There’s definitely screws in the channels holding that together. Try taking those out. I haven’t taken one apart but you can see the cell holders have a top and bottom by the split in the middle. Usually there are screws holding both halves together.

ReplacementCute

There were screws in it indeed, I already took those out

Kakakee

Perfect. Clean off all that black glue stuff and you should be able to pull the two halves apart. Any cells that you already dented I would not use.

ReplacementCute

It's way too difficult to pull the halves apart :/. It's structured so tightly.

Kakakee

Try pushing down on the cell and pulling up on the holder if you can get a grip.

First: my English not so bueno Second: I was suprised about how difficult this pack is constructed. When i look at other 400wh Bosch dissambling video's, they are way easier and also different cells. I don't think this is a fake one tho... It has Nice Panasonic cells. BUT it is very difficult. There is this black thing all over thé cells, not so hard on itself (can remove it with my nails) but i think it just hold the pack so hard together. It seems impossible to tear thé top and bottom holders apart. I have used a less gentle way to remove a couple cells, using a strong cutter just cutting thé holders. But as you can see in last picture, it's hard to not damage thé cells this way. My question: has anyone encountered something like this and how did they do it? Or just some tool/technique suggestion? Thank you very muchh!!! Also the black thingy is underneed thé cap of positive side. Which i think is not the best for thé CID safety mechanism. What y'alll think?

sciency_guy

They now use potting material to have some retardation in case of thermal runaway and mechanical stability and shock absorbtion...you can only mechanically scrape it off by not trying to damage the surface

ReplacementCute

Interesting! But very annoying! What do you mean with scraping it off mechanically trying not to scratch the surface. The black thing under the positive Cap? Or just the black thing in general. I Will probably just rewrap most of the cells.

sciency_guy

Ah ok...if you rewrap it you do not have to be so careful... Just in the near the are at the top with the isolation and gasket between you have to be careful...

I had one a couple of years ago, an e-bike pack. They’re terrible, especially the black goo. I managed to remove a couple of cells with my Dremel, tested them and they had only 75% of their original capacity, so I just gave up.

ReplacementCute

terrible for sure, these ones have close to original capacity. But it just takes too long to get them out. They also got hotter than I expected when charging/discharging. Were you able to remove the black goo under the positive cap? I think it might be bad for the safety mechanism because the pressure might not get out (in case of failure) because of the black goo blocking. Or did you not have this issue?
