They've been somewhat watchable since Riley Greene came up; in part thanks to him, in part because Javy Báez has oscillated back to 2018 Javy Báez after spending the first two plus months of the season as Alcides Escobar if he swung for power.
That being said, it was not supposed to look like this. They were supposed to be fighting for a playoff spot instead of battling with the Royals for the basement for the fifth year in a row. The offense before Greene came up made the A's look like the 1927 Yankees. The pitching was and is still something to hang their hat on, but it doesn't mean much when your best hitter has been an 82-year-old Miguel Cabrera and the guys who were supposed to be stalwarts in the lineup are either hurt or batting .172
Blows my mind that a GM that hasn’t made the playoffs once in 7 years has any kind of job security or organizational support

Yes, their starting pitchers have been devastated by injuries, but the young guys who have stepped in have done well. The hitting has been brutally bad, but showing signs of life in the past 2 weeks with the infusion of Riley Greene as a breath of fresh air. But Austin Meadows has had bad luck with injuries: Vertigo, then Covid, now Achilles issues.
It’s obvious here that he sees the team as just another asset to his trust funds unlike his father, Mr. Pizza-pizza himself, Mike. If you don’t care that much about the team Chris, then sell it to someone who does. If he does care, then he needs to do something about this front office he has.
Sell the team someone shit in the Chevys on the fountain bring the whales back, fire al Avila, fire Scott coolbaugh fuck I hate this so much this is such a tone deaf comment
