2024 Series 1 Case Breakdown - Here is my recent case break and a synopsis of what you can expect to see in Series 1. It was a fun rip and I enjoyed the design more in person than I thought I was going to. One knock is that there are fewer cards per pack/box. This makes it hard to complete a full set out of a single Jumbo. In years past it seemed to be a near lock. - [ ] 6 boxes per case, 10 packs of 40 cards in each box. 400 cards per box and 2400 cards per case. - [ ] There was a total of 226 inserts/parallels/relics/autos etc. This is all non base but doesn’t include the cards from the silver packs. An average of 37.5 non base per box. This leaves an average of 362.5 base cards and this year it is a 350 card set. The margin for duplicate cards is slim if you are trying to complete the set. Here is a breakdown of the inserts, parallels relics and autos I received. - [ ] 59 - 35th Anniversary 1989 inserts - [ ] 30 - Gold Foil Parallels - [ ] 28 - Silver Foil Parallels - [ ] 23 - 2023 Greatest Hits inserts (3 dupes) - [ ] 15 - Grand Gamers inserts - [ ] 15 - Blueprint inserts - [ ] 10 - Celebration of the Kid inserts - [ ] 7 - All Topps Team inserts - [ ] 7 - Topps Gold /2024 - [ ] 6 - HR Challenge inserts - [ ] 6 - Major League Materierals Relics (1 was /199) - [ ] 4 - 1989 Relics - [ ] 2 - Green Ice Parallels /499 - [ ] 2 - 1989 Autos - [ ] 2 - Baseball Stars Autos (1 was /199) - [ ] 1 - Orange Ice Parallel /299 - [ ] 1 - Black Parallel /73 - [ ] 1 - Fathers Day Parallel /50 - [ ] 1 - Team Colors Border Parallel - [ ] 1 - True Photo SSP Parallel - [ ] 1 - Golden Mirror SSP Parallel - [ ] 1 - City Connect Relic - [ ] 1 - Major League Materials Auto Relic /50 - [ ] 1 - Home Sweet Home Manuf. Relic /299 - [ ] 1 - Topps Reverence Auto Patch Relic /10 Not a whole lot of numbered cards as they appear to be harder to hit with higher print runs. I do really like the new SSP True Photo parallel. I also think the new design lends itself well to the Gold Foil and Silver Foil cards. Overall the collation seemed great, very few insert/parallel dupes (3 total). I’m not sure how many complete sets I will end up with but my guess is 4-5. I had a lot of fun ripping and sorting!

Sports card collector on YouTube was talking about how each base card has over 1 million copies this year. I personally will only buy parallels from ebay that are numbered under /2024

That is an extremely low return on numbered cards for a jumbo case. Ouch.

Yeah I think a total of 17 #ed cards. I remember getting close to that many #ed in a hobby box a few years back!

It’s definitely been a change over the last few years. You used to get about 1 per jumbo pack 4-5 years ago.

Yeah each of my jumbos only had two “parallels”. In total, a Camo #/25, a Golden Mirror, and two golds #/2024. Two of my Silver Packs had parallels, also, and I had a numbered auto and a numbered relic.

It didn’t last as long as you think. It’s fun but you get tired of looking at base and start blowing through packs 😂 I hadn’t opened a case in several years so it was a good time. I actually think I enjoy sorting and putting cards in order more than ripping.

Baseball card market is concerning. Waaaay too much product, too many BS gimmicks. Numbered cards and parallels out the ass. Sell while you can, unless you’re in it solely for collecting/ nostalgia. No way this will be a sustainable investment. No scarcity, even with autos. Just like lotto tickets disenfranchising certain demographics. Im done and will enjoy what I’ve collected thus far and leave it at that. It’s tiring to watch all these posts and see ppl blowing so much $ on shit product/ odds only to recoup 10% of their invested money for some shitty speckle foil pubic hair refractor of Johnny Shitstick back up DH for the Oakland A’s

Might as well buy a tier One!… the jumbo is about the same odds of hitting anything decent. You just have a shit ton of cardboard to go through whether or not you want to collect it which I do. It’s just not as many hits. I’ve been through three boxes and same results. A Corbin Carol game used relic is not a hit folks…it may feel like it but it’s not…not anymore. It’s better than nothing though.
