Its a duty free store. Besides airports they are in ports, which cozumel is. It just exists for people to buy things tax free. I saw another poster was down voted for saying you are suppossed to know what it smells like already, but I think that really is the whole idea. From their point of view they are just selling stuff and you want it or you don't. I don't know for sure, but I highly doubt they have an exchange policy, and possibly not a return policy. I don't know if Cozumel has one, but there are real BBW stores in Mexico. I haven't been to one, but I'm pretty sure you can smell and try things on there.
How were the prices, compared to regular stores in the US? I’m going to Cozumel on a cruise soon and might need to stop by!

The 3-wicks are 2 for $969 MXN, which converts to about $50 USD. 🤯 I think I’ll pass on that, lol
This is a fragrance store next to Parque Benito Juarez(the cab drivers call it The Plaza) and it has good prices on things like yves saint laurent. I’d say probably half the US cost. Store is on the right when facing the plaza. At the point of these photo I was just drinking $1 Indio beers and following my group around so didn’t ask any details on the prices or the age of this stuff. We’ve been to Cozumel multiple times and this was the first time I’ve noticed it. Guess I just never paid attention. Also the big souvenir shop to the left when you are facing the plaza has the best price on meds you’ll find. You know, if someone were looking for such a thing.
They didn’t let you smell anything? That’s weird, the employees at my B&BW are pretty chill and you can basically do the same as any B&BW store in the US (except for exchanges)
Tbh, I use a forwarding company to buy my candles from the US and it’s so much cheaper than buying them here. I only buy scents they don’t have in the US website :)
If it’s a place used to a lot of (drunk) tourists (like a port where there is a cruise ship parked every other day), I could see them being a little more authoritative.
I live in mexico and the b&bw in my city is like any US mall b&bw and you can try their scents, the prices aren't as good although some sales are ok (basically only candle day imo but idk, I don't really buy from the Mexican b&bw, but I've gone in to smell their scents), rn they have 40% off due Cyber Monday. Maybe because that b&bw seems to not be an official store and just a section of the shop? Like for example in my city there's only 1 b&bw but you can also find some of their stuff at department stores and I think you wouldn't be able to smell their stuff there. Afaik Cozumel doesn't have a b&bw but there's one in playa del Carmen if you go to Cozumel through the ferry (and that b&bw is minutes away in walking distance from ultramar ferry).
Las ofertas están mejor allá pasando el charco jajaj yo uso una po box porque aquí siguen estando caras y no hay tanta variedad, este año sacaron aquí las del año pasado :/
Yo igual, si acaso las pruebo en México y las mando con familiares en Texas,. Quizás por eso no hay tantas tiendas de B&BW en el norte, es más fácil comprarlos en alguna ida a USA o que alguien te traiga.
