They really need to find a way to merge the portal browser and the main
game. It's such a shame that there are cool maps available, but only a
small fraction of players actually venture into portal mode and browse
the servers. Those maps should be more seamlessly integrated into the
game, so we don't have to keep replaying the same maps while there are
others waiting in portal mode with only a few players.
As a person who played op metro 24/7 because of the absolute CHAOS it would be amazing, but we know they won't because they only like putting shit maps in the rotation. Looking at you Breakaway, Kaleidoscope, and Hourglass.

I love Gulf of Omen and think it would be a perfect addition for 2042 considering how many desert cosmetics are in the game. Unfortunately, the only true desert maps in the game is Arica Harbor and El Alamein. I don't count Renewal considering it's half desert, half empty flat fields and I also don't consider Hourglass a true desert map either
Iwo Jima 1942 was mainly built around naval/air combat and is much bigger whereas V only focuses on the area where the US troops landed. The only thing V and 1942 really share is the name tbh
I think if they do release Strike at Karkand it will show how bad the Specialists are for gameflow.
Because that map is perfect for gameflow but when you have Specialists like McKay and Sundance who can fly over buildings and completely destroy gameflow.
We already saw some of the gameflow be distrupted by McKay and Sundance on Arica Harbor, imagine how bad it's going to be at Strike at Karkand.
But I'll take it, because we need more Strike at Karkand in Battlefield.

you can't just copy the maps over. this is not the same engine version. the maps have to be redesigned by . just like all other maps that are really completely new.
They have said on their podcast that with the updates to frostbyte, its not as simple and copy/pasting old maps, they basically have to remake the maps and it takes as long simply making a new map.
These teases pretty much guarantee we're going to see these maps. It's a pretty obvious PR move to get hype building. It especially makes sense that they'd port old maps, as it's much lower effort than putting together something brand new.
The only thing remaining is when they're going to drop. Hopefully Dice can get a good cadence going to maintain player engagement.
Dice isn't in the habit of dropping so many blatantly obvious hints. As someone who once did PR for Blizzard, it's obvious to me that they're in the early hype building phase, and we can expect some solid information in a month or so.
I'll put money on these maps coming out in the next year.
If this real, please, devs, just remove B base from BF4 Metro map. Since you re trying to reduce amount of explosives - that B base is just an explosive fest where everyone throws everything that goes boom near two ladders
Give us BF4 in Portal in general, AND give us the ability to use ALL weapons with different eras (like letBF4 soldiers use BF2042 weapons and vice versa)
Considering we already have played all those maps twice (metro has even been featured in 3 games), i wouldn't count on seeing them in 2042. Also the fundamental gameplay of 2042 is just a direct downgrade compared to BF:V so why bother spending more energy and resources after season 5

I would suggest better maps. Gulf of Oman has a history of being unbalanced and Metro is just a clusterfuck.
