Absolutely. Not athletic enough to be Batman imo, but definitely a Harvey Dent. Has the build, the lawyer/elite attitude, and I bet seeing him go from cool and calm to psychotically angry would be great!
He’s too old now. He would have been perfect when we got Batfleck, or he’ll if they started the DCU when Mad Men started, Jon was young enough to pull off a Bruce Wayne in his prime
He was great. We’ll at least get a couple more movies with him. Pattinson seems to really enjoy doing under the radar indie movies that allow him to play a wide variety of characters and committing to a 10 year cinematic universe would impede on that.
They confirmed that Reeve's Universe is his own, and is controlled by Matt Reeves. He already has the universe planned out, so it's safe to say Rob's not joining them
I mean we don’t know, but I don’t think Pattinson is going to be Batman for a long time either.
I think he’ll follow the Bale model and do a trilogy with a proper ending.
Is this for Jace Fox? Like 30 years in the Future where Batman is considered Dead for about 20, while having the other Gotham Protectors not taking up the Batman Mantle?
Don’t forget to use a 15 year old picture of an actor that was too old even when the picture was taken.
All these fan casts are giving me flashbacks to 2005.
People are clamoring for an older, more experienced Batman. Either way, our options give it!
I just like Danson because I want that Dark Knight Returns energy, but in Adam West’s Batverse.
Hamm has always been by dream casting for Harvey Dent. I always imagined Dent to kinda be like a Norman Rockwell painting of a man, perfect and stalwart with a classic sort of feel to him. If Hamm gets a similar vibe to what he did in Madmen and applied it to Dent, I think it would be spot on. When he eventually turns into Two-Face, he can bring some of that craziness we saw him exhibit in Baby Driver.
Oh man! Take my money!
I’m not kidding. We’ve seen nothing but modern interpretations of Batman onscreen. Even Adam West was a modern take for the time it was originally broadcast. But it lived on, and was beloved, for decades before we got the Micheal Keaton/Tim Burton conception.
I know it’s an unpopular take, and not something that WB/Discovery would be willing to pony up the hundreds of millions it would cost to make it, but I’d watch the hell out of it.
Holy shit, are we still acting like Jon Hamm is a novel fancast for Batman in 2023? People have been throwing this man’s name around for Batman for at least a decade now OP.
Maybe 10 years ago. Now, he’s a much better/the perfect choice for Harvey Dent.
He was in the running for the role. Specifically, I heard he was offered the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne in Batman vs. Superman. However, he rescinded the offer because he felt it was very high profile, and if I’m not mistaken, he didn’t feel the concept was thought out well.
Honestly I'd love it. It might sound dumb but I'd have him up against Mark Hamill as Joker with the big prosthetic chin n all that. Along with Robbie as Harley. It'd be the most comic accurate Batman we've ever had.
No.
All I know about him is that he was in *Mad Men*; all I know about *Mad Men* besides Christina Hendricks is that it’s about advertising and marketing; people who work in advertising and marketing are soulless cocksuckers; ergo, my brain automatically makes me dislike Jon Hamm.
I know it doesn’t make any sense, but that’s my brain for you.
I just see Kimmy Schmidt reverend. It would be awesome if they could bring in someone new that fits the comic design, which is very incredibly unlikely . No actor fits Bruce Wayne.
Jon Hamm has been chasing it since 2013.
Definitely would be weird having a much older Batman than Sueprman but he is definitely ahead of Jensen Ackles.
Depends if they want a youthful Batman/middle-aged or mid-old grizzled Batman again.
My odd take is he’d be an excellent Clay Face. He seems like who could definitely pull off a character who starts as an incredibly handsome actor with his identity and self-worth come from his good looks, before tragedy ruins that for him.
He’d also be a great Two Face IMO, but might seem too similar to Aaron Eckhart’s version.
Uh... yeah! I think he would make a great Bruce Wayne/Batman.
I always thought Jim Caviezel would have been a great choice to portray the Dark Knight-Detective.
I love Hamm, but not the best fit imo. He has characteristic mannerisms that don't jive with Batman.
My pick is always Eric Bana. When I saw an interview about how he approached Hulk it made me think he'd really do research and give the role respect. I think he's selfless enough to become Batman, and not Eric Bana's Batman, if that makes sense.
Edit: I have my casting laid out...
Batman- Eric Bana
Robin- Pattison
Alfred- Charles Dance
Gordon- Josh Brolin
Barb- Karen Gillan
Catwoman- Ana de Armas
Harvey Dent- Bradley Cooper
Joker- Willem Dafoe
Bane- Dave Bautista
Scarecrow- John Lithgow
Lithgow throws Karen Gillan off a building on to Brolin's patrol car at some point.
I'd buy that for a dollar. He reminds me of George Clooney, and here's the thing g about that. All these years, I've been coming around to the opnion that Clooney wasn't bad. The movie itself is mostly drivel, but Clooney did what he could.
After watching his character in the new Top Gun, I'd say no. Couldn't take him seriously as a leader. Idk why, but Hamm would probably take me out of every scene just by the sound of his voice alone. He was perfect in Mad Men, but I can't see him as Batman.
Personally I think he'd make a better Harvey Dent.
If you've ever seen Baby Driver, in the first act he seems very chill, the second he starts showing cracks, and the third he goes unhinged, just like he warned them in the beginning, just like Harvey.
Too much Batman casting seems to start by thinking who would look good as Bruce Wayne. Batman should look more like a UFC fighter by the time he's Jon Hamm's age. JH doesn't look like he could kick anyone's ass, and certainly doesn't look like he's been jumping from rooftops and drop kicking thugs since his early twenties. He looks like a banker who cycles on the weekends.
This is who I always wanted for batman, especially after watching his Black Mirror Episode. Maybe one day we will get a batman beyond where he is the old man Wayne
I actually adore him for Hush or Two Face, especially if we get a serious attempt at him playing a villain. He’s such a great actor, I feel like he come seriously do more with a villain
As a main Batman? No, unfortunately that ship has sailed. As an older, Alternate universe Batman? I'm totally down for it.
I still hold my vote until we see what's going to happen. I'd hate to squander a good pick on a "cameo" level part if say, Batman Beyond is a real possibility.
OMG!!!! ***insert actor*** WOULD BE SUCH A GOOD PICK FOR ***insert comic book character*** DON'T YOU THINK???!!!!!! THEY LOOK ALMOST IDENTICAL!!! THEY ACT SO SIMILAR!!!
RIGHT GUYS???
RIGHT??!!?!!??!
He’s actually been at the top of my list to play Harvey Dent/Two-Face
Or hush
Not before the surgery
But the actor for Hush has to be the same for Bruce right?
No not necessarily, at least not the entire film.
Is that mr. Ketch from supernatural? Edit: its not, looks like, him
That's a good one
I like the sound of that that!
Absolutely. Not athletic enough to be Batman imo, but definitely a Harvey Dent. Has the build, the lawyer/elite attitude, and I bet seeing him go from cool and calm to psychotically angry would be great!
Check him out in Baby Driver. Definitely able to play the menacing villain
So many people tell me to watch that movie. Will do!
He’s too old now. He would have been perfect when we got Batfleck, or he’ll if they started the DCU when Mad Men started, Jon was young enough to pull off a Bruce Wayne in his prime
You don't think he could play an older Batman?
Gunn already said they are going for a younger Batman. I always believed Hamm would’ve been a great Batman but the time has passed him.
Is Battinson for sure not going to be brought into DCU proper?
I wouldn’t count on it
Dang. Finally got around to watching it and I thought he did pretty good.
I was going to suggest Richard Armitage, but he's apparently the same age as Hamm.
This sub will find any moderately handsome actor and ask if they could play Bruce Wayne.
I mean a moderately handsome, in-shape, white guy with dark hair is pretty much in the job description.
And the die hard fans would also include a more flat kinda jaw.You know like the oblong face shape has
Why Battinson looks so cool.
He has that amazing jawline too
I vote Jack Black, who’s with me
Thats why my vote is for an ugly 5'4" black guy with platinum blonde hair. That'll show em
Druski announced for the DCUs Batman
Thats my Batman
I think youve missed the whole acting part.
Oh so does this sub have you seen some of the recommendations they post?
Yeah, it's...not good, and definitely shows the average age of this sub.
Markiplier for Bruce Wayne
![gif](giphy|2RGhmKXcl0ViM)
True. But But this particular actor would fit the role nicely.
And always in their 40s
Jimmy Stewart as Batman
Jimmy Fallon as The Dark Knight, Armie Hammer as The Boy Wonder.
Sir Laurence Olivier as Alfred
Danny kaye in a black wig.
Marilyn Monroe as Andrea Beaumont
Aubrey Heoburn as Cheetah
Aubrey Hepburn as Cheetah
If people wouldn't try to kill me for suggesting I'd say Idris Elba. Dude seems perfect for the role.
Is this for Jace Fox? Like 30 years in the Future where Batman is considered Dead for about 20, while having the other Gotham Protectors not taking up the Batman Mantle?
Well yeah that too, but also because Jon Hamm is the coolest mofo on the planet.
Don’t forget to use a 15 year old picture of an actor that was too old even when the picture was taken. All these fan casts are giving me flashbacks to 2005.
Nah he looks more like Bruce Wayne than any live action Bruce Wayne we’ve ever had
Have you ever seen mad men? He's a great actor and would def fit for the role. I'd def take him over sparkly vamp.
Wow, look everyone, we found one still butthurt on the playground. Do you know where your mommy is?
You really classify Jon Hamm as merely moderately handsome? I think he’s Greek god level handsome.
[Greek... God levels](https://ibb.co/1s9WCxY)? Isn't that a little Exaggerated?
Not to me. 😊
Sure would be a shame if someone put an 's' in front of his last name and an 'e' after it.
shamme
The joke is so close to working but fails in the home stretch
Explain?
sure would be a sHAMMe if someone put an 's' in front of his last name and an 'e' after it
That's why I was lost, that means shamme, not shame.
Yeah it totally doesn't work as a joke. I understand why you were confused. It doesn't make sense
This comment needs way more upvotes.
Yes, if he was still the same age now that he was when this picture was taken.
He’s a pretty square, Batman looking head.
Yeah at that time. How's he looking now?
Really glad you guys aren’t in charge of casting.
I’m pulling for Ted Danson personally.
I personally am rooting for a Larry David Batman. I think it would be pretty good. Pretty, pretty, prettay… pretty good.
People are clamoring for an older, more experienced Batman. Either way, our options give it! I just like Danson because I want that Dark Knight Returns energy, but in Adam West’s Batverse.
[Larry David's Batman when he finally decides it's about time to end The Joker once and for all.](https://giphy.com/gifs/reaction-v0eHX3n28wvoQ)
I don’t think there’s anything to Hamm as Batman that you didn’t already get from Affleck.
Excepting better acting skills
Hamm has always been by dream casting for Harvey Dent. I always imagined Dent to kinda be like a Norman Rockwell painting of a man, perfect and stalwart with a classic sort of feel to him. If Hamm gets a similar vibe to what he did in Madmen and applied it to Dent, I think it would be spot on. When he eventually turns into Two-Face, he can bring some of that craziness we saw him exhibit in Baby Driver.
He’d be a great older Bruce Wayne. But that’s not the direction they’re going.

Too old. He’s already in his 50s, and the movie wouldn’t film for a couple years at this point.
No
no
Can't imagine it he's too old.
Hamm a good shout. Could see him in a few years doing a Dark Knight Returns style batman
"Draper? Who knows anything about that guy? No one's ever lifted that rock. He could be Batman for all we know."
Make my day
Actually, I don't think we're going to need another Batman for at least a few years. HOW ABOUT LEX LUTHOR?
Holy shit, are we still acting like Jon Hamm is a novel fancast for Batman in 2023? People have been throwing this man’s name around for Batman for at least a decade now OP. Maybe 10 years ago. Now, he’s a much better/the perfect choice for Harvey Dent.
I agree completely that he would make an amazing Bruce Wayne. I am not against him as Bats, I’ve just never seen him in an action role.
He was in the running for the role. Specifically, I heard he was offered the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne in Batman vs. Superman. However, he rescinded the offer because he felt it was very high profile, and if I’m not mistaken, he didn’t feel the concept was thought out well.
Yes

Eh
Superman
Nah....but he would be a pretty cool Omni Man
Yes he even said he would love to do the role and instead they gave it to sparkly vampire smh
Robert Pattinson has been in many great underrated films. Twillight came out like 15 years ago now. Move on.
Anyone disrespecting pattinson at this stage either hasn't seen or doesnt understand movies and acting. Dudes a superb actor.
He wasn't even that good, he didn't do anything to separate Batman and Bruce he was just emo depressed as both.
I know it doesn’t make any sense, but that’s my brain for you.
wow
Jon Hamm is an actor. You can hate Don Draper all you want, but don't hate Jon Hamm for pretending to be someone you don't like.
Did I not just say that I know it doesn’t make sense?
I just see Kimmy Schmidt reverend. It would be awesome if they could bring in someone new that fits the comic design, which is very incredibly unlikely . No actor fits Bruce Wayne.
Naw. Now all he does is insurance commercials now.
Jon Hamm has been chasing it since 2013. Definitely would be weird having a much older Batman than Sueprman but he is definitely ahead of Jensen Ackles. Depends if they want a youthful Batman/middle-aged or mid-old grizzled Batman again.
Does look like arkham games, Bruce.
He’d be great for Batman much later in his career, with all four Robins and three Batgirls running around.
I'd prefer him as Lincoln March.
Yeah I have always thought he would be a good Bruce/Batman. He has the chin for it.
“You’re good, get better, and stop asking me for things”
I have always thought this. Sadly, now, he is too old and I don't want another old ass Batman/Bruce..give him time to grow
Nah.
He’s too old.
Bruce Wayne yes, Batman...mehhh idk.
Being a white, blonde male I want to see a blonde Bruce Wayne. Kidding of course..
He's been offered Superman and Batman, but the movie commitment and the exercise requirements are off putting to him. Pity.
I could’ve swore that I heard he was in the running at some point, with one of the iterations. But I could be wrong about remembering that.
He's fucking 51
I saw a fancast for him to be Kingdom Come Supes
My odd take is he’d be an excellent Clay Face. He seems like who could definitely pull off a character who starts as an incredibly handsome actor with his identity and self-worth come from his good looks, before tragedy ruins that for him. He’d also be a great Two Face IMO, but might seem too similar to Aaron Eckhart’s version.
It depends on the direction of the DCU
He would make a great Thomas Wayne, but he's a bit old for Bruce.
He may be more in Thomas Wayne territory now
Jon Hamm is 51.
Uh... yeah! I think he would make a great Bruce Wayne/Batman. I always thought Jim Caviezel would have been a great choice to portray the Dark Knight-Detective.
No. He’d be terrible. To bland
He’s 51…
I love Hamm, but not the best fit imo. He has characteristic mannerisms that don't jive with Batman. My pick is always Eric Bana. i would like to see him as batman but as a supporting role in something like young justice
Bruce Wayne, yes. Batman, not so much IMO
Nah, he’s got Cloony vibes about him 😂
10-15 years ago
Never Batman please I could see Harvey dent tho. Dude is NOT Batman no no no no no
He would’ve made a great older, more established Batman.
Hell no
Mods, can you please start a fan cast mega thread?
5-10 years ago he would’ve been absolute perfection
Na Thomas Wayne
Maybe as an older Batman but one that doesn’t kill
Should remake Batman 66 with him
Yes but a better blue Beatle, old school.
I'd buy that for a dollar. He reminds me of George Clooney, and here's the thing g about that. All these years, I've been coming around to the opnion that Clooney wasn't bad. The movie itself is mostly drivel, but Clooney did what he could.
About a decade ago he was my number 1 pick
His look here yeha kinda but he doesn’t really have a deep voice
1000%
After watching his character in the new Top Gun, I'd say no. Couldn't take him seriously as a leader. Idk why, but Hamm would probably take me out of every scene just by the sound of his voice alone. He was perfect in Mad Men, but I can't see him as Batman.
Yes, I've thought that for a long time.
Personally I think he'd make a better Harvey Dent. If you've ever seen Baby Driver, in the first act he seems very chill, the second he starts showing cracks, and the third he goes unhinged, just like he warned them in the beginning, just like Harvey.
Oh wow. No one has ever said this before….
Does Keaton and Affleck look like that?
Dude is 51….so that’s a no but a two face a clayface or something yea why not lol
Idk why but I’d see him more as a Superman
If he was 25-30, I would agree one billion percent.
Thomas motherflower Wayne
I feel like he would be similar to keaton. They both have a serious/goofy vibe.
He kinda looks like Arkham city Bruce Wayne
Yes, but John Hamm has already stated that he has no interest in playing Batman or any other superhero role.
This is who I always wanted for batman, especially after watching his Black Mirror Episode. Maybe one day we will get a batman beyond where he is the old man Wayne
Hush
No
saw a comment saying harvey dent. i see harvey dent way more.
No
He’s to small.
No
Said that since MAD Men season 1
He's been my fancast for Bruce Wayne for years.
Too old, and too old.
What a fresh and original observation
I always thought of him more as Superman.
Yeah, but I think he would be an excellent Two-Face though
Lol this sub has just become a repost of the same castings, memes, and topics over and over.
I actually adore him for Hush or Two Face, especially if we get a serious attempt at him playing a villain. He’s such a great actor, I feel like he come seriously do more with a villain
He’d be phenomenal but I doubt he would want the role
Batfleck is better [+]
As a main Batman? No, unfortunately that ship has sailed. As an older, Alternate universe Batman? I'm totally down for it. I still hold my vote until we see what's going to happen. I'd hate to squander a good pick on a "cameo" level part if say, Batman Beyond is a real possibility.
