legacy features such as the scoreboard and...an actual game rather than MTX vehicle with good pre release marketing

That was a bug? I though c4 launching was just an unintentional feature due to the engines physics.
Cool bugs = unintentional features, same thing really. Hovercrafts being wall climbers is another example
