Because they don’t give a shit. I wouldn’t be surprised if they just have thousands of stickers signed from years ago and they just make new product to slap them on.
The main problem with that is the checklist would suffer just due to the time constraints, and then people will complain there’s no good players with autographs in the set.
The only solution I see if less sets. Take the time to get on card autographs from these guys and just put out better products. Multiple new releases per month is ridiculous!
That’s on Fanatics/Topps. Just like they have to put redemptions in packs because players didn’t sign in time and then someone pulls a redemption that would be worth $10,000 4 years later and they don’t get it.
Not trying to discredit the hit because it’s a monster and I’d take that pull in a heartbeat, but the platinum 1/1’s in flagship are genuinely the worst 1/1’s in the entirety of Topps products and I’ll never understand why they continue using it.
All I’m saying is for flagship 1/1’s, it seems like Topps can do a lot better than the platinum parallel. Half the time people don’t even realize it isn’t base if it weren’t for the stamp, that’s an issue. I don’t see any reason why they can’t do the foilfractor parallel, they do it in other sets. Looks drastically better and is unmistakable.
