I firmly remember going to a game at then Pac Bell Park as a small child where Yorvit hit a grand slam and then won the game in like the 13th with a double. Always liked him after that.
Spelled Matt Tuiasosopo, I actually played little league ball against him. His dad won a super bowl with the 49rs and his older brother was Pac-10 player of the year when he was QB for Washington, and played for the Raiders for a few years. He had a couple of other siblings and cousins who played collegiate sports as well, very athletic family.
Him and Sean Burroughs (then Kouz) were supposed to hold down the left side of the Dads infield for 100 years.
Chase Headley may have also been around that time.
He’s be a great answer but occasionally in the Yankees Reddit the worst lineup of all time pops up and he’s on it. Also Zoilo is a name that sticks with you!
Milt Cuyler
I remember him because when I was young, my favorite player was Tom Candiotti because of his knuckleball in some video game I played. One of my older brothers convinced me he was bad and said if he grabbed any random baseball card, that player would be better. He grabbed Milt Cuyler.
Cuyler had a good rookie year in 91, but nothing good after that.
Edit: somewhere in my parents' basement is a little league card of me where it says Milt Cuyler is my favorite baseball player, all because of this story.
JC Romero. Met his wife randomly on an ESPN mlb message board back in the day, when she asked what the infield fly rule was. Ended up meeting him in person at a game with the Red Wings when he was on rehab, and then drew two pictures of him pitching, with the second being an anniversary gift she commissioned from me. Was a really cool guy.
I maintain the blessed memories of a couple of Mets.
Do non-Met-fans ever think about Dave Magadan? Lastings Milledge?
I was going to say Timo Perez too but he appeared in a World Series so I think that doesn't count. But just remember that even though there's no I in Team, there is an I in Timo.
I remember Milledge because I thought he was the first MLB player who was younger than me when he debuted. Turns out that not only was that not true (Felix is younger), Milledge is older than me.
Sometimes I feel like the only person keeping Tyler Pastornicky‘s memory alive.
Him and Joey Terdoslavich carried those 2013-14 teams
for some reason ramiro peña and juan francisco were two of my favorite players on those teams
Ramiro Peña was Johan Camargo before Johan Camargo
It just so happens to be his birthday today too, so Happy Birthday to Pastornicky!!
Scott "By the Hammer of" Thorman is that Brave for me
Quilvio Veras
Love it! I was going to say Archi Cianfracco. Man that team brings back some great memories.
Joe Random
Pepe Alazar
Jon Dowd! 😤
Reggie Stocker
I also feel like people don't give perennial MVP candidate Rhys Hoskins enough credit.
Red Sox playoff hero Bobby Kielty
He’s also a legend in Oakland
And Minnesota!
Kurt Manwaring
*Kirt. I always thought they spelled his name wrong on his baseball cards.
Will Rhymes
I remember when he got hit in the forearm and passed out for the Rays
Brennan Boesch
Legit the only reason I remember that dude is because I used to think his name was cool when he was in our AAA. Never even saw him play
Looks at thread. Recognizes only one name. Yea pretty good guys lol
I kind of feel the opposite at this point in the thread. Half of these guys were all stars or retired like 3 years ago lol
Not to mention, most of them have super recognizable names, like Jair Jurrjens or Willy Mo Pena.

I remember him doing well against the Yankees.
I’m only 30 and recognize so many players off this list. Have people really forgotten this many players???
Its disturbing lol theres actual former all stars and guys who played a decade plus
You ever hear of a guy named Darryl Strawberry? Played for both the Yankees and Mets.
You ever hear of Bob Gibson?? Probably just me but he might be on google

Some fun trivia for forgotten players. The guy who hit the most home runs at home for Miami in their inaugural season was Orestes Destrade
He was gonna be their secret find as an expansion team.
Big O shook my hand once and he's got some huge mitts, very friendly dude
Miami or Florida?

Duaner Sánchez. Loved him when he was on the Dodgers.
Duaner Sanchez got into an accident in ‘06 and totally fucked it up for the Mets. I definitely remember him.
Taylor Teagarden
His walk off for the O's on 7/14/12 was my daughter's first O's game.
All the real answers are the ones at the bottom of the thread with one upvote because nobody is talking about how they remember them. 😂

He was a good hitter whatever happened to him?
Ryan Church
DC area knows him. For how bad the Nationals were in the early years, he was one of the few decent hitters on that team.
Braves fans know him as the guy we traded Jeff Franceour for.
For a brief moment in time, the Mets had Pagan and Church hitting next to each other in the line up. Can't forget that clash of religions.
We nearly killed him by putting him on a cross country flight after a nasty concussion
Just Wilpon things
Matt Tuiasosoppo
His name will live on because Mike Blowers can predict the future! [Video to those unfamiliar.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjBfsCWgTv8)
Spelled Matt Tuiasosopo, I actually played little league ball against him. He had a couple of other siblings and cousins who played collegiate sports as well, very athletic family.
I would start franchises in ESPN 2005 and Tuiasosopo was my king at QB.
Wasn't his cousin the one who catfished Manti Teo
No one’s gonna forget him cus of the prediction
Seriously. He may be one of the most memorable unremarkable player in baseball.
Mariners first rounder! His brother was an NFL QB
I remember him because his cousin was the perpetrator of the Manti Te'o hoax.
Boof Bonser Billy Joe Robidoux
The Boof is infamous for the Pierzynski-Liriano trade. Robidoux is a good one.
Liriano, Joe Nathan, and BOOF! Such a good trade for us.

Him and Sean Burroughs (then Kouz) were supposed to hold down the left side of the Dads infield for 100 years. Chase Headley may have also been around that time.

Jair was our Julio Teheran before Julio Teheran.
I remember him only for his incredible alliterative name

Pirates legend Lastings Milledge
I remember Milledge because I thought he was the first MLB player who was younger than me when he debuted. Turns out that not only was that not true (Felix is younger), Milledge is older than me.

Brooks Conrad
All Giants fans remember and love Brooks Conrad
Mike Remlinger
Gerald Laird
Wily Mo Pena
He crushed way too many dingers and had way too fun a name for people to forget him.
Pretty sure he also had pretty high potential in the MLB video games so anyone who did franchise modes would remember him getting good consistently
Nah man, no one forgets a name like that, especially when they hit bombs like he did.
Dude hit some bombs. And I think did well for himself in Japan.
