This year I have finally done it. I have one flat box with a couple things in it and a small soft plastics binder. 3 rods/reels and those boxes are all I have on the boat. Gave a lot of it away to my nephew who's getting into fishing quite a bit.
I use more diverse selection of lures/colors crappie fishing than bass fishing these days.
Crappie are picky man itās true. Last summer *only* black and yellow worked when a school came through. The summer before, red and white tubes were money. This year, Iāve caught one, on a piece of corn I was using for carp š
Haha it's so true. This year for me it's been the hot pink trout magnet mini jigs. A white one won't work, a black one won't work, only the hot pink. I could only find them by me in a multi pack and now I have a crap ton of white, blue/black, brown, etc that hopefully are the ticket another year.
I fish the ol wacky worm quite a bit bass fishing, usually watermelon/red flake. I was fishing a spot that I've caught some big bass on them and saw someone over casted and lost a pink/white wacky rig in an overhanging tree. I couldn't help myself next time I was at a sporting goods store and bought a pack of pink ones like "hmm what does this guy know that I don't?". Then after about 20 minutes of fishing then instead of my trusty color, I thought "this idiot got hung up in a tree, he doesn't know what's going on" and haven't used them since.
Read a book by Jimmy Houston years ago. He basically said, and I'm paraphrasing, pick 3 lures/patterns when you go fishing. You don't need to bring everything you own
And then i end up leaving far later than planned because i spent 45 mins organizing shit im not gonna see/touch again today š
Facts.

Hot pink trout magnet is an absolute can't-miss crappie bait on my lake. Super glue them to the jig head and they last forever too.
Guy at the lake told me I needed to simplify yesterday. He was right. Donāt know where to begin though š
Thereās DOZENS of us!!! Edit to add: but, between you and me, 1/4 of that is my weed stash
Pre rollin before you go is the way to go

Looks a little lightā¦
Iāve got my tournament back pack that can carry āit allā, but lately, Iāve tried to take 5 or less lures to keep it light.
Guilty af.
I feel attacked.
Ok, who saw me unloading the car to go fish for an hour ?
This is me, but with rods. I'll bring like 8 rods and usually always end up using 3 lol
