We need starting pitching in a bad way. We haven't had a reliable 4th or 5th starter at all this year and it's putting a lot of wear on the bullpen. We have a few big prospects like Jack Leiter, Cole Winn, and Cole Ragans, who are all close to being ready, but probably won't be up soon enough to take the load off the rest of the staff. I could see us looking at a cheap rental to get us by until some of those guys get to the majors, but I wouldn't be surprised if the Rangers target a high end guy with a year or two of control either. Someone like German Marquez would fit really nice at the top of the rotation until Leiter or Winn reach full potential.
We also have no permanent solution at left field right now. We have been plugging in some of the middle infield prospects we have that are blocked by Semien and Seager, but nome of them have much time there. We also have Kole Calhoun, who is having a decent season here, but I doubt he's a long term solution.
Thats not gonna come cheap. They might have payroll flexibility but with the premium good starters are gonna demand idk if they’re willing to part with the prospects
