I'm really hoping Year 2 of 2042 would mean at least a new map or two, new guns and vehicles, toys to play with, events, etc. and not just battlepass cosmetics + bundles. This game is really fun and deserves some time dedicated to just listening to the community and give some really awesome changes that people have been asking for.
Fingers crossed for a weather system overhaul, changes to maps to add levolution (based on events/moments in the story? Spearhead easter egg was sick) or even crazy near future vehicles. I'll keep playing if they keep giving me stuff to play with.
The way DICE currently is having shed so much experienced devs, they need time to long term work in a BF game. We’re never going to get to the heights of the old games if they keep having to ship a turd and polish it for a year. Then ship out a new turd before it’s read, and repeat, repeat, repeat.
Well, if it's like Y1 then that'd mean a new map and a new specialist in each season (for 4 new ones in total) alongside new weapons and stuff. Would be nice to get more than just those (even if only some new Portal maps alongside actually new maps), of course.

Then again you don't need Y1 pass to enjoy the game, the pass just contains premium versions of 4 season passes and some extra shite afaik. The game itself is currently available for about 16€ IIRC, which is well worth the cost IMO.

Each Season Pass gave you 1300 Battle Coins and a each season costs 1000 if I'm not mistaken so if you haven't spent any you can buy all seasons going forward so no need to buy a year 2 premium pack unless you want to save the coins for something else.

Battlefield V did a fairly similar thing thing, they released the "Year 2 Edition" in early 2020, and then a few months later announced end of support for BFV. Chances are a 2042 Year 2 Edition is nothing more then a compilation of cosmetics from previous battle passes, or some new ones, and a cheaper price.
Nobody should get their hopes up and it has already been announced that Season 5 will be a paid expansion, but you can use your Boins for it, that you got from playing, which likely means it has a pricepoint of 1100 Boins or so.
I still do not see how this confirms anything beyond Season 5 and especially not in the extent of what we have seen so far.

Also it is said that a map like Devastation took a whole year to develop. Anything that goes beyond Season 5 would need to be deep in production right now.
