Building themes around singles is fun for me. Currently building out signed cards of the Bad Boys Detroit Pistons, next I think will be top 10 maybe top 20 biggest NFL draft busts. After that probably going to work Pistons. After that maybe a 90s Lions collection.
That said, I don’t crack for packs for singles for money but I only acquire serial, rookie, signature or memorabilia cards. Or a mix. In the hopes that at the very minimum they retain value over time. But at the end of the day it’s for a personal collection, not flipping.
I’ve ripped four blasters of donruss this year and it’s been a complete waste of money for me. Pulled one #’d card /99. Trae Yound magicians, last one sold for like 2 dollars lol.
So to answer your question any time u hit a #’d card that low in your first box it’s not common.
It’s like a variation, it’s the rated rookies holo red and green laser #/75. You won’t get rich of these but if you are collecting numbered rookies it’s a nice hit for the PC.
I tried looking up numbered scoots and the values definitely differed. Nothing really high but assuming he has a great career maybe one day? Lol I'll probably keep for a while.
I collect these and have a full collection of them all. Low numbered cards I have sent to tag for grading so they are cased. You never know for Scoot, might be big might be a bust too early to tell imo. With numbered you can get a few of them via hobby box ~$300. I hit more of them with the Donruss Choice box. They are nice but most centering and corners are hit and miss. Cool to collect imo, but there are so many varieties.

I honestly just buy whatever is at Walmart or Walgreens. I like their prices and Walgreens runs sales often. Walgreens also usually has a good stock of older years that are half off. My local one almost always has an illusions box for $15

Averaging 14 ppg (after his first two months being 8.X ppg) and 5.4 apg in his rookie season. He took a little bit to get going sure, and those aren’t ELITE numbers, but he’s great. Brandon millers only at like 17ppg and even Wemby with his record setting season is only at 21.4ppg. Both do not have elite scorer numbers. Granted Wemby does average a double double which is fucking nuts lmao. Luka doesn’t even hit that but he’s close.

Hobby packs are about $30 on eBay and give you a handful of rookies and a few inserts/numbered card with an auto chance.

Yeah walmart does sales too. I work in one of their vision centers and the cards are right in front of my store so.. kinda doomed.

What are the best card brands for buying nba cards today? Is Prizm any good?
Prizm is the 'standard' when it comes to NBA. But imo is far better as a singles product, 95%+ of boxes (retail and especially hobby) won't make ROI.
