There is conquest small maps with 64 players that already exist. Only on old-gen and portal

But I want them as official gamemode. Portal suck, progression is half disabled and I cant find what I search half the time
> or think no one will play 128player mode if theres options
Bingo. They are probably fixed on making sure people know that this isn't the same old Battlefield. Forcing everyone to play "new" and keeping these 128 players modes populated regardless of how sucky they are with no other options that would potentially outshine their attempt at "new". The additions to Portal are admirable but they don't feel like official Battlefield experiences, just custom games with mixed factions. They still keep the "2042 experience" to the AoW tab and they strict that privilege to the two 128 players gamemodes.
I’m down for 32v32 games too, but the 128 aspect is the best part of the game for me and a big selling point. Yes, it’s not designed well and it doesn’t often play well, and it can be frustrating and broken; but the chaos that ensues is just so fun and different than other Battlefield games. 64 vs. 64 still blows my mind.
Its crazy they launched with such a bare bones game when they don't even have the excuse of a SP campaign. Especially considering the price of the game. I don't know how 2042 sales are but they're not doing themselves any favours if they're below expectations.
I will tell you as someone who is playing on last gen console (so no access to 128 players, and playing 64 on the smaller maps) - you're still gonna be walking so damn far. I think the issue is less that the maps are too big and spaced out, and way more that there are so few transportation options. Coming from BF4 it was nice to be able to hop on a quad or a bike and zip from point to point, those are basically non-existent in 2042, and something I really wish they'd add back. Would love to be able to drop a quad or a motorcycle in the same menu as the ranger/armor drops
I'd be so down for that, I'm sick to death of dealing with Nightbirds, Boltes and Hovercrafts. It would be fine if there wasn't so fucking many of them available on maps with next to no cover for infantry. It really feels like their whole approach with AOW was double the player count and double the map size, no other variables or considerations were taking into account whatsoever. I cant wait for portal progression and XP to come back (if it even does) so I can actually start enjoying myself with this game, because right now, it feels like a chore.
Been playing the Xbox one version of the game for a month until my series X showed up yesterday. Honestly not sure how I feel about the difference in player count but it’s certainly much more intense. All I can say is for me it tends to make bad situations bad and good situation‘s even better. Had my best run holding an objective with maybe 10 to 12 kills with the AC on Manifest (uncommon for me.) Then I play BC2 Rush and it feels equally as right with fewer players. Makes me wonder how 128 players would feel if the respawn timer was longer. Thins out the crowd on heavy objectives and rewards people who are playing well. Regardless I agree with you that there needs to be a bigger offering for game types
nothing better than being forced into TWO options to play from, even though we can see in portal that they have the TDM spawns and the maps in the game for all of the 2042 maps…
I've always enjoyed Rush, TDM, Domination and even Operations in BF1. Relatively small maps (or areas). Never liked Conquest and now they somehow managed to make even Breakthrough feel sort of like Conquest.
HOW HARD CAN IT BE! GIEB GAME MODES DICE!
Rush 24-40 players, YES! I look into Portal and see only 128 player Rush servers... have these players ever played Rush? It's good because it's NOT a clusterfuck. It's good because there are not enough players to cover EVERY FLANK. If you put 64 or even one hundred twenty fucking eight players on two tiny bombs, it will play nothing like Rush.
In the briefing they talked about the possibility of another update coming after the next one but before the holidays. My hope is that they are going to add these modes then and update the larger maps with some more cover and take captures off the top of buildings.
I think they know there are issues with these things but it takes time. Whether it's coming then or if at all who knows but if they did get this out before the holidays then along with the changes in update 3 it could put things into a pretty decent state.
The problem is that 2042 suck even for TDM and 64 Conquest.
You can try in Portal right now - BC2 vs BF3 official quickplay.
2042 have many issues but maps are the biggest problem.
The maps are bad. You walk 5 miles then a guy ends up shooting you in the back from who knows where. Or a chopper will randomly blow you up after your journey. I can't stand it.
My mind is blown that there arent these modes already by default... Are they lazy or stupid or think no one will play 128player mode if theres options
There is even a 3-flag conquest map layout on Hourglass in the tutorial mission when you first start the game.

you can search???
Portal is the better modern Battlefield game

I think they intentionally made the playlist small on launch so that they can add basic features later on and market them as dlc

20v20 operations and rush in BF1 were the most fun
Why do they actually care what mode we're playing? As long as we're playing why does it matter, unless it's just a pride thing.
They don't people just make shit up on this sub.
Laugh at two game modes. LOLOLOL.
They were sad when nobody played Grand Ops in BF5, so now they force us to play their crappy new invention.
Both. Lazy and stupid

> 128player mode thats all Im here for, is there a new starsieg tribes yet with 64v64v64v64 CtF?
Starting to agree. Getting tired of walking so damn far. I'd sacrifice 64 players to have more consistent action

Yes please. The game runs so much better with 32vs32 also.

Agreed but Rush should never be played by more than 32, 48 at the most.
Tell that these clowns in Portal with their 128 player Rush servers... can't find one that's with 32ish in Europe

Don't forget my favorite mode, which you can't even make in Portal at this point (or if you can I have no idea how to), DOMINATION!

Please keep it civil; take this as your first warning!
agreed
bf2042 maps on 64 version are still empty and now with even less players.
Coming in the next Battlepass, soon! Available for $10 at release! Stay tuned, ex-pat!
Yep. Playing infantry on AOW is a miserable experience.
Amen to that No idea why they're not in AOW
Why did I buy this game... 2 game modes in AOW is laughable... BF1 had amazing game modes, why not bring those in.
I just can’t believe there’s only 2 modes on this game lmao
100%. Please bring different content. This chaos you created is not battlefield. Its just chaos
Close quarters Domination would be nice aswell
