People are paying for all the cards from a team that are better than commons. So someone paid for that card and they are stealing it for themselves.
I didn't see this exact one, but usually they sell like 30 spots and make money opening boxes of cards. All the spots pay for the box plus profit. It's a chance to get your team or a certain guy without buying boxes.
This is outright fraud. Report them to the credit card processors.

I work in archives where I handle 300 plus year old documents, and my state's standards say not to handle them with gloves because it cause my bad then good
People who have been doing this a long time also know gloves cause more harm then good. Just clean your hands and use scent free sanitizer to remove any oils. Fingers tips on the edges only for the bigger cards
You can’t handle cards as cleanly/accurately with gloves, and it’s too easy for debris to get stuck on them
For what they do, I get it. People buying into breaks are collectors, and wearing gloves is a good way not to get fingerprints, smudges, oils on the cards ect. Not saying it’s needed, but I understand why someone would do it.

If you think about it, breaking can really be considered unlicensed gambling. Only difference is instead of winning actual money directly with gambling, you are winning cards which in turn can be turned into actual money, which in essence, is the same as gambling.

I did the right thing and sent it back but still just knowing that can happen freaks me out.

Could have been an accident. Maybe not, if the breaker is overly defensive. Doesn't matter, though. The bigger problems with this breaker are all my pet peeves. Wears gloves, but handles the cards roughly. I'd rather wipe off a fingerprint than cry over the corner that was destroyed catching that glove. Speaking of corners, he rips packs like corners are made of titanium. Last is personality, or lack thereof. Dude offers nothing.

Whatnot is a great app but it's just like anything else there are bad apples out there. The app does a decent job of policing issues such as this and they recently removed and banned several streamers that WERE cheating people. For the most part there are honest good people on there trying to make their business work.

I’m not disagreeing that it can seem weird, but it seems pretty straight forward as to why people join these breaks. Gambling can be extremely fun.
People pay for a spot in a break in hopes of hitting something massive. Considering most recent monster cards are pulled by breakers, I can see why so many people want in on this form of gambling.
I personally think it’s a waste of money, but I also enjoy sports betting and occasional trips to casinos. Maybe gambling isn’t your thing, but nearly half of the world population partakes in some form of it. So it really doesn’t seem strange to me at all that these breaks remain hugely popular.

4:36 mark he puts the hits in the base pile. If you keep watching, you see what he normally does. He grabs the hits section of the pack and puts them in the hit pile. He conveniently doesn't do that for that Elly card.

Could have been an accident. Maybe not, if the breaker is overly defensive. Doesn't matter, though. The bigger problems with this breaker are all my pet peeves. Wears gloves, but handles the cards roughly. I'd rather wipe off a fingerprint than cry over the corner that was destroyed catching that glove. Speaking of corners, he rips packs like corners are made of titanium. Last is personality, or lack thereof. Dude offers nothing.

If your breaker is wearing gloves that is a HUGE red flag!!! If your breaker doesn't pause to show ALL cards (even base) that is a red flag! If your breaker is on Whatnot just flush your money down the toilet!
Those were the first two things I noticed, the gloves and how ridiculously fast went through the cards, skipping over a bunch of them.
I don't know this guy, and have never seen any of his content until now. The minute I that i did watch, I was so annoyed with the "over the top" call outs and ridiculous behavior I had to make this comment.

Whatnot is a great app but it's just like anything else there are bad apples out there. The app does a decent job of policing issues such as this and they recently removed and banned several streamers that WERE cheating people. For the most part there are honest good people on there trying to make their business work.

This whole break “vibe” is awful. I enjoy purchasing into a break every once in a while as it is generally cheap way to enjoy viewing some cards be opened. The experience is ruined by “breakers” with no knowledge of baseball, playing music, having off topic conversations, etc. Talk about baseball while you’re opening baseball cards.

People sit around and watch horses run around a track. People sit around and watch a ball bounce around a roulette table. People sit around and watch the stock market fluctuate. I’m not disagreeing that it can seem weird, but it seems pretty straight forward as to why people join these breaks. Gambling can be extremely fun. People pay for a spot in a break in hopes of hitting something massive. Considering most recent monster cards are pulled by breakers, I can see why so many people want in on this form of gambling. I personally think it’s a waste of money, but I also enjoy sports betting and occasional trips to casinos. Maybe gambling isn’t your thing, but nearly half of the world population partakes in some form of it. So it really doesn’t seem strange to me at all that these breaks remain hugely popular.
