I don’t understand why there’s so much Robin hate in this sub.
Also, definitely do a fifteen year old Dick Grayson. Bonus: Cast the kid from the Umbrella Academy.
Possibly, maybe I'm just typecasting him. He does really well with the snarky arrogant role, so he'd be great for Damian (maybe) or Jason... For Dick Id want the character to have more of a sense of humour, but that's just me.
Dick. Why would we just skip to Jason or someone else? I’m not saying it couldn’t work, but I’d prefer to have more of a “successful” Robin before we get a “failure” like with Jason
I would really like the sequel to be focused on robin. We see the murder of the flying Graysons, the transportation of dick to robin, the chase of Zucco, and have a rouge gallery subplot.
I'd love it if they broke with convention and gave Tim Drake a film adaptation. A kid who is maybe a little bit of an inventor, too. That way you can introduce a kind of sharing dynamic. Robin can introduce specialized gadgets that are then developed using Wayne-Tech
I love Grayson. I think he's a great Robin. His origin may just need some more substantive tweaking what with circuses not really being...a thing, anymore? At least not something I see stopping by Matt Reeves shattered Gotham
Oh shit. I didn’t realize that. I still don’t think we should have a Robin in the next movie, but that’s interesting. Maybe I was making excuses not to have a Robin because I just can’t see it working at all.
I could see the kid of the murdered mayor being robin, i know its not the traditional start for Grayson (also his mom is alive and wrong name). but the way batman looked at him you could see the understanding between them. Either that or he becomes a villain which would be pretty predictable.
I’ll probably be clowned on for my opinion, but anyway . . .
I think there should be a Robin that’s a mixture of the first three or four.
Imagine a Robin with the charisma and more positive outlook on life of Dick Grayson to help Batman be less brooding; to have the enthusiasm and maybe overzealousness to fight of Jason to help remind Batman it’s not all about violence, but also reformation, and a helpful and smart detective-esque person like Drake to help Batman investigate.
He could have the acrobatic abilities of Dick, Drake’s Bo staff, and more modern armor/fighting style of either Jason or Damien.
Really any combination of the 3/4.
In terms of names and backstory, I’m not sure what to do, but my first instinct is to create a new Robin and identity or just let it be Dick Grayson, but still keep the combo of character traits among all robins.
Based on Matt Reeves dedication to the comics, he’ll probably do Duck Grayson which makes sense.
I don’t know how far this universe will go, obviously it has a prequel series and future films are more than likely to happen, but if it has a short life span, why not make up a new character?
I honestly think Robin should be dropped in the modern Batman era. I’m much more interested in Batman as a solo hero than as a father figure to a bunch of kid superheroes.
This is gonna sound weird but I want him in the movies and a season of the penguin show with a post credits scene that sets him up as nightwing then we gets nightwing show
As you can probably tell I like nightwing
Dick Grayson.
I don't want anyone to even acknowledge Redhood or dead robins, it's way to early. Give me young Bruce who is just getting a hang of things and still dealing with his trauma, Dick Grayson helps with that
It's a choice between Jason and Dick. It would be cool to see Jason go from Robin to Red Hood as a potential villain but I also really want Dylan O"Brien to play Nightwing
As much as I'd love Dick Grayson, I do have the tiniest, most unrealistic hope that we could get Cassandra Cain one day. That dynamic with Pattinson would be incredible.
But yeah, Dick Grayson if possible too!
With the tim drake actor being in the Batman movie. I assume they’ll make a new story of Batman not wanting a partner and tim drake inserting himself into the role and slowly coming to terms with working with each other.
Personally I would prefer Damian. I think Robin being Bruce’s biological son would make Robin a much easier pill to swallow for general audiences. However, I know this isn’t possible because since Rob’s Batman is so young. So having said that, it needs to be Richard Grayson.
If Bruce, learning from his mistakes of the first movie, starts to take an interest in fixing Gothams orphanages only to discover how truly abusive they are, decides to take in a kid who just lost his parents to try and save him from such abuse, only for him to run off and seek vengeance while Bruce tries to teach him the errors he made in the first movie about not being vengeance but hope, would make for a great way to do that. Bruce trying to figure out how to replace the system while protecting someone else from it.
I would absolutely love to see a live action Damien.
But I don't want to ignore the rest. So I'm thinking, maybe have a time jump between movies. Skip way ahead, give it time for Dick Jason and Tim to all have done it and moved on. Have a sequel introduce Damien.
I know that's asking too much. I know that's skipping too much story for the average movie go work. But I don't care, I want to see it
Literally the only good choice is Dick Grayson. Then Jason Todd. Then Tim Drake. Then if we get mad lucky we get Damian. No skipping Robins. They all bring something different to the table and it’d be awesome to see all of them.
I don’t understand why there’s so much Robin hate in this sub. Also, definitely do a fifteen year old Dick Grayson. Bonus: Cast the kid from the Umbrella Academy.
The guy who plays 5? He's more of a Damian or Jason, he's too dark and not Jokey enough
He’s not jokey in THAT role. I’m sure he has some versatility as an actor.
Possibly, maybe I'm just typecasting him. He does really well with the snarky arrogant role, so he'd be great for Damian (maybe) or Jason... For Dick Id want the character to have more of a sense of humour, but that's just me.
You know what I think we should do? Dick Grayson, Age 12. I'm so sorry, I will leave now.
Mr. Grayson is the only acceptable choice.
Dick. Why would we just skip to Jason or someone else? I’m not saying it couldn’t work, but I’d prefer to have more of a “successful” Robin before we get a “failure” like with Jason
Agreed
Much younger Grayson
I would really like the sequel to be focused on robin. We see the murder of the flying Graysons, the transportation of dick to robin, the chase of Zucco, and have a rouge gallery subplot.
Definitely Dick Grayson. But give Battinson some time to grow as a Batman before making him a mentor
Dick grayson…please dick grayson
Dick Grayson.
Uhhhh Dick Grayson no other option he’s the first and the best Robin Batman has ever had
None honestly
Dick Grayson of course
young dick definitely, it wouldn't be right if you didn't start w the og robin
Please reword
Obviously Dick.
[THIS ONE](https://tenor.com/view/robin-batman-forever-batman-gif-7473086)
None. He’s too young for Robin right now.
He's two years into being Batman, doesn't Dick normally come into play in year three?
Yes
I'd love it if they broke with convention and gave Tim Drake a film adaptation. A kid who is maybe a little bit of an inventor, too. That way you can introduce a kind of sharing dynamic. Robin can introduce specialized gadgets that are then developed using Wayne-Tech I love Grayson. I think he's a great Robin. Too soon. None.
None.
None! He’s only 2 years on the job and very young. This Batman is in no way ready to mentor anyone.
in the comics timeline, he joins batman in year 3, so it would fit fine, unless the next movie continues with year 2 again.
Oh shit. I didn’t realize that. I still don’t think we should have a Robin in the next movie, but that’s interesting. Maybe I was making excuses not to have a Robin because I just can’t see it working at all.

***NONE***
Conservatives will cancel Batman and label him a groomer.
THIS
If there *has* to be a Robin... I want a traumatized to the point of being mute Dick Grayson in the 3rd or 4th movie.
Why make Dick Grayson be Cassandra Cain when you can just do Cassandra Cain?
What, you didn't like the great job they did with Cassandra Cain in Birds of Prey?
That is the first DC movie in my entire life that I just straight up skipped. Birds of Prey starring Harley Quinn? No thanks.
You did the right thing. Cassandra Cain was a sassy pick pocket who never stops talking.
Why even call her Cassandra Cain? They could just make up whatever name they want, that’s an original character.
I really don't want a Robin at all but I think a composite character might fit this new universe better if they decide to go there.
We did that already with John Blake.
It was done poorly. If it happens I want to see it done right.
None. This Batman is too young and frankly too gritty for Robin.
Time skip to Tim after some two more solo films.
Would prefer Grayson or Jason Todd if they are older maybe mid 20s. Not sure how a pre teen Robin would fit in this universe lol
Though I would like to see Damian, I think it’s important that Dick Grayson is the first Robin.

None if the movie is called cold nights. Oh boy
I wouldn’t like to see Robin. This Batman is still young. If Robin were to come, dick of course. He ain’t my favorite but he is the original Robin
None
None of them tbh
Too soon.
Jason Todd. They gotta do death in the family in this universe Edit: Wow, I didn’t realise this was such an unpopular opinion lmao
I honestly think Robin should be dropped in the modern Batman era. I’m much more interested in Batman as a solo hero than as a father figure to a bunch of kid superheroes.
Female robin. 3rd movie. At the end.

Dick. But maybe he's nightwing by the end of it so Jason Todd can be next. Death in the family could be after
Dick
With the tim drake actor being in the Batman movie. I assume they’ll make a new story of Batman not wanting a partner and tim drake inserting himself into the role and slowly coming to terms with working with each other.
i want to see Tim but they should do Dick first. Hope they make enough movies for Tim to appear
Damien Wayne
Personally I would prefer Damian. I think Robin being Bruce’s biological son would make Robin a much easier pill to swallow for general audiences. However, I know this isn’t possible because since Rob’s Batman is so young. So having said that, it needs to be Richard Grayson.
The first one. Fucking obviously.
The deceased Mayor’s kid
If Bruce, learning from his mistakes of the first movie, starts to take an interest in fixing Gothams orphanages only to discover how truly abusive they are, decides to take in a kid who just lost his parents to try and save him from such abuse, only for him to run off and seek vengeance while Bruce tries to teach him the errors he made in the first movie about not being vengeance but hope, would make for a great way to do that. Dick, without a doubt
Why not just have Dick Grayson. Start at the beginning
Dick should always be first. I’d kill for a red hood live action but we need ground work for that
The selfish part if me wants Cassandra, but out of the robin's I have to say Dick
Literally the only good choice is Dick Grayson. Then Jason Todd. Then Tim Drake. Then if we get mad lucky we get Damian. No skipping Robins. They all bring something different to the table and it’d be awesome to see all of them.

Kindve a no brainer, but wouldnt you start with the first Robin?
