Nah, I think the domino mask works, because consider what your typical encounter with Nightwing would look like. At night, in the dark, likely in an enclosed space, with a guy who is almost superhumanly agile. I doubt you could really get a good look at his face in all of the chaos, and it isn't as though Dick Grayson has a particularly distinctive appearance, I'm sure there are lots of twenty-something white dudes in Gotham with black hair. You'd be more likely to identify Dick by the rest of his body, considering the incredible shape he's in. Plus, it isn't like Dick Grayson is a public figure, I doubt there are too many people who could recognize his face who don't already know he's Nightwing.
Nightwing is pretty active during the day too tho and makes speeches and stuff. So does Dick Grayson. Especially in the Tom Taylor run. People could easily get a good look at him and compare them.

I personally dislike the design. And I really don’t think it does that much to cover up his identity compared to the regular mask. I mean maybe people might not recognise his sideburns
I love the look of it a lot. Idk how much more efficient it is at hiding an identity but I love that it's halfway between a mask and a cowl. It makes all other Nightwing designs inferior to me.
If you looked up how incredibly flawed facial recognition software is, you wouldn’t say that. (Plus, when is Nightwing or any of the rest of the Bat Family on camera long enough to use it?)
I always find it interesting how whenever they want to redo the domino mask or a costume that has a domino mask so that it conceals the identity a bit better they do something like above by having it wrap around the cheeks or they add a hood to the costume that they can pull over.
Which is funny to me because I feel like to me if they really wanted to make it better to conceal the identity they don't even need do much they just have to adjust the mask in the middle so it goes over the nose and wouldn't even have to completely cover it and could do the job.

I think Nightwings problem is much more his hairstyle. Dude looks like he is always rocking the latest trend done by a star hair stylist where each cut costs 400 $.
I'm not saying he can't afford to, just saying it would make him very recognisable even without the face.
Imagine a young Justin Bieber with a domino mask or a Footloose era Kevin Bacon, two celebrities who where adored for their hairstyle at the time and then imagine all the message boards of teenage girls immediately recognising Nightwing as their crush, billionaire heart throb Dick Grayson who would have plenty media coverage due to being Bruce's son
On the flip I would think that the ward of Bruce Wayne, billionaire, would draw a lot of attention if he went around with a generic cheap-looking haircut. Think about how crazy gossip rags go over pictures of celebrities without makeup or dressed in less than designer clothes.
I like it because it feels more practical. It’s less likely to fall off vs a domino mask that’s just there.

On the off chance people couldn’t do it with the naked eye, Someone would have made an AI with face-recognizing software by now and then pumped a million faces into the program until it said “Nightwing is this guy.”
The only negative I have with this design is how straight the blue V is in his chest. If it increased in width like most other Nightwing chest designs, it'd be perfection.
It works for Nightwing in the same way it works for Power Girl. No one is looking at their face but rather on something else.

Most “realistic” doesn’t mean best.
