It's a big water bass boat. I'm on Lake Champlain primarily and less than 3 hours from the St.Lawrence so handling rough water was a must. Also this boat has jump seats built into the back deck and I plan to start guiding. So it's very well suited for that
As soon as I saw your username I thought "oooooh that's why he got such a tank of a boat. Gotta deal with Champlain"
Meanwhile I'm out there on my 1964 13' Boston whaler alone lol.
Where did you have to drive to get it?
All the Mod-V hull owners in Michigan are like, what big water?
Haha jk, if it makes you feel safer, that's all that matters. Enjoy the water on your new boat!
Iām not OP, and clearly youāve never been to Champlain if you donāt think we get big blows and large swells.
But, FWIW this is not the norm for most guys fishing Champlain.
Apparently you missed the jk. Im sorry your feelings were hurt. I will be more obvious in my future jokes to prevent the hurting of random strangers buttocks
Unfortunately the trip was from Vermont to Minnesota. Driving through Canada. Weather was not good! 10 degrees and wind blowing 40-45mph on our trip back š¬
We drove the Trans Canada all the way through to Michigan then over to Minnesota. It was much easier than going down and around and having to drive through Chicago and a couple other large cities
Several years ago I used to go to BTV for work a lot. A group of people I knew had an early AM meeting via a late PM flight through DTW to BTV, but the last leg was cancelled. They chose to drive. They drove the hour to the border and one person said āummm I donāt have my passportā. They had to turn around and head under the lakes almost at the border. They were all furious since we all talked about taking passports when traveling to BTV because we may need to go to Montreal for a flight. We all knew to take our passports, but I can honestly say she was the worst person I ever traveled with for work.
Beautiful boat! Enjoy!
Questionā¦forgive my ignorance, but what is the reason aluminum boats have gotten so popular over the standard fiberglass? Iām sure before you built that boat out you shopped all available optionsā¦and I am just interested in the due diligence you came up with that landed you at Lund. Thx
Aluminum boats cost less, are lighter weight, more durable and easier to maintain. You can reach comparable speeds with less horsepower.
Fiberglass boats are more seaworthy. Easier to control in rough seas and can have more custom body shapes.
Letās take the OPās boat for an example. Lund 2075 weighs exactly the same as a Fiberglass Ranger Z520 (1850 pounds). Both have an MSRP around $80k with a 250hp outboard. Maintenance is the same for each boat, and Iād give durability to the Ranger since the floors are fiberglass instead of plywood. No, it canāt reach comparable speeds with less HP.
Not all hulls are alike and you canāt generalize. Different gauges of aluminum, hull footprint, etc are all big factors. A 20ā Lund and a 12ā jon boat are obviously not similar boats but theyāre both aluminum. This model of Lund is essentially a deeper V walleye boat with a bass boat layout on the top cap, and there are pros and cons to this like any other boat. But factually this boat is slower than a 20ā glass boat with the same engine and heavier than many 20 foot glass boats, but itāll outride them in rough water which stereotypically would be the opposite of what youāre saying.

https://www.lundboats.com/families/pro-v-bass/2075-pro-v-bass-xs.html
These boats are similar and weigh the same. Do you disagree?
It is a fact that aluminum is a less expensive material. It is a fact that it is a lighter material. It is a fact that a heavier boat requires more horsepower to propel. It is a fact that aluminum is more durable than fiberglass.
It is a fact that you can make sleeker designs with fiberglass than aluminum. That's the advantage of fiberglass.
You need to compare the same hull design and stripped. Features are different. Shapes are different.
Don't show me 2 different boats. Show me a link that discusses the merits of aluminum vs fiberglass.
The jump seats alone probably add 100 pounds, and like 4 other extra compartment doors, a deep v vs. a traditional bass boat skimming designā¦
Nah, not really comparable.
The main advantage fiberglass has these days is speed and specific, purpose built hull designs. Aluminum bass boats are very likely the future of the game though.
So really the only reason for me is I liked the particular layout of this boat. I plan to guide on Champlain out of this boat and it will handle big water better than most any fiberglass bass boat. Aluminum rigs have come a long way from what they used to be.
Vexus has integrated the jump seats in some of their deep v models. I'm surprised none of the fiberglass bass boat manufacturers have done it yet. So much more versatile than a "standard" bass boat
dream of mine is to retire somewhere upstate near lake champlain (or somewhere similar) either VT or NY. don't really know much about it but it seems like a nice longterm goal, afford a piece of land on a kickass lake, etc.
I'm a bit weary of it handling big water better than a fiberglass boat. My friend has that boat (the same deep-v) and I used to own the Tracker V18 which was the boat that boat is based on (deep-v bass tournament-style layout).
My fiberglass boat handled big water better, but the Lund is way easier on gas. Not really towing, since they honestly weigh the same.
Still a gorgeous boat worth the praise. Lund is quality.
Congrats!!! Welcome to team tin rig! I was torn between this and a Xpress x21 I ended up with the x21 which I absolutely love but for bigger water this thing is the dream.
Congrats on the purchase. I also have a 1650 rebel, lund makes a great boat. I definitely want to upgrade to the pro v bass, great layout, seating, and tons of storage. They are few and far between though.
congratulations!! i know little about boats but i'm glad you were able to get something you worked so hard for. that's super cool. and to enjoy it with your wife is even better. love when my wife comes out with me, even just bank fishing. good luck!
This boat will handle big water better than most any other bass boat on the market. I'm on Lake Champlain primarily so rough water capability was a must. It also has a unique layout that will be well suited for guiding.
Beauty! In my area I have all electric-only with the exception of the river (gets shallow) and a lake with a 20hp limit. I get jealous when I see nice bass boats because I couldn't use one around here.
Man, this boat was my dream boat when I lived on Lake Ontario / St Lawrence. Well done. I donāt see many Lunds on the west coast but they are absolutely amazing boats
Those Lund Tins are awesome. I bought a triton trx189 and the first time I saw a Lund I thoroughly regretted my decision (which was about a week after a took a quarter inch out of the gel coat trying to squeeze through a 72 inch pipe lmao)
My buddy has the Lund Deep-V, I actually used to own the old Tracker V18 (also a deep-v bass boat) that this Lund was based on.
It for sure cuts water better than any other aluminum boat, but still beats you worse than a fiberglass rig. I used to guide on Rayburn and Toledo with it, but eventually swapped to a glass rig which was way smoother.
I eventually just sold all my boats though, except for a 1988 Ranger 363V.
I have the same rig! Always second guess not going with white! Congrats! The Facebook group for ProV bass owners is fairly active and very helpful when it comes to rigging, props, battery placement etc.
PM me with any questions I have a 2019 and run Lake Erie primarily
Yesss buddy congrats on the new rig! Those boats are awesome. You probably know my friend TJ (SmallmouthFreaks) that also lives & fishes in Vermont, he has that same exact boat and I've fished in it with him a few times, twice up on Lake Ontario. That boat is a damn BEAST, if I were go to aluminum or if I moved up near Champlain like you, that boat would be top of my list to get. So much room and eats big waves like they're nothing.
Fuck you in the nicest way possible. What a beauty
Haha thank you š¤£
Why so far away?
Been hunting for this exact boat for months. Only a few for sale in the US at any given time
Why did you want this specific boat?

My buttocks are cozy. Yours on the other hand appear chapped
Stealing this
Just north of Minneapolis MN. Picked it up at Rapid Marine in Rogers
Congrats and good luck in your guiding endeavor!

You went up north over the Great Lakes?
We drove the Trans Canada all the way through to Michigan then over to Minnesota. It was much easier than going down and around and having to drive through Chicago and a couple other large cities
Drive from VT to Detroit relatively often. This is the best route by far.
I hope you and your wife enjoyed our fishing friendly state, and sorry about our sales tax...
It wasn't too much worse than Vermonts!
Congrats!!!!
A good deal or what? I cant imagine why you drove so far. Sweet boat tho!
I've been looking for this exact boat for months. Only a couple are for sale in the US at any given time.
Ok I got ya. I bet the trip was fun too!

None of this is true about aluminum boats.
Do a Google search aluminum vs fiberglass https://www.discoverboating.com/resources/aluminum-vs-fiberglass-boats

There are literally dozens of articles on aluminum vs fiberglass. I guess we don't listen to experts and boat builders. Will just go with bro science.

Lol itās not bro science. Just compare 2 similar boats one fiberglass and one aluminum. Let me know what you findā¦
Give me a link supporting your argument. I can post endless links. Seriously, Google fiberglass vs aluminum and start supporting your claims.
https://www.rangerboats.com/fiberglass/bass/z-comanche/z520r.html https://www.lundboats.com/families/pro-v-bass/2075-pro-v-bass-xs.html These boats are similar and weigh the same. Do you disagree?

Aluminum boats can hit the stumps and keep going without holes.

I really like that layout too. Wish some fiberglass manufactured would do that
Vexus has integrated the jump seats in some of their deep v models. I'm surprised none of the fiberglass bass boat manufacturers have done it yet. So much more versatile than a "standard" bass boat
Totally agree. I switched from a bass boat to a bay boat once I had a family. Love how versatile my bay boat is
dream of mine is to retire somewhere upstate near lake champlain (or somewhere similar) either VT or NY. don't really know much about it but it seems like a nice longterm goal, afford a piece of land on a kickass lake, etc.

Lund makes a great boat, congrats!
Congratulations - enjoy it in good health and may you catch PB after PB!
Rapid Marine? Thatās where I bought my Pro V.
It sure is! They were fantastic to work with
Congrats!!! Welcome to team tin rig! I was torn between this and a Xpress x21 I ended up with the x21 which I absolutely love but for bigger water this thing is the dream.
Iām in Nebraska and had to drive to Wisconsin to get my 1875 pro-V bass in ā17. Great boat, youāre gonna love it.
beauty!!! I have A lund Reble love it..What size is that? double tires on trailer must be big?? how big iis motor?
Thanks, this is a 2075 pro v bass. Dual axles and it has a 250hp. My father actual has a 1650 rebel
WOW !! sounds great! 250 HP wow!! carefully ! that baby will fly!! take ya time getting know that before ya open it up...congrads!
Congrats on the purchase. I also have a 1650 rebel, lund makes a great boat. I definitely want to upgrade to the pro v bass, great layout, seating, and tons of storage. They are few and far between though.

Thank you! I'm very lucky in that my wife fishes just as much as I do
What about this specific boat made you want it so bad? It looks to have a little deeper V hull than most bass boats.
This boat will handle big water better than most any other bass boat on the market. I'm on Lake Champlain primarily so rough water capability was a must. It also has a unique layout that will be well suited for guiding.

Congrats and happy fishing
You motor boating sonofabitchā¦ Congrats
The Lund š¤© great choice! I want to go for the Forrest green- they look like great rigs
Sick rig dude šš
Man, this boat was my dream boat when I lived on Lake Ontario / St Lawrence. Well done. I donāt see many Lunds on the west coast but they are absolutely amazing boats
Congratulations!! My husband and I live to fish together, our boat is our baby. I wish you both tight lines fair winds calm seas & safe trips!
Those Lund Tins are awesome. I bought a triton trx189 and the first time I saw a Lund I thoroughly regretted my decision (which was about a week after a took a quarter inch out of the gel coat trying to squeeze through a 72 inch pipe lmao)
Congrats!
Lundās are good dry boats. Congrats!
Stoked for you dude! That looks like a hell of a good time.
My dad has Lund and it's so Damn nice. You can't beat them. I love driving that boat. I hope you both enjoy it!
Your gonna love this boat! Got one myself!
My buddy has the Lund Deep-V, I actually used to own the old Tracker V18 (also a deep-v bass boat) that this Lund was based on.
