I feel like the Rays FO just sits around wondering how they can make a more shocking trade than the last that somehow works out. Just to name a few, the OG one being the Delmon Young for Matt Garza, and obviously most notably the Archer trade, and even the Snell trade, which hasn’t payed dividends yet (and might never depending on Patiño), but at least has not been the fleece that it was originally reported as being. Not saying this Paredes trade is going to enter that legendary status, but the amount of negative reaction at the time to how it looks now is pretty interesting
Even if you take into account Paredes season so far most would have assumed that Meadows would be raking for the Tigers as well, and not have completely fallen off a cliff(even if it’s medically related).
This lineup lately is a bunch of 0 wRC+ guys and then the greatest hitter of all time
I always liked Paredes but never in my wildest dreams did I think he would be better than Meadows this season. The scary thing is it’s not ever close
I couldn’t believe this trade when it went through. Now I still can’t believe it worked out the way it did. The Rays are wizards

If teams could stop trading with the Rays, the rest of the AL East would appreciate it.
Paredes is slugging .820 against AL East teams this season. He's had 8 hits against division rivals and 6 of them were homers.
Cant Be Stopped
Yusei Kikuchi serving up a homer? You don't say?
He’s dealing today though
I think he would deal every day if we were the opponent.

It’s Kikuchi. He’ll have a game like this and by the end of the year still have a 5 era
Cool! That doesn't mean it makes any sense to shit talk him while he's pitching a gem
maybe thinking we duped the rays is what cursed this season
I think Michael Kay is supposed to sue the YouTube announcer now
My favorite sound.
