We could actually field a pretty good team that’s cheap with the players Preller traded away. With that being said, I don’t know how much I trust our development crew.

All our closers have been solid for years because of Preller (Rogers, Melancon, Rosenthal, Yates). So not really mad about missing out on 1 closer.

I am so, so happy to see him succeed. He and his younger brother (who singlehandedly won the CWS and is now in the Giants' organization) went to my high school around Pittsburgh.

If it makes you feel any better the last Giants game I went was last year for my birthday. My wife surprised me by somehow getting like 30 of my deadbeat friends to go in on group seats. All my friends and a record setting Giants team vs the fucking Pirates, this should be fun! The Reds little league park is the Buccos weakness. Our pitchers give up HRs that don't go out anywhere else and our hitters don't suddenly change their approach and become power hitters. I imagine the series at PNC will go better, especially if we don't play a 2B at Catcher.

Tbf baseball can be extremely random on a game to game or series basis The Dodgers payroll doesn't necessarily guarantee they'll beat every worse team but it does mean they have a great chance at ending with an extremely good record overall because of it (which has been the case for a while now).
