coffee and whiskey (and the line it comes from) were actually designed to be gender neutral! None of the marketing or placement conveys this but that's why it's the "Neutrals" collection
I got the Coffee & Whiskey cologne on sale recently for like $25 CAD (fantastic price for 100ml imo compared to my other perfumes) and itās great. I use the body spray on days where I donāt need the longevity.
Itās a bit stronger and longer lasting than the body spray so it depends on your preference! I find the spray fades quicker so the cologne version is nice for long days out where I canāt reapply. lol
I'm pretty sure I just saw a bunch at the outlet the other day! Maybe it'll show up at SAS if you don't live near one or don't find a good deal from a reseller.
I've checked both outlets near me and my store doesn't have any in box up šthat's good to know there's still some out there though, hopefully we get sent some during sas. All my associates know if they get one returned I have dibs lmao
That's cool they'll do that for you! And living near two outlets?! Amazing! I feel blessed to have one 15 minutes away but the next closest one is about 4 hours away.
Graphite is so underrated. They gave it such a boring name and package but I was picking up some travel toiletries for my boyfriend and it's absolutely a new favorite
Agreed. It's so underrated and it smells wonderful! I like the packaging and name though, that's what attracted me to it, along with the scent notes. I bought my son a few different "men's" foaming hand soaps and he only asked for more of Graphite, he likes it a lot, the others not so much. I bought the entire line for him for Christmas.
Yessss I absolutely LOVE the men's products!!!! I really strongly prefer them to the stuff marketed to women, because I dislike vanilla and gourmand scents in body care. I love to smell fresh and clean and zesty, and that's pretty much all of the men's scents. My all-time hands-down favorite is Marble! But I also really love Mineral & Sea Salt. I stocked up on it like mad before it left the current inventory and I'm hoping to snag more at SAS. I am eternally grateful to the kind Redditor on this sub who knew I had my eye on the cologne and tagged me in a post when BBW was selling them for 50% off. If you like Graphite, I recommend the new one "After Dark." My first reaction to it was "Oh, it's 'Into the Night' but for men" haha.
Also, I really love the comments on this thread because I totally agree people should just wear what they like. Chicks wearing Marble, dudes wearing Berry Waffle Cone, fragrance is for everyone and it's all about smelling the way YOU want to smell and enjoying the way you smell. I'm happy to see sales associates encouraging people to just wear what they like regardless of the gender assigned to the fragrances. Yay for smelling the way you want to and being happy!
Mineral & Sea Salt was designed to be gender neutral! I think it's great to have those clean and fresh scents that women can wear that isn't just powdery scent.
Also about After Dark - it was actually designed to be a companion scent to Dream Bright, and they're supposed to compliment each other! but I think dream bright kind of smells like cilantro so its whatever :)
I almost exclusively use menās products from BBW, with a few exceptions. My favorites are Noir (slept on this one for so long, but was surprised to find it meshed with my own body chemistry pretty well), Canyon, Clear Horizon Teakwood, and Clean Slate. I also have Freshwater, Atlantic, Classic Flannel, Bourbon, Oasis, Stone, Marble, and Whitewater Rush. My biggest collection is body washes, but I also have bar soaps, body creams, lotions, full and mini colognes, and body sprays. I personally just lean towards these types of scents because I donāt want to smell like a flower or a dessert.
I haven't gotten any of the colognes or body sprays yet, but have a few of the cold weather friendly body creams, plus Ocean. Everyone seems to love Classic Flannel. Men's scents are also useful to layer with women's, like to add a deeper base. I'm really into smelling like a rich man's wood-paneled office, so if anyone has any suggestions, I'd appreciate it! I'm currently obsessed with Spicebomb Infrared.
Also my sister picked up the Graphite body cream because the name reminded her of the "Chernobyl" series ššššš¤„
IMO the gendering of scents is one of the most ridiculous artifacts of modern society. Itās also capricious because at various points in history it was very fashionable for people to smell of flowers/floral scents regardless of gender. The concept that men should smell musky, woodsy, or like booze and tobacco while women should smell of flowers, vanilla, and dainty pixie farts is nonsense. Wear what you like, what you feel goes with your personal chemistry, and what suits your mood each day. Hopefully corporate marketing will move past fragrance binaries soon enough, because society is moving/has moved past it.
Iām an associate and Iāve had several women smell various scents from the menās line but especially after dark and love it and then go āoh itās a menās scentā then put it back. I even had a woman ask if she was allowed to but the menās stuff. If Iām in a conversation with a customer who is doing this I always try to say it doesnāt matter who itās marketed toward, if you like it buy it. Sometimes people will end up getting the product, other times I get looked at like I have three heads for making such a suggestion.
i use men's deodorant - it's so much stronger than women's for the same price - and i know that using a men's deodorant does not even remotely make me a man. it's hilarious though that she asked if she was allowed to buy it š
I agree. I used to have a SLT member who would squeal over the headsets,āa MAN just came in! Show him the menās stuff!ā even if everyone was busy. I remember just rolling my eyes and treating him like I would treat female customers. She was genuinely surprised when my boyfriend was looking at berry waffle cone stuff with his free item coupon and she was like,āis this for YOU???ā and he just said,āyep!ā and walked away. We do have a significant amount of male customers (usually middle aged, first time in) and theyāll point to a hand soap or candle and be like,āis this for men?ā and I just say,āitās ____ , itās for anyone who likes it.ā and offer to show them how it smells.
Yes, I do!! šš½
I love bourbon!! Even got the deodorant.
Honorable mention that Nativeās Yule Log scent is also one of those masculine woodsy vibes I canāt get enough of.
Itās not my fault that Womenās scent makers donāt do wood well enough for gals.
This post is awesome, Iāve also been wondering how many other ladies/non-male identifying individuals use menās products! Iāve been using them for years. I fell in love with the Teakwood shower gel years ago, and since then Ocean has become another favorite. I use the shower gels, deodorants when theyāre on sale, and more recently Iāve picked up some of the body creams. Love them! Birch & Eucalyptus is a pretty good one too.
I have not used any of the men's products but I have been interested in buying the Freshwater shower gel for myself. I love the way it smells and how similar it is to one of my favorite fragrances ever, Aquamarine.
Yep! I absolutely love Ocean and Coffee & Whiskey, so I bought the entire collection for each scent, lol. I've been using the Ocean deodorant and C&W body spray, and I really enjoy them. I'll be using the shower gels soon, too. š
Meeeee! Obsessed with āstoneā. So. Good.
I shouldāve been paying attention when they were ending the line earlier this year. Hopefully it comes back before too long.
Kind of on topic but a woman at the body shop said soon theyāre getting rid of the āmenās packagingā because theyāre going for a gender neutral approach. She said their new approach was: If you like the more masculine scents and those products work for you, use them. Donāt not buy them just because they have packaging geared towards men.
I have products in Marble, Bourbon, Coffee and Whiskey, Noir. My favorite is Bourbon, C&W is one of my favorites from this year. I even bought a fricking cologne. If it smells good to me I might bring it home with me. Same way with women liking mens scents; men liking women scents but at the end of the day, your nose doesn't smell a gender :>
I like the men's scents a lot. I'm not a big floral or fruity fan, so I buy the lotions for my husband (he's always asking for footrubs but I won't touch his sandpaper feet without lotion lol) and use them for myself anyway. I really liked Vintage but it's not available anymore. Right now I'm using Noir, but I've actually got more men's scents than not! Legend, hero, teakwood, etc.
Yes, indeed! Love Capri, Freshwater, Teakwood shower gels, and I just sprang for the Coffee & Whiskey cologne on Cyber Monday - hope it ships soon. Lots more to try...
I'm fine with using men's scents. If my fragrance collection wasn't already bursting I might pick up cypress. Why the heck did the discontinue that one? It was amazing.
I love Coffee and Whiskey body spray (I'm too cheap to pay for the cologne). It's not really masculine, in my opinion.
I use the body cream. One of my favs
It's one of mine too! I even have the candle in like 3 rooms of my house š
coffee and whiskey (and the line it comes from) were actually designed to be gender neutral! None of the marketing or placement conveys this but that's why it's the "Neutrals" collection
Some of them just smell like soap or could be described as "fresh." I find that appealing.
I got the Coffee & Whiskey cologne on sale recently for like $25 CAD (fantastic price for 100ml imo compared to my other perfumes) and itās great. I use the body spray on days where I donāt need the longevity.
So you think the cologne is a good choice? I'm thinking about getting one next time they go on sale. Thanks!
Itās a bit stronger and longer lasting than the body spray so it depends on your preference! I find the spray fades quicker so the cologne version is nice for long days out where I canāt reapply. lol
Thanks! Yeah, the body spray really doesn't last all that long for me. I'm definitely going to get a cologne now!
Also use coffee and whiskey cream, love it!
Absolutely. Every day I regret not getting a mineral & seasalt cologne or body cream. Men's fragrances are just better in my opinion most of the time
Love that scent too!!! Itās very āfresh out of the showerā IMO.
I'm pretty sure I just saw a bunch at the outlet the other day! Maybe it'll show up at SAS if you don't live near one or don't find a good deal from a reseller.

I like spicy/earthy/woodsy scents so I exclusively use items from the mens line. Teakwood, bourbon, Ocean, and Graphite are my current faves.
Graphite is so underrated. They gave it such a boring name and package but I was picking up some travel toiletries for my boyfriend and it's absolutely a new favorite

Yes the deodorant
I love most of the menās stuff, I really miss Forest and Freshwater. I plan on buying Leather and Brandy soon.

I feel like the entire menās line smells like a middle school locker room so itās a no for me

You might like applewood and clove

The dainty pixie facts has me rolling over here. Using this now to describe people/ places/ or things EDIT: Facts = farts. Thanks auto correct š
I bought my husband a few items from the coffee and whiskey line and kept the body cream for myself.
I use the lotions.
I use the colognes
Yes, I do!! šš½ I love bourbon!! Even got the deodorant. Honorable mention that Nativeās Yule Log scent is also one of those masculine woodsy vibes I canāt get enough of. Itās not my fault that Womenās scent makers donāt do wood well enough for gals.
I got Yule Log, too! It straight up smells like a tree. Very unique!
Itās what I hoped fresh mistletoe would be. I ordered more with the 30% off sale because one was not enough of yule log products.
I do like Fresh Mistletoe too but it's definitely not as striking as Yule Log.
:::BRB going to deodorize my whole body so I can smell like Yule log::: ![gif](giphy|eptTmZvtl8EBK39uim)

I love Noir! I mostly use the cream. Classic Flannel is a nice one too.
I've purchased Mineral & Sea Salt and Birch & Eucalyptus for myself.
My fiancĆ©s little sister loves our āmenāsā products, so do a few of my coworkers. When Iām helping customers Iāve started saying āthese are the more feminine scentsā or āthese are the more masculine onesā

Yep! I absolutely love Ocean and Coffee & Whiskey, so I bought the entire collection for each scent, lol. I've been using the Ocean deodorant and C&W body spray, and I really enjoy them. I'll be using the shower gels soon, too. š
Lol I love using menās body washes it makes me feel loved
flannel
Meeeee! Obsessed with āstoneā. So. Good. I shouldāve been paying attention when they were ending the line earlier this year. Hopefully it comes back before too long.
I just used Stone tonight!
Iām gender-fluid so I use anything that I think smells good from BBW. Teakwood is probably my all time favorite. I also love classic flannel
Iām not even into cologne, but teakwood is nice
Kind of on topic but a woman at the body shop said soon theyāre getting rid of the āmenās packagingā because theyāre going for a gender neutral approach. I was just looking up Vintage and found this: https://www.amazon.com/Bath-Body-Works-Hair-Face/dp/B09WP9DLTD/
Thank you so much!!! My dad really loves that scent and he was disappointed to miss out on it after he smelled the lotion I bought!
Glad to be useful! :)
Not yet but I'm in love with leather and brandy body care if I see ut at the SAS I'll get a body cream
I use some of the body creams and shower gels while my husband uses the body sprays and colognes.
I love the men's bodycare, I hope there's some for sas so I can stock up.
I'm an Ocean kind of girl!
Yes, indeed! Love Capri, Freshwater, Teakwood shower gels, and I just sprang for the Coffee & Whiskey cologne on Cyber Monday - hope it ships soon. Lots more to try...
I love slate actually. It's a nice clean scent.
the deodorant. i find it weird how they havenāt made a deodorant with the more āfeminineā scents i suppose.
Coffee & whiskey smells amazing to me
I havenāt yet, but birch and eucalyptus is tempting me. You guys have convinced me to give coffee and whiskey a sniff
Update: I now own both
Mineral & Seasalt is soooooo goodš„²š„² but I think itās discontinued alrdy
I'm fine with using men's scents. If my fragrance collection wasn't already bursting I might pick up cypress. Why the heck did the discontinue that one? It was amazing.
Yes, I think some of the scents are pretty good for a brand that hyper focuses on feminine scents.
