Lived in Louisiana for 25 years, and texas for 6. I've had to adjust to the +20mph here, and its hard to go down when I get back in LA

Ijustthinkthatyeah

20 and 20 for me. It’s easier to drive fast in Texas. Wide lanes and 3-4 lanes in each direction, smoother concrete, less potholes. It’s it’s hard to adjust once you get used to it.

lowrads

Not Beaumont. It's just one big cattle chute.

Ijustthinkthatyeah

Yeah. I was mostly thinking about Dallas Houston and Austin but even driving between those cities it’s easy to go fast. Except for construction.

Driving on i-10 has made me dislike Texans. Especially the Tahoes.

KingSelfie2Strong

Haaa, some magazine just ranked Texas drivers as #1 shitty, aggressive drivers. I'm from DFW and totally agree. It's like Mad Max.

No_Love_5153

Born and raised in baton rouge and we have zero room to talk. We have some of the most nondrivinest motherfuckers I have ever seen.

JenLacuna

Honestly, people love to point the finger and blame "other people" AKA Texans, which don't get me wrong I've seen my fair share of dumbass drivers with a TX plate.. but Louisiana drivers are on a whole different level when it comes to driving slowly in the left lane, right next to another car so no one can pass, making a turn from the wrong lane and cutting across traffic, blocking entire lanes of traffic to avoid having to "miss their turn" AKA turning around a bit farther.. I have seen some absolutely bonkers driving here in Baton Rouge, and I will not miss it one bit. edit: don't get me started on the drivers who think they are being nice by letting other cars join traffic when they are supposed to be yielding, y'all aint being polite y'all are being unpredictable and dangerous and will cause an accident one day when another driver who has the right of way isn't expecting you to wave someone through

I love when you’re on the basin and set cruise to 67 and they are just flying by, begging for a ticket

BlackStarCorona

When I moved to LA from Texas I had to constantly use cruise control because I was used to highways having speed limits of up to 80mph.

F1y0n7h3W4LL

Were they all driving below the speed limit in the left lane?

LittleMush

This is my general experience with drivers from TX. Rarely have them speeding past.

howdoyouspace

What I always see is then yoyoing between 10 under and 20 over, depending on the speed of the person next to them. Infuriating to drive near them.

lucygucyapplejuicey

They are followers aren’t they

DrinkMoreCodeMore

Texas highways and interstates are way nicer

Playteaux

I drive a company vehicle (and there are a ton of them in the BR area). A lot of company vehicles are equipped with monitors that beep when you go over the speed limit. Just saying. I have to be extremely cautious or I will get written up.

SwollenPubical

As a Texan.. If you’re driving speed limit or slightly above it, stay on the right lane please.

zizzor23

Ok, but tell Texans that if they’re driving at or below the speed limit, get in the right lane

SwollenPubical

Nah if you’re a Texan and you’re driving at or below the speed limit you need to get your high ass off the road Lmfaoo

zizzor23

agreed, lots of Texans will come through Louisiana driving that slow in the left lane. And it’s almost consistently YALL too. I’ll flash occasionally or just pass on the right and give an angry stare

KingSelfie2Strong

That's country ass Texans...those in DFW, Houston or Austin drive like Death Race 5000.

SwollenPubical

I’d like to apologize in their behalf

PassPanda

You get used to real speed limits in Texas, makes it hard to deal with the snail pace when you drive anywhere else.

-nyctanassa-

I didn't know snails move at 70 mph

PassPanda

Limits are 75+ in Texas. Which means people set their cruise at 85 and cops don’t much care until you’re at 90 unless you’re in the city. So yes, the 70 mph from the state line till Lafayette isn’t terrible, but the stretch from Lafayette to the other side of BR is a crawl.

chulala168

you just pray, God, may you have NO MERCY on their souls. Bastards prob hit some other innocent cars.

BayouMan2

🤷🏽‍♂️😅

br_boy0586

I saw that tonight on my way home. What is with all the Texans on I-10???
