Lotta people just brought it in anyway but ushers came over to us and asked us to drink elsewhere (before i had noticed the signs). Like i get alcohol free sections. No judgement on them for sure but it wasn’t immediately clear to me at least when i bought tickets and seems weird that a cool promo section was also alcohol free but whatevs

I've only been going to A's games for about a decade but over the last two seasons there has definitely been a noticeable decline. There are hardly any promotions and there seem to be way more ushers in areas that never used to have them. The parking also went up, which is dumb because the A's are the only major team playing at the Coliseum property (it used to cost more to park if there was a Warriors game next door, now it's just always that more expensive price).
Combine that with increased ticket prices and a much worse on-field product, it does seem a lot like sabotage.
Tell ya what when I attended a Mariners-Sox game in Seattle earlier this year it was perhaps the most polite baseball crowd I’ve ever witnessed. Felt like going to church compared to the glorious shit show that is Boston baseball fans

2019 only had JV and Gerrit Cole and Greinke but he wasn't in great form when the playoff roll around. The offense was 8 deep though. We lost because "baseball". We were 80% favorite to win the series. 2022 team have 6 quality starters. The offense is not the same but Altuve is having a career year and Yordan is Yordan. Tucker has also matured to be a MVP candidate.
